Seems that there is a bug there. If you turn both ON, it will work. I wrote it down for correction.

Your eyesight is perfect:-)) It uses the new deafult VB template. You can see it on the first screenshoots. All other screenshoot are for the vb3 version. I haven't time to get new screenshoots:D

Another quick question. I assume that if one user posts a ticket that another user can not see it? Meaning the ticket poster can't see other tickets and such. Also is there a way for this to notify you when a ticket poster post replies as a notification? Is that even possible if not current? By notifying I mean like you get a PM it lets you know. Also in the ticket system is there like a auto prefix? To use an example....A person posts a ticket. The ticket automatically says pending or something till a staff member replies then when a staff member replies it have a prefix like awaiting for more info from user or like that if you get my drift. Kind of like when you would post a support ticket to your server people. I'll post a screenie on that. I hope the screenie helps you understand what I am asking. Now this is using some sort of portal but is used as an example only.

If you got the error I listed above, please upload this file and overwrite the existing one, it will fix the error.

I'm using a different approach for ticket priority. Instead to let the user choose priority (99% always choose "Highest"), the priority goes according to usergroup permissions. So if you've a paid usergroup it's normal to assign them highest priority than another free usergroup.

LOL, your welcome. Yes I believe in telepathy. I hate seeing bugs and it eats me up if I don't attempt to fix it. I usually don't post fixes but here lately I found that if I provide fixes for other's stuff then good fortune will come my way eventually, no rush for it though. Plus no matter what, without fixing it and at least providing a fellow coder help, when I need help I may not get any.

Currently not. Maybe in the future I'll setup option to assign technicians per category.
For now you can assign technician permissions to any usergroup you want to reply tickets.

Correct. Tickets are private and not public.

User is notifying by email. The email is configurable at General Options.

There are 4 predefinied statuses: Open, Hold (means awaiting response), Closed. User can reopen a closed ticket.

Yes I seen it. It's a typo on file support.php line 466.
Instead of:
if($vbulletin->options["microsupport_products"])
{

}

}
Must be:
if($vbulletin->options["microsupport_products"])
{

Maria, Thanks for the response, but what I was wondering I see it isn't right now but is it possible to get a forum home notification when there was a reply so one wouldn't have to sit there and wait. They may reply but if I was out how would I know without manually go there looking? Is this possible in future releases or is that something that would be too hard to add? Even a email showing it has been replied to would be nice.

Thanks to God I was early to the Hospital where I had a emergency surgery lasting 5 1/2 trying to clear my inside from food and liquid that my exploded stomach droped around. I stayed hospitalization for 35 days.
After that, I decided to make my life easier. In other words to not care of anything. As you can see I didn't even placed a copyright to avoid fight with those who are removing it. So, as from me, they'll stay here.

Wow... very sad to hear that and glad to see your doing good... I reckon we all took it the wrong way how you just pulled the mods and the message you left in them lead us to believe otherwise but such is life when your sick and sometimes it's similar to the plain ole' version of being sick... well the so sick you just don't care... want the fan, a cold rag, and a trashcan nearby maybe with a coke to sip on or in your case that same feeling but 1000x worse :(.
Again, sorry to hear that and I'll put this mod to good use... next time you have troubles contact another good coder and maybe *cough *cough they'll temporarily support your mods while your gone :p

Gotcha, I was more thinking a priority that the techs could set, like as a drop down on the ticket when you are putting replies on it would be very cool. I would never think of allowing users to set the priority.

Sorry to see that my instructions haven't fixed your problem. Unfortunatelly I can't duplicate your issue. If you login with: demouser/demopass at:

you'll see that there is no error. I'm also sure that if you add some dammy tickets, after the 5th you'll see the page navigation too.
So, the last common reason is a coflist with another 3nd party mod.

