Yea will do, i am actually not using vbDrupal as it stuffs up with 4.0, instead i am using normal Drupal and will wait for the dev package of the vb module for drupal. Its a slow work in progress but i will get there, as of current these are the two sections of my site.

Hi Impulse,

Loving this skin...definately in with the better skins for 4.0.X so far! Just a couple of wee queries....

Right under the user avatar (pic: 1) theres a random colon displayed. Can't seem to remove this? I put in a couple of extra line breaks up here to cure a layout issue, but it's probably not ideal.

If the user had arcade achivements, or has a blog (pic: 2) then the layout seems to go a bit loopy. In fact, the number of blog posts seems to post above the wording Blogs?!

Also, when quoting a previous quote, it seems if the Quote is short the new message will follow the alligntment of the Quote (pic: ) - ie it'll auto-insert a line break without needing one, keeping the new message to the width of the Quote bubble.

Hope that makes sense - this is maybe stuff that'll be fixed in the next realease anyway, but thought I'd mention just in case :)

Hello,
this will be only a temporary solution, but thats a problem with a standard-function from vB in this style. And I do not want in the long run without it ;)

This is indeed a temporary solution. To correct this, the image height needs to be increased, which may look a bit odd if you don't have a category description.

This seems to be a unique bug (we've never seen before).

Please run these tests:
Make sure you have the latest version of vBulletin installed.
You have the latest version of Breeze installed. (Try reinstalling if not)
All the images are located in cpstyles/Breeze
You do not have any conflicting modifications (try turning them all off to test)

If you still have the issue, please PM me a live link and I will take a look at it.

The image is set to a certain height which chop off a piece of the description. If you wish to have a category description, just increase the height of the image. (otherwise it looks awkward when a description isn't present)

I'm getting a similar issue to what's been posted before. Lines are doubling up in the header, and it appears that I'm getting the wrong background image.

However, I right click on the background image and select "view background image" (in firefox this just opens up the image up by itself) and I see the correct one! Weird eh?

I've seen this before, and typically it means the original page is just cached or something, but I've cleared cache, refreshed, etc, and it's still the same.

(see attached)

Could this be because I'm using the template that's meant for 4.0.2 and I'm on 4.0.3?

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

04-22-2010, 06:33 AM
Well, it turns out this is only a problem if you have a description under a category... which I did not end up using. So in my case this is not an issue.

TalkTemplate
04-22-2010, 11:13 PM
Yes, category descriptions cause the header to "duplicate" which can only be fixed by increasing the image height. Unfortunately, that would make the categories without descriptions too large.

Yes, category descriptions cause the header to "duplicate" which can only be fixed by increasing the image height. Unfortunately, that would make the categories without descriptions too large.

But in the original-style the height of subforumdescription is ok. I have removed the description for the forums, but my galery-script uses the subforumdescription too. And there it looks sad too :erm:. It would be nice to fix this problem, the style is realy great !
In the attachement my startside with vbcms (http://www.vbdesigns.de/) (not the vb cms).
Greets,Micha

P.S.: In your style "Darkvision-white" is the subforumdescription ok ;)

Try reinstalling the style again. Seems to be an xml error. If not, the style vars need to be corrected for the forumhead height.

To fix the Category Description problem everyone needs to edit the forumbits.css template and do the following:

change this:

.forumhead {
background: {vb:stylevar forumhead_background};
height: 37px;
_background-image: none;
padding: 0;
font:{vb:stylevar forumhead_font};
color:{vb:stylevar forumhead_color};
clear:both;
margin-top: 8px;
float: {vb:stylevar left};
border: {vb:stylevar forumhead_border};
width: {vb:stylevar forumhead_width};
-moz-border-radius-top{vb:stylevar right}: {vb:stylevar forumhead_top_corner_radius};
-moz-border-radius-top{vb:stylevar left}: {vb:stylevar forumhead_top_corner_radius};
-webkit-border-top-{vb:stylevar right}-radius: {vb:stylevar forumhead_top_corner_radius};
-webkit-border-top-{vb:stylevar left}-radius: {vb:stylevar forumhead_top_corner_radius};
}

to this:

.forumhead {
background: {vb:stylevar forumhead_background};
height: 50px;
_background-image: none;
padding: 0;
font:{vb:stylevar forumhead_font};
color:{vb:stylevar forumhead_color};
clear:both;
margin-top: 8px;
float: {vb:stylevar left};
border: {vb:stylevar forumhead_border};
width: {vb:stylevar forumhead_width};
-moz-border-radius-top{vb:stylevar right}: {vb:stylevar forumhead_top_corner_radius};
-moz-border-radius-top{vb:stylevar left}: {vb:stylevar forumhead_top_corner_radius};
-webkit-border-top-{vb:stylevar right}-radius: {vb:stylevar forumhead_top_corner_radius};
-webkit-border-top-{vb:stylevar left}-radius: {vb:stylevar forumhead_top_corner_radius};
}

Use the new forumhead.png attached. Lastly, if your header isn't looking right after you edit the psd then try the bgheader.gif attached as well.

