This could be a major issue with this hack:The problem that has me a long time is that grown in the database tables and now when it's forum to a certain number of users found this addon saturates the server. Consume all the CPU.
I experienced something similar with another hack some years ago.

It will add a link back to the his site on forumhome, and will also add a link to every thread that it adds the tags too. So it could be adding a lot of links to his site from yours.

It is getting to the point where coders are hording backlinks...The bottom of my
home page is looking so unattractive, and unprofessional. I think I am going to
start removing these mods, after all, what do I really get other then passing
my link juice off to other sites....If the OP does not want to respond, then
that is fine with me, I will uninstall, and life continues to go on....

maybe some coder will come in one day, and pick up where he left off.
They will no doubt make quite a bit of money if they are honest.

I've been using Vbseo on another forum and I decided to use this one on a different forum to compare. I just installed and then uninstalled it because I am turned off by the different links he is using at the bottom to promote his sites. Especially the Pokerforums.co - I don't think that's very professional at all.

When I moved it to the footer I saw it only twice, I refreshed trying again for a screen shot but gave up. It was definitely a link to his pokerforums.co site or whoever it belongs to.

Remove the copyright that this guy states you cannot do without paying for it and you are opening yourself up to legal actions. Ok, finally I've fixed the issue with the showthread & forum home collapsible boxes. Only tested with the latest upgrade of this mod, use at your own risk if using a lower version.
only problem that I've found is what's in the attachment (only seems to affect the homepage)

My board has over 2 million threads, and received 50,000 people a day from google searches. After a year this causes the Fuzzy SEO plugin to create a huge database of search terms, and now when the script is enabled the server load immediately jumps to 20. As soon as it is disabled it immediately goes down to 1.

The script is nice and I like it, but I cant use it as long as the code is not efficient.

There was no update of the product file so if it was quarantined for security purposes please let us know.

Also this information would be very important for the "Gold" owners which payed for their version but don't get support in any way.
If there was a security issue we have to compare the "free" version with our "exactly the same gold" version to fix the issue.

How is this mod any different from me manually going into a page, and stuffing it with keywords? Doesn't this basically do the same thing? It takes the search query and inserts it into the page. I thought Search Engines look for this type of behavior on pages and I thought it had a negative impact in SEO

1) Make sure you did un-install it and not simply disable

2) Remove the files that you added (which came with this mod)

3) Rebuild your templates

4) Flush any cache system you maybe using

5) Use; Repair / Optimize Tables

Interesting but I find that they crawl more often with the addon enabled since it changes the content every once in a while.

But i think this mod works most for threads, I've seen threads going #1 very fast. Auto SEO Long tail search traffic for every user's threads is what we get.

Still have the plugin installed, told google via webmaster tools to let it determine the crawl rate.... Over 51 googlebots crawling on the forum & god knows how many are crawling away on the blog.

I asked my members if they had noticed that my site is slower, no one of them have this noticed.

Also my Google rankings are much better than before. So this mod seems to be a great idea to bother the rivals.

The only pain in the a.. are the backlinks, but as the developer doesn't seem to give the promised support, I felt free to change the links in the Footer advertisment to wikileaks.ch.

Saw that already, but it sure is a shame to hafta edit out poker site links, blog links, forum links, etc,... only to find out you have to modify the templates to make them presentable anyways.

All for an arguably questionable return.

The only measurable return I can see is from a significant percentage of the hundreds of users using this mod that dont know how or havent performed the edits that just end up providing back links to these websites run by the coder, thereby improving SEO on those sites run by the coder.

A simple "Copyright ? The Coder's Website", maybe linked, would have been sufficient.

First, find the location of the zip for fuzzy seo on your hard drive.
Second, open up vbulletin, disable the product.
Third, open FTP to your site (NOT cpanel). Compare the folders/files on your hard drive to your webspace, remove all files (including the xml) that the product introduces to your site.
Fourth optional step is to refresh the tab containing your forum admin cp area to verify that it's gone.