Yes, I know. But this version must be max 2 days old, because when I downloaded my bete (on Friday evening), this one (Beta 5) was the newest version.
Maybe is better to wait for a fix. Is common with any new release, some new features to conflist with something else. Especially with pagination which was a problem from the early betas, as it was accepting only hard coding "20" records.

Maria, I can confirm the error. I just upgraded to RC2 and it does exist. I can only assume something changed between Beta 5 and RC2 as I tested this on RC1 and it worked but now it doesn't on RC2. Very very odd.
EDIT: Forgot they skipped RC1 basically.

Why rush a fix for RC2 we may get to install RC3. It would be nice but I just have this mod tagged for gold as I knew updates in betas/RC's would break it.

I want to remind all my friends here, who're feeling uncomfortable getting that dammit database errors, that even if we don't like them, they're normal. vB4 is still unstable. But like me, you also like to try anything new. So, please have patience. As you can see I'm here, and always trying to solve the issues as sooner as I can. But only issue coming from my side (eg when I've forgot to register a variable, or when I've wrote products instead departments).
But to try to find what's wrong when something don't works with RC2, while it was working with previous version (Beta 5), means that I've to compare many vB files, something not so easy.
Be sure that I'll do my best, and if I'll see that this mod gets some popularity (eg 50 installations), I've many ideas to improve it, with first coming "Predefinied replies".

Most people - myself included - won't mark installed on a test site and are waiting for v4 Gold before upgrading our site. Don't look at the number of marked installs as an indication of popularity. This is an awesome mod and will be VERY popular once the bugs get worked out.

Yes, that's true about RC's. Last Friday I downloaded Beta 5, on Sunday someone was talking for RC2, yesterday for RC4 and some hours ago, I got email from vB.com that they'll release Gold on Monday. So, I prefer to wait till Monday. Meanwhile I'm writting down some improvments. So, except predefinied replies, I think that I must add a choice to Technicians to change priority, plus to auto generate FAQ from a Ticket. Also I'm working on a Auctions mod. Didn't found anything here, so I thought that maybe should be helpfull.

Check previous posts. It's a bug in pagination, which appeared at RC2 while it was working fine till Beta 5. I'm waiting the Gold release on Monday to fix it.

Hello,
Sorry for the delay on posting the bug fixes, but I spent my day yesterday to code some toys (widgets) for CMS. I just uploaded the new version which fixes the reported bug in pagination, plus 2 others that I found.
In "All FAQ" listing the droplist action was wrong.
The Average Responce Time, was showing wrong time.All the above bugs fixed. Please note that from now I'll discontinue supporting vB3.x versions, and I'll continue only with vB4. As these versions are totally different in coding and templating, should be a waste of time to work on both.
Now I'm working in a Auction Classifieds mod, so keep an eye here.

Every thing works fine now other than when you go to support.php?do=tickets and click on the Title i get the below error. but it works fine if i click the Action .

You need to go throught the setup (microSUPPORT at admincp) and then to assign usergroup permissions.

Getting sql errors when adding FAQ's... seems like when I make them long and have links in them it acts up.
Also when I click on Help Desk support nav link, it shows the page, but has a error in the status bar below:

I read in your previous post that you are unable to reproduce the issue so this is what I found out.
Use Departments = No
Use Products = Yes
I get the above error message

Disregard... It appears that DB error popped back up. I am wondering if it is something to do with special characters or length of question and/or answer. I was able to create a FAQ with just a few characters and nothing special.
So I was on a mission... I found out that if your answer has ' in it anywhere, you will get the below database error, but just hit back and remove any sign of ' and it works.

Again, this is a great product - and I'm only trying to point out some things I've came accross.
Errors so Far:
1) Must have a Deparments defined even though you have them shut off, or sometimes you will get a sql error.
2) must use SQL Safe strings on insertions/updates.
Things that should be addressed:
1) Force to Pick a department if Deparments are enabled.
2) Force to Pick a Product.
If these forces are not there, they show up blank, and it doesnt work right.