I'm still working on the yellow line under Categories and will post back when I fix it....now if we can get the right psd file for the fluid design we would be rocking.

I really like this theme as well. I am having the same issue others have mentioned with the facebook integration. Both the like and fconnect buttons are not showing even though it is enabled in preferences. If I switch to another theme they are there. If I insert other code into the facebook_likebutton portion it shows in the CMS articles and threads (where I have fb enabled). If I do view source through the browser I can see that the fb code is there in the html but it is not showing for users. Running 4.1.3. Thanks in advance.

I have fixed the fconnect button on my site. I realised that if I went to x.com and not x.com/content.php that the button was there. I was able to track it down.

Solution:
facebook_header - remove hidden from fb_headerbox

It looks like the FB Like is actually on the page but set to a size of 0x0. I am trying to track that down as well.

newbie_newbie
04-17-2011, 01:57 AM
add:
<script src="http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"></script>

to facebook_likebutton. this will make the like button appear. I stumbled on this when I tried to add the button from fb generated code. I then had 2 buttons. So I removed the code and left the script and it is now working.

Yes, the style is currently up to date. Please visit talktemplate.com to test the style.

This style works on vB4.0.1.
Now with vB being on v4.1.4 there are a lot of changes to the templates, which have broken several aspects of this Style. This means a LOT of tweaks have to be made to the style to get it to fully function & look right on vB versions above 4.0.1.

Also, no updates in over a year, even with multiple people having issues (with no support). Not to mention that your demo website has been hacked, so no one can view it anyway. I would suggest everyone stay away from this Style, unless you want to do a bunch of fixes/updates to it yourself. Those of us who have it working, just fine (like the author implies about hs site) installed it way back on 4.0.1 and have upgraded the template along with vB to 4.1.4.

Using vBulletin version 4.1.7-p2 and testing in a modern browser (Chrome v17) with JS enabled.

Is anybody having an issue with the WYSIWYG editor controls not being displayed with this theme?

Would not know how to explain this, but anywhere that blue / orange bars are displayed.... The text is dark and un-readable.

See screen shot.

Great theme! One problem I can't figure out is why the category bar doesn't stretch on my forum.

Any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks :)

I too am having this issue. Any help would be appreciated!

Seems to work, had to create a folder named cpstyles in the root directory then upload the breeze directory into that.

I am having this issue with 4.1.8 tried the stock style and the wysiwyg editor is there, flip styles to this and it's gone completely.

I had this problem too, I fixed it by editing the forumbits.css in the code

font-size: {vb:stylevar font.fontSize};
min-width: 74%;
}
By lowering the min-width

I tried lowering it and even raising it, but sadly no matter what I did it just didn't look right.

Solutions?

I reverted forumbits.css and surprisingly it worked and it all looks nice and clean now

Demo: http://www.sociallyuncensored.eu/forums/forum.php?styleid=9

For those of you who try this.... I recommend backup up a copy of forumbits.css (select it all and save it in something like Notepad or gedit). See if it works for you and if not, restore the original code.

This was the original code

But I suggest you copy if from your site should you may have anything that you may have customized and later after reverting it .... Should it not work out so well ..... You'll have your own copy to restore from.

But for me .... Reverting it resolved the issue (of course I also have the default theme as a parent).

Providing, we've been updating these skins since 4.0.x, our updates have been very consistent for a free skin provider.

We've made zero profits thus far and in order to sustain our services and provide better support for our products, we must make this move.

Again, thank you for your support.

The problem with that is we don't need support, we need something that works with vbulletin , on 4.1.9 it breaks the wysiwyg editor , so you supply something that is not fit for purpose, so I will simply stop using your style and use another instead.

Understand that with every update, vBulletin changes a whole series of things that requires a lot of time to update. For example the addition of a new editor without adding many necessary template hooks has made css coding a huge part of development. (however this makes future updates more difficult.

FYI: You know that Forum Styles have nothing to do with that folder "cpstyles"?

Mike, we know this. You know that where we put our style images has nothing to do with how the skin functions. It just makes things less cluttered.

When I tried to install this on 4.1.9 it told me it was created in 4.1.7......

When I told it to ignore the version some of the forum headers are broken. For example "Threads / Posts Last Post" is all the way on the right and "Last Post" is in a new line below it.

I find that Breeze works best as a "child style" of the system default.

AdminCP > Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Edit Settings

Have the vbulletin default as the parent and save.

Have vBulletin rebuild the themes

AdminCP > Maintenance > Update Counters > Rebuild Styles (yes on both options, rebuild)

I love the appearance of this style, and would like to use it. However, I am having the same problem that a few other people have mentioned, which still hasn't been addressed. The reason why there is a word-wrap on "Last Post" is because there appears to be the "Thread/Posts" (forumthreadpost) variable that is not being handled in the template.

