Well im guessing right after upgradeing from 3.x to 4.x

alot of people had this over on vbulletin.com
it happened to me aswell when upgradeing and i had usergroups in vb3
but didnt get them correctly updated to vb4. so by default if someone tryes to
login whith a "non existing" usergroup they get banned for trying.

I solved this on two boards, by creating new temp usergroups,
made proberly 20 new groups, and to my supprice users was added in the new
groups by vbulletin automatic, so all i had to do, was move people from the new
temp groups to the one i wanted them to be in, then they didnt get the msg
or get banned..

Major problem was that those allready got the message about banned
was now in the usergroup "banned" and got to move them manually.
so i made a banner noticed on both boards with a msg, something like

if you have login trouble, contact us. . . bla bla bla.. add username so i can locate...... etc