I've double checked the file support.php and is correct, according to vB's style for clearing the inputs. If you see at lines 355-365, you'll find:

In all inputs I'm using input->clean_array_gpc to clean the inputs. Seems that there is a confusinion between TYPE_STR and TYPE_NOHTML. I thought that TYPE_NOHTML adds also slashes before ' which causes SQL errors. I'll check it.
Things that should be addressed:
1) Force to Pick a department if Deparments are enabled.
2) Force to Pick a Product.
Even if I remove the option "Please select", I do believe that users who don't like to "waste" their time, will let the default value. I must try to find a way (with javascript) to use with "onchange".

Thanks for the mod. a couple of suggestion
For guests/not logged in, the mod should ideally use a email based identifier for the user? right now it is cookie based (not sure)?
also, there should be an option to turn FAQs off (use vb's default FAQ system).
have uninstalled it until these changes are incorporated.

I also had to uninstall. I got database errors when I tried to add FAQs and there just seems to be too many issues at this time to have it on my live site.
Once this comes out of Beta I'll be interested. Until then it's just too many headaches.

This message hasn't any meaning of complaining for anything, neighter that I'm apologizing, but I want to make clear some things, that I thought to be self explained.
I know how sad is for anybody, to uninstall a module that he found usefull due to bugs. But believe me, I'm feeling also sad, as it means that I lost my attention somewhere and I brought-up a bug.
If you click on the word "Coder" beside my nickname, you'll see that in a duration of just 10 days since the Gold release of vB4, I've released 2 full mods, 1 addon and 6 ...toys (widgets), while other (commercial) coders have disappeared.
Since Oct 2006, when I released my first free mod, I've released more than 20. For all this work, I got from here just 2 donation at a total of $45. What it means? Simple that I've my own job, for which I need to take care if I want to have the money to live. And because my job is not a 9am-5pm job (I've a Travel Agency office), sometimes I need to spend more than 10 hours a day for it.
Coding is my hobby. I was working for my mods, even on Christmas day (to release microMEMBERS) and I met the new year's eye infront of my PC to release microAUCTIONS.
What I was expecting in exchange? Something very simple, something that everybody expects when is giving a gift. A simple thank you and understanding if my gift dosen't meets your expectations.
Don't know how you use to do in your countries, but in Greece we use to thank for the gift, and later if we find it usefull we use it, otherwise we let it at the back without to use it, but always feeling good for the person who gave us it. We don't drop it on his face, saying: "What bulshit is this...". This is humanity, this is civilazation.I'm really sorry if this post makes some of you to feel uncomfortable, but I had to blow-out what was pressing my mind and my heart.

microSUPPORT will be upgraded and released bug free FOR SURE!!!!!. Unfortunatelly it was my first attempt to vB4 that's why it has bugs, while the 3.8.x version hasn't them. vB4 is very strange. Even if a value exists, it dosen't counts it like to exist, if I don't declare it for use in the template.
Now I became much more familiar with vB. You can understand it easily by seeing microMEMBERS and mostly microAUCTIONS. You'll notice that I even found the way to "colorize" the tables something that gots me lot of time, and it dosen't exists in microSUPPORT. The only that I want is understanding from you (talking in general), that is like to learn a new programming language. So I need time and patiense. That's all. Soon, I promised it in my word, you'll find here this module 100% bug free.

As I promised, I spent the whole day today, to redesign and correct everything reported as bug. I've finished 99% of it, left out for the moment, the re-open function, but I'm very tired to release it today, is better to wait till tomorrow morning.

Hello,
As I promised, I just released microSUPPORT ver.4.4.0, which I do believe that fixes all reported bugs. Using it, it's easily understandable that it has been redesigned from scratch. No more double navbar, no apperance of departments or products in lists, if you've turn them off.
Please pay attention to confirm that the directory microsupport/attachments is CMOD 777. Sometimes, this causes Internal server error, if its not and you're trying to upload attachments.
For those who want to use it just for FAQ, I've to say that they can do it, by setting up usergroup permissions (no ticket posting) and turning off the Reply info block, from microSUPPORT Options.

