Block pop-ups from embeded video players?

Is it possible to block external pop-ups/new windows? I have a few video players embeded on my site and everytime a user clicks to play the video, a new window appears and they have to close it in order to return to the original page to watch the video.

Is there a code I could insert to stop pop-ups?