What is unusual is that TalkTemplates has corrected this on their own website, but they have not corrected this in the download files here. The two screen captures below show this difference in how the template was supposed to work, versus how TT now has it running on their site.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=135971&stc=1&d=1327269795

I am a complete newbie to this, but I would love to find a quick fix to this. I have played around in the XML files and found the absence of the "forumthreadspost" variable, and also noticed the "forumtitle" variable has a width of 76%. The quickest fix would be to turn the "forumthreadspost" variable off, but I don't know how to do that. The correct fix is probably to add that variable to the XML, but I don't know how to do that either.

For the time being, the 4.1.10 release is only available for premium users. This requires a $12 fee for unlimited priority support for life. Once paid, the download is available immediately.

We will continue to update the free theme for major template changes. For now, it is entitely functional for basic use.

However, what concerns me is that you have ignored the repeated comments about the problem(s) with the style for a long time. You have sidestepped the questions, even when screen shots were presented. That doesn't bode well for your reputation. I'm reluctant to even spend $12 on something when the developer is not being forthright on the information.

This is indeed optional. Up until 4.1.10, making the fix would result in extremely long forumheaders.

We've added this as an optional, yes this is an option for users, feature for premium users who wish to use a category subscription. Keep in mind forum descriptions still function correctly.

All the best,

Smart move, you removed it.

Its unethical to have the version here as vB 4.1.10 when its not that version, as

have to go to your site and pay for this version, reported....

Not unethical, wrong if anything however we are unclear on intention so we have no room to throw out such statements - fair enough?

The version works for vb 4.1.10. The category optional fix is available for premium users only.

Feel free to report our free style all you wish.

No need to mention it here then, no need at all.

Optional fix? The category headers don't line up with the categories for which they point. How is this considered an optional fix?

Your responses to this discussion today are not that of a professional company. It is not making you look good.

Not every company is professional, I'm a partner in a LLC with my wife yet I run 99% of the company and I run it how I feel it's best to be ran, granted many assume certain companies should do this or that but how do you feel Carnival Cruises is doing in light of the recent cruise ship fiasco? Nothing but a 30% discount on future cruises which imo is sorry therefor based on that, as we can see, it still depends on who runs the company ;). I don't see anything too unprofessional here honestly however that's a matter of perspective.

You lost me at "We've added this as an optional"... reading the rest makes me assume it's only for premium users (meaning they must purchase the paid version of the style from your site?) and if that's the case it's yet another mention of a paid style? Do not discuss, promote or anything of that nature regarding the paid style, we don't mind one link and mention of it in the modification description (otherwise everyone else, we might not see too many releasing free styles here respectively).

Smart move, you removed it.

Let's not poke and prod someone, I'm not innocent there myself admittedly however this is nothing so major as to warrant such replies (laugh with me on that one :D).

From all the quotes above, wouldn't it be safe to assume TalkTemplate that you have confused many here?

Please update the modification settings to reflect the current version it's coded for, meaning 4.1.7 per the .xml and then your free to post something along the lines of "It will install on other versions however may need some updating" otherwise your going to end up with more confused members here which is what I want to avoid.

Also please keep discussions about Paid/Premium/Pro versions of the style limited to your site only, if a member inquires here simply ignore it and send them a PM this way continued discussion is avoided ;).

The XML files for this style clearly say: 4.1.7

Therefore I have changed the settings on this style to reflect that it is truthfully a 4.1.7 style.

DO NOT change it again unless you upload a newer style.

Thank you mods for spending time on this issue.

For clarity, the skin is created for vBulletin 4.1.7 and functions for all later versions.

We may update this in the future for free users.

Keep in mind, we have no obligations to provide "professional" support or updates for all releases. We will continue to fix major issues in the future.

Lies all Lies !!!

There is NO support on Talk Template site either and the story that the versions are now 4.1.10 is a lie!@!! My forum is STILL as messed up as the 4.1.7 free version!!

So yeah I got screwed out of US$12 :(

Are there ANY honest designers out there these days? This is now the 3rd time I got scammed trying to get a skin for 4.1.10

They also haven't worked for me. It's a real shame, because this theme is perfect for what I need.

Apply as needed (merge CMS.xml after applying the Forum.xml if you use CMS)I think it should be noted that this fix does fix the problems....I'm running these versions on my forum.

What should make this just a little irritating to all, is that this fix didn't add any code to fix the problem. It removed bad code that didn't need to be there. I'm just a little PO'd that TalkTemplates wants to charge $12 to delete code that screwed this up in the first place, and has been cryptic about it for months. :mad:

My apologies, I was attempting to merge it. Imported as a new theme, all is well. Top effort.

FYI: For some people (not all)

Import my fix and call it Breeze 2 or uninstall Breeze and install my copy.

My fix doesn't seem to "merge" well with his flawed code (sometimes).

@OldSchoolDSL

Forum.xml should take care of this.

If you find that it does not, include CMS.xml as the code from that should carry over. vBulletin has a few global settings that are shared between CMS and Blog