Please have patience and don't double (actually triple) post. I don't know why your server has incompatibility, with a normal variable assigment. It's sotething that can't corrected from the code, as it's an important variable.

You're lucky that you found it, not only because you can use my mod, but to be honest when I seen that you've wamp server, I was nearly sure that you'll have general problems with PHP itsself.

This is not a standard feature even in commercial scripts. That's why I kept it out to include it in a PRO version, that soon I'll have ready. Don't you think that is fair to get some money from my work? Current version, I do believe, that has 90% of the features that a normal support script needs.

I have installed this back on to test, and I am still getting an internal server error, its on when the user who submits the ticket replies, there is no attachment in the reply, and I have cmod the attachment file to 777, another thing is, I have renamed the HelpDesk to Forum Help, and it hasn't changed the name in the navbar, also the Technician link is showing for users despite 'Is Technician Team?' is set to no.
Sorry maria if its a lot, but I can only give the feedback that I am having at the moment, I like the way you have changed things around though, thanks for sharing :)

For NavBar you need to change the GLOBAL phrase microsupport_support.

On your other version, you could change the name of the hack on the navbar by altering the name in the admincp.
As for internal server error, I have no idea either, I am not a coder so don't even know where to start, so i am sorry will have to uninstall again, I don't think I will ever be able to use otherwise excellent script if you don't know what the problem is either.

This is a dammit bug that I'm trying to fix. Even if there is no real access to that section, only by seeing it is unprofessional. I'm using a plugin for this menu, and seems that needs some deeper test. But be sure that I'll fix it.

Quite correct you are indeed! Good example how errors are made when starting upgrades and modifications when extremely fatigued:eek: It was harder to make my screenshot than to find the LINK LOL

That's why in my old mods I was using 3nd party editor:( Sorry but seems that something was going wrong with the editor, if it works in a non forum mod. eg Bullet lists, images and links.

What type of email you didn't received? As User or as Technician? As Technician all emails are coming to me. If you didn't got email as user, just check your junk mail folder. For sure works, as there are active installations and nobody reported something like this.

Not only new tickets. By defaults the list shows tickets that need technician's reply. Maybe they are new tickets, or tickets that the user has replied on them. And this is the standard in all scripts. Imagine a webmaster who has 1000 tickets and only 20 of them need action?

Thanks for the fast reply. Yeah, the emails sent find to the account I registered at your forum. I was using it merely as a test. But I made a demo account on my forum, and created a ticket, and replied with a technician account and no emails were sent to either account. :(

Please check if:
The mail() function is enabled in your PHP settings. Other emails from vBulletin are working?
Most probably you added your test users from your admincp. Have you assigned email address?

Yes, the mail function seems to work fine with vB. Members get registration emails, PM notification emails etc.

I get technician e-mails but the users do not. Also dont see the users name that created the ticket on the technician menu. I'll try and do some more troubleshooting but have been strapped for time and havnt been able to get to you about it yet.

I've added these features to Pro version, plus some others (eg including the reply text to email). Ok, actually you can't assign specific people but specific email(s), so I count it to be the same.
At a later time I'll release step by step some more functions to Free version. I believe that currently, it gives the average webmaster, 95% of what he needs. eg for me, the free version fits perfect as I'm the only one who is giving support.
Also in the PRO version I've changed a bit the interface to be closer to vB's standards.

i see that you are doing a bang up job on this script but i was reading about you other mods in the earlier version of VB on kayako support and i just so happen to have a copy . i spent some good $$$ on that script and i hate to see it go to wast , is there by any chance that you would be making a integration script for this in the future. But the really nice thing about you script here is that it is part of vb so there is no template work that is a big plus. I wish you the best of luck on this script and if you come out with a product or a pro version for some $$$ i might be very interested. and i will just try to sell off my Kayako license .

