FUZZY SEO Booster - increase long tail search traffic AUTOMATICALLY!

New Version: 13th October 2010 - fixes the following:
1) searches that contain backslashes no longer give a database error
2) statistics pages cleanued up, improved pagination for big boards
3) random "ghost" keywords like "0h" now solved.

What does this plugin do?

It automatically increases your search engine traffic for long tail queries, by embedding the actual search terms that people use to find your site in an auto-updating tag cloud on every page.

Installation:


1. Download plugin archive and unzip it. You will find in the zip file, a product XML and

an "upload" folder.


2. Login to yor vBulletin admin control panel.


3. Open "Plugins & Products", and go to "Manage Products".

Click on "[Add/Import Product]".


4. Import the XML file that came with this download. Make sure you choose "allow

overwrite" = yes.

5. Upload all content from folder "upload" to you forum root direcory.

not as far as Im aware, but feel free to try it (although it will be officially unsupported) - you may need to modify the templates to get it to install, if thats the case I can give you instructions mate.

1) CMS/Blogs integration: not currently, I was going to build it around the full suite, but after playing around with the beta versions I actually just modified wordpress to suit the new vb as you can see on my board (http://seoforums.org) as I wasnt a fan of the whole vb4 CMS at all.

I will however have widget functionality built into the next release, which will come out once Ive got through all the suggestions of this release.

2) branding free version/paid version: I haven't really thought about that to be honest, I guess I could launch a "gold" version... I will come back to you on that mate.

Just curious.. What is better to use, to use this or to use vB's SEO? I'm afraid that all vB's SEO links won't work anymore that have been posted in threads & posts.

This in conjunction with vB's inbuilt SEO will be fine... This product doesn't take the place of other SEO features like mod_rewrite/etc... It just captures search terms used to 'find' your site and updates the cloud to include those particular keywords, thus giving you relevant longtail keywords.

In short, this is merely but one weapon to use in the SEO battle, it isn't a 1-stop solution to SEO though.

My Error seems to be fixed.

A couple of suggestions.

Create another new template called fseokeywords.css or whatever, and move all your inline styles out of the middle of pages and make a call to include it at the end of the headinclude template.

Yep, I will fix that in tomorrow's release, I hadnt actually considered other encodings.

it all looks ok to me, but Im struggling to find your forum with any search queries! The plugin depends on traffic to get to your pages already using google, then it increases the position in google of the query term.

can you post a page on your forum that you can find, with a search on google?

Its a valid concern you raise, but its no different to having a tag cloud on your site.

The default number of search terms displayed is 25 by default, if it were set to something like 200 then yes it could be keyword stuffing, but at the default levels its fine.

Everyone keeps talking about vbSEO. I used to have a mod that was for that but I had to disable it or it stopped my upgrade from 3.8.4 to 4.

Does vBulletin 4 now have SEO integrated? Or is there a hack for it again that I just can't find?

I doubt it, there are some really large sites with extremely similar features implemented, actually their keyword box is on top of their threads so it appears before the content, or on the left sidebar also before the content.

Looks like its working fine to me. your gonna have to give it some time to populate once somebody comes in from a search engine it will only take a minute or two to appear in the list. ;)

Well there is a default block for tag clouds so I don't see it being more obtrusive as you can hide the blocks if you don't want to see them.

this same plugin has been available on wordpress for about 6 months now, pretty much every site its installed on has seen an increase, some only 10%, some much, much more.

It does take time to "bed in" - at least 3-4 weeks as google needs to revisit all of your pages a couple of times... so its one to set it and forget it, then check the positions in a few weeks.

Thats why I have put the stats reader in, it checks the serps on keywords and tracks them historically. That way you know for sure its working in a while.

it functions completely seperately - you can install it before or afterwards, and it will make no difference to this plugin if you install it at all.

This plugin optimizes on page keywords - vbseo is much more of a "site" tune up
(that personally I like, although a lot of people disagree).

That would be using hidden text - likely to get you banned from google... so I wouldnt recommend it :)

so I answered a very similar question over at vbseo.com yesterday. The reason its not in the main vb tag cloud is becuase it tracks clicks and serps, therefore needs its own database, therefore has its own location.

This plugin is in development, so any suggestions are welcome, but thats the reason its not just "auto creating" tags based on search queries, because its storing more info than tags permit.

it's because the page is getting bigger and bigger with all the data it's gathering and it's putting all the information on on page, eventually it's going to cause a fatal memory issue, the data needs to be split over multiple pages

Never mind. I worked it out by copying that part of the code from the previous version in the XML file, uninstalling and reinstalling. Uninstalling seemed to be needed to zero out remnants of the test searches. So it is OK until a fix arrives, I hope.

i.e. keywords / search phrases need to be approved by staff, before they become visible. Then they are automatically added to the appropriate threads as thread tags. If threads already have other thread tags, then this method may be less tricky / easy to recognize for Google.

Go to ACP > Plugins and Products > Plugin Manager
Scroll down until you find Product : SEOforums.org Fuzzy SEO Booster RC2
Find Forum Seoqueries - init_startup and click Edit
Inside the small text box, find the text
//imitating http_referer variable uncomment this line if you want to test plugin
Delete everything between that and the following text:

People are moaning saying it's doing nothing for them and only helping your SEO because it's giving you free back links on every page and doing nothing for them in return because it's not adding the keywords to the threads, the first version worked fine but the last few versions are not working

It's not noticeable for people who have upgraded from working versions because it keeps all their old keywords so it;s hard to notice it's not adding new ones, but anyone that installed it from scratch will not get any benefit from the latest versions

Also pagination isn't making anything any faster in the view statistics section of the control panel, it's making a new page for every thread, and if it's putting the test11111? keyword on every single page of the forum it needs to build all those pages....

Try FTP'ing the contents of the includes folder that came with the latest version of vb. In particular, copy and overwrite the /includes/init.php file and restore to the original and see if that works

Try FTP'ing the contents of the includes folder that came with the latest version of vb. In particular, copy and overwrite the /includes/init.php file and restore to the original and see if that works

Try globally disabling all your plugins in your includes/config.php file by adding the line
define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true) and see if that gives you admincp access

I am not a coder or the author of this plugin, and I doubt that your database files were corrupted. Problem appears to be changes to your config files that are causing this. If you can isolate those config files and try restoring them (to the version before you added this plugin), you'll be in the right direction without having to do a full restore from backup

I don't think it's modified any of the files stored on my server, it's modified a global template, and without access to the admin cp i don't think i can revert the styles or uninstall the plugin

please note that there is only one link per page - although they may link to different pages on http://seoforums.org

Yeah, that's why I grabbed it.. hadn't seen anyone else saying the same had happened to them with THIS mod until your post, so I shared. :)

*edit* The other mod, if I recall correctly, actually hyperlinked all the SE entries, to the page they were from. This mod doesn't do that, but it's similar.
