Here is what ya do, After extracting the files open the upload folder, open the includes folder ,open the xml folder and remove the bitfield_vbhtabs.xml file . Place that file into the xml folder in the upload/includes/xml file on your server, Then add the other xml file through the plugin feature in your admin control panel.

I had the same problem, but after fooling with it a bit that was answer.

I actually tried that too! I have no clue what the issues is here!!

yes you can do that give me the links you want to show in the bar the user groups you want to see it and the tab name in a pm

If you don't know what you are saying you shouldn't say it. There is absolutely nothing harmful or "bloated" in this script.

I used this for quite a while but it now causes a conflict with vb 4.1.7 on... editor plus members say the tabs are acting up.. Have to uninstall :(

You know what, I have to retract this statement right now and apologize because it was another Tab mod. I removed it a while ago and thought is was yours. I'm sorry but I don't recall which one but it was a Java conflict with the editor. Yours is fine and nicely done.

Just an FYI, when upgrading to 4.1.8, I get this error message on boards, until I disabled this mod.

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/includes/class_bootstrap.php(426) : eval()'d code on line 11

Just upgraded to 4.1.8, and using the new 1.3 version from ForceHSS's signature (see one of his posts above), I'm not encountering any issues.

And ForceHSS, thank you for the update to this mod :) Maybe someday we can get the main download updated...

I downloaded file to home computer ( vBH-ADD new tabs ) i doubled clicked that on Upload the XLM file from your computer on the Manage Products / Add Import product in Admin CP. But the message i get is

XML Error: not well-formed (invalid token) at Line 1

Can you explain ( walk me through ) with screenshots or something please.. I know if i can successfully do this then i will understand future Plug Ins..

I am just Double Clicking the Folder, So it is probably being added as a Zip Folder. I did unzip it and tried to add as a URL , but that didnt work either,, I have managed to add the Plug in now but with No Download Material, so it now shows in Manage Products, so can i now add the download by Editing the Plug In..

yes it works with 4.1.8. It could be other plugins you have as I have never heard of it giving a problem with the css

without more info hard to help, php file, link to site, screenshots anything that would help also the link you are putting into the new tab box or a screenshot of it

edited after talking to him with skype his problem was nothing to do with this plugin and i told him to make a request in paid section

if you dont have <!-- / nav buttons bar --> (only one older versions then) then put it some where else this is why in post 822 I told you to test it but the best thing you can do is move some tabs to your footer as you dont need some of them on the header

Great Mod but it lacks a few features which would make it perfect.

Here's my situation. I use this mod to add links to 3 of my main cms sections ... problem is, I can keep the tab selected on the section page itself but not on the individual articles in the section. Is this something that could "easely" be added as functionality?

Also, my forum has only 1 thread (don't ask :p) and I used this mod to add a "forum" tab which directly links to my thread (I used the mod to disable to standard forum tab). I would also like to keep the tab "forum" active when people are browsing this one thread.

About the thread ... this mod works if I set the tab to URL_parameter to http://localhost/showthread.php?t=539 which is the URL of the thread, but the tab doesn't remain selected when using a "new post" link like http://localhost/showthread.php??goto=newpost&t=539

If you want to link your home tab copy the full url and in the Tabs Selected box put home not vbcms. What you see in Add new tabs URL and Text box is only a guide read what it says to the left of that box. You can delete all default text in both boxes and add your own things

Can someone please help me with downloading this? I just got my website up. I have vBulletin Publishing Suite 4.1.11, and I really want to be able to have two forums, and multiple news sections, and multiple blogs on my website, as well as additional customized tabs, such as one for selling books or something.

One would be on one tab, and the other would be next to that tab (you know, where it says "Forum" on the top of the page).

Basically it would be "Forum 1" and "Forum 2", for example. And then there would be a "Blog 1" and a "Blog 2". And a "News 1" and "News 2".

Is this possible within vBulletin 4.1.11 Publishing Suite? I really want to have this for my website.

It appears that this is what this mod does, where we can choose what each tab says. But would I be able to have a second entire Forum section with this?

Also, can someone please tell me the most current download of this file, with the most improvements? I saw that it was revised many times throughout this series of posts.

Can someone go through with me, step by step on how to actually download this and implement it into my vBulletin? I really don't want to mess up any of my stuff so far because it took a lot of work and learning to get it to where it is now. And I apologize - I am a complete novice with this stuff.

Alright, I just ran it. Now what do I do? I have a folder with an "upload" folder and an XML Document that says "product-vbh_newtabs10".

In the "upload" folder there is another folder called "includes". Inside that folder is a folder that says "xml". Inside the "xml" folder is an XML Document called "bitfield_vbhtabs".

What do I do? You must remember, I am a moron, and know nothing about computers, making websites, or implementing code.

Sorry just getting back to you about this.. The links are good when I remove the What's New tab, but they lose formatting for some reason. I believe it's because in the templates, they are in <ul> tags under whatever tab is selected. like this...

Maybe it's not clear what I'm trying to do. I have the vB default "Home" tab linked to the CMS index. In the vBH added on tabs, I've linked to 3 other CMS Static Article pages. All 3 of these pages in the THIS_SCRIPT it says 'vbcms'. So when any of those tabs are clicked, it shows the "Home" tab selected. I need to figure out how to change those individual page THIS_SCRIPT to something different, so it will recognize it separate from the Home tab.

here are the tab links I have listed.

Chapters|content.php?114-tx4wd-chapters=>self
Wheelin|content.php?117-where-to-wheel=>self
Resources|content.php?140-off-road-resources=>self
Albums|album.php=>self
Calendar|calendar.php=>self

And the Home tab links to the content.php main CMS page. So the "Chapters", "Wheelin", and "Resources" tabs need separate THIS_SCRIPT tags.

Did this help? Do you think this is possible?

on my page, the links are bold and not underlined, but with the what's new tab disabled, and you click new posts, those links in the navbar lose the formatting and are not bold, and are underlined..

No fix... US the new navigation manager under options to add tabs etc...this mod is only good up to vb4.1.22pl1... the Jabber / bar / hooks have all changed

I have not installed the 4.2.0 yet but what I had heard it is going to end the usefulness of this mod, the new update comes with a build it tab creator.

Just installed 4.1.12, and this mod is causing the following error:

Line 18 of class_bootstrap.php is simply a closing comment tag ( */ ), so I don't see how that can be a problem?

Also took a look at line 438:
($hook = vBulletinHook::fetch_hook('parse_templates')) ? eval($hook) : false;
But that doesn't tell me anything, either.

How do I fix?

disable all other plugins and just run this one as it could be another plugin that is causing the problem. Once all disabled and this one is the only one running check for error if none turn each one on checking for errors to find out the plugin causing the problem
make sure you are using the updated one in my sig

I know this mod is redundant in vB4 because the navigation manager does this for you, but I've got to this thread from another talking about adding an additional blog.

any guide on uninstalling this product, when I do it through the Manage Products | Uninstall I just get a blank screen and nothing happens... looking at the page source its giving a 500 Server Error...

when looking back in Manage Products, it's still there...