First of all, thank you for your kind words. I totally understand you, as like you, I've spent thousant in PHP scripts (including Kayako). There is a PRO version, in my site for $50 (including Brand Free). Is not Kayako, but works fine, having the features that you'll really use and not toys to play. In addtional to Free version, it has extra ticket fields, predefinied replies, ability to post a ticket as FAQ (even in multiple categories), abitily to setup email address(es) per department (to inform for new tickets and replies), and more vB like interface.

1.- Let's say that you're runing a hosting company. You can setup extra fields to collect data like FTP username, FTP password etc
2.- On the same way, if you're operating a shop, you can collect data like order nbr, license nbr etc.

Nothing so special (in my opinion) but many users asked for it. I moved the menu options at navbar, I merged my navbar with vb's navbar and finally the sidebar is like vb's sidebar.

I found a bug that at least in my system exists. Every field that uses getRecordById() fails badly. I can't figure out why you are using direct mysql functions only in that function.
Anyway if anybody has problems not displaying Departments, Products and posters etc.. This is what you have to do.

But have another now, you know when you go to the ticket in the todo section, when you reply to the ticket I get a
500 Internal Server Error
when I refresh the message it is there
I installed version 4.4.2 today and I'm also getting this problem. The ticket actually submits, but I get the error when the browser tries to go to the next page. Any ideas?

Great modification, but I am having some problems. Once on the main page of microSUPPORT, all I can see is this:

Had this problem too. Strange negative response time. Even after some upgrades.
Finaly I deleted all (test) tickets and created a new ticket from scratch, now it shows normal positive response timing again.

So that only users in a special membergroup are seing the HelpDesk button.

I tried on of the links you posted and got a broken link, when I go to www.microhellas.com I have to register before I can see any information about any products - however the register link just takes me to a broken page.

Thank you Maria. Short update of my post earlier:
The Title is being displayed. Only the Department and Product is not being displayed when you watch the submitted Ticket under "My Tickets".
Another thing i?ve noticed:
I?m running my forum in english (USA) language. In the Options I can specify an own text for submitted ticket, updated ticket and closed ticket. Regardless what i?m entering there, it is not displayed in the emails at all. Just a standard english text. Is this normal?
Another side question:
Are you probably going to enhance this product so that Ticket Numbers will be generated? And is it possible that probably the person who submitted the Ticket will be notified via either Email or PM or probably both? Or if that is not an option, is it possible to have a visual information visible on the Forum Home when you login such as "Your Ticket Has been updated" or "Please check your Tickets"?

Do you have any news on this? I have unininstalled the mod and rebuilt all styles. Then i?ve reinstalled the Mod again but still have the issues. I know this is Beta of course so I shouldn?t ask for support anyway :)
But it would be nice if there is something else on my forum that probably messes up your Mod. And why do I use Departments if I cannot assign a newly submitted Ticket to a particular Helpdesk Person? Or is Departments just charismatic?
Don?t get me wrong Maria. I?m just trying to understand you Mod and it?s way of operational tasks :)

My custom style didn't seem to work on the microsupport pages. Adding

Is there a way, when guest wants to send a question, not to register, just to send the question with a mandatory field for the email of the guest who sends the question?

I have been using this great addon for a month now, its great.
Wanted to thank you personaly for the hard work!
If I could add more suggestions you might missed or things you havent tought of it would be the following:
Filter tickets by poster
Search tickets
Mass close tickets (using radio buttons)
the ability to "assign" a ticket to a certain technitian
statistics of products\departments
make permissions per department, only permitted allowed to view\close ticket per department
Limit poster to X open tickets
add more status's and the ability to change status ourselves
Email all related repliers in a ticket when it was replied (like Starred tickets)