Swiss, just upgrade to vbulletin 4.

I can't use this plugin because the keywords show up in black and my background is black. There is no way to change the color of the text. If I got indexed while this plugin was active Google would blacklist me for blackhat SEO.

Beware if you have a dark forum and you use this plugin. I checked for a solution and someone else mentioned it on his site and he simply closed the thread without replying to it...

I have SEOforums.org Fuzzy SEO Booster RC2 1.3.2 and I would like to upgrade it to 1.5.0b.

The product does not function properly on a variety of levels. It is VERY poorly coded and requires manual modification of plugins (if you were unfortunate enough to buy the Gold edition) to properly get rid of the branding.

No easy/proper way to modify the colors of the links and other items in the product and it does not adhere to existing styles that are applied to the areas where the product hooks into vBulletin.

When I went to uninstall it I had to clean up afterwards manually to boot!

I'm just going to stick with vBSEO and call it a day.

Guys that make hacks, feel the need to promote their own site(s) in turn for the use of their hack. You just can't do it for the love of the game? If people left every copyright in place then they would have an extra 6" of other peoples stuff at bottom of forum, WHO WANTS THIS? This isn't an even trade off at all, and makes a 5 star site look 3rd class. I've contributed to this and even built other peoples site taking me days, and didn't put one mark on THEIR site.

I'm more than happy to pay for good mods that I use, and I've paid for a TON of them. In this particular case there are MULTIPLE forms of branding that appear with the PAID mod that you need to manually remove, and even then it's not easy.

What I do find interesting is all this branding in itself is an SEO technique. This mod helps the AUTHORS site more than it helps the site the software gets installed on.

I did file a dispute for my paid version of this mod and according to the author's site my payment was "refunded" even though it hasn't been.

I can't use this plugin because the keywords show up in black and my background is black. There is no way to change the color of the text. If I got indexed while this plugin was active Google would blacklist me for blackhat SEO.

I would like to recommend me to do. The point is that this mod really works very well and I have it enabled greatly increased traffic. The problem comes because the hours start to get much traffic the CPU consumption and server load will shoot me. I modified it a mod so that when the server load exceeds a value I disable this mod in order to avoid completely saturate the server.

Well my question is, do you think is worth renting a server processor with much more active and try to always have this mod, or else you think is not worth it?

Can the tables for this be converted to InnoDB and if so how would converting to that affect general performance of the plugin?

I seem to be having database issues related to this plugin.

This table is a MyISAM table - so an update/insert on one row will lock the whole table for reads. If it were InnoDB it would be slightly slower to access, but it would give row level locks on update/insert.

Any help would be appreciated.

Any update on the innodb?

I did install that addon for 3.8.4 Everything is ok. The only problem is nothing is changed in templates. I've tried to do it manually: adding code in showtread

But it doesn't work. If i work on it, i can edit the codes to take keywords from sql to showtread template..

Maybe there is someone who did it before.. he can help me for it.

how i can convert all queries to cp1251 for example ?

What is the problem with big forums?
Maybe huge db tables with search terms... Anyway, for forums with 5-7k users per day (60% of them comes from search engines) this mod works well, mmm, nearly well, ?cuz some improvements are required

Searches coming from google chrome are not detected, anyone know how to solve this issue?
I tested Firefox and it works fine, but when the visit come from google chrome it does not get detected.
Edit: ok it seems working one, I guess if I'm logged into my google account searches don't get detected by this plugin. Any fix for that instead?

the only thing that this mod seems to be good at is providing a linkback to the developer

If the developer does not care about what customers are saying about his modification, or answer question to potential customers he must not care about the reputation of his name or his website.

Do yourself a favor and uninstall this mod. It is nothing but trouble with a linkback.

Yeh i was excited about this mod so installed and after several days i did not see any changes.
I did see a higher load on the server because of this mod and im not just talking about a lil bit... i have a pro linux server and cloudflare which can take a lot but this mod really slowed my website down.

I do NOT ecommended this mod for those on shared host nor VPS!!!
