who is this "hosted by ecatel"?

I think I've found the ip range for it
http://www.robtex.com/dns/hosted-by.ecatel.net.html#whois

Does anyone else have any info about how to block ecatel?

The "hosted by" text is just part of the user agent of the browser used by this guest.

You can block his IP(ranges) if you want.

But it looks like a spider of some sort. I would try to find what kind of spider it is (could be ecatel related) and limit the number in a robots.txt file.

He came back to visit my site today. Here's another support thread that I've asked about this
http://forums.hostgator.com/can-limit-baidu-spider-p208958.html#post208958

and one of the recent suggestions was

Like I said, block the entire IP range. The IP Deny Manager on cPanel makes it easy to do. It's pretty clearly at least:

89.248.160.*
89.248.162.*
89.248.168.*

I'll wager there are more, like 161, 163, etc., so just keep an eye on it and see if those ranges appear, as well. I'm guessing you'll end up blocking 89.248.160 through 168, at a minimum, but only time will tell if that's necessary.

Which I did but he found a way to come back recently.
