After installing I see no options for auto edits. In the admincp > vbulletin options > vmoods by luqmanamjad - all I have are 3 settings - active - dropdown menu - vmood images to preload.

Am I missing something, somewhere?

I upgraded, but now the moods are missing from the navbar and postbit. I've managed to add $vmoods_postbit, but it only shows the text.

For the navbar I tried adding $vmoods_form and nothing shows up, but if I just add $vmoods all that shows up is "Array".

Fantastic ! - Just one small problem - with a vbadvanced module.

But when I change this for the 3.8 version on the vbadvanced pages the width and height of the image are undefined - this is from the page source, so no image shows up - Anyone been able to fix this?

Running vb 3.8.3. The product is not showing the two different mood packs available. It only shows vmoods as an option for the mood packs in vBulletin Options.

Using custom style and images are not showing.

I can't get this working. I've uninstalled old version and managed to get it to show up as shown in the attached screenshot, but I can't choose any moods - it just says "My Moods: - [reset]

Heh...I didn't forget to upload it...I just realized that when I did, there were actually two folders named vMoods. It was late...and I wasn't thinking clearly. ;)

Anyway...I have it working...also have it working on the vbAdvanced portal page. I just need to get it working on those pages I use with Logician's Template mod.

Other than that...it's all good, Sniper. I'm sure I speak for a lot of those who use this mod when I say..."Thanks for the update!"

I'm not sure whether that was directed at me or sniper. You could certainly try and re-size that image and insert it over another mood and then title it. I wouldn't personally add that particular mood because I didn't design it and will not touch authors graphics. If I were to design one that you specified it would be in the theme I did for the others for the sake of consistency. I'll try and add one here over the coming days or as time permits.

3.7.1 - I've not tried it myself, plus I've added a check in to make sure it can only be installed on 3.8.x but will remove that check on the weekend so you can give it a try.

I figured it out, working perfectly fine! I had a div wrapped round the variable with style="text-align:center;", no wonder I couldnt see the text :)

Also...there may be those who are using Logician's WebTemplates 3.7.x: VB Integrated CMS (Content Management System) (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=186644). If you are...and the form for the dropdown is not appearing or performing correctly on those pages...here's the fix:

Open view.php and find the following code:

Right after that code, you're going to have to add the code from the global_setup_complete hook of this mod. This code can be found in VBOptions/Plugins & Products/Plugin Manager for vBulletin 3.8.3. Just click to edit that plugin...copy the code and paste that code after //construct_forum_jump(); in the view.php file.

What version of vbulletin are you using?

First thing I'd check is to make sure you're using the correct mod for your version of vBulletin. Also verify the directory name to where your forum is located. If vbulletin is installed in a directory named 'forum', then use forum. If it's installed in a directory called 'forums', then use forums...when using the fix for vBAdvanced.

When you uploaded the vMoods directory to your forum root, did you upload the vmoods folder or both the vMoods directory and the vmoods folder?

When you unzip the package to your desktop, there's a vMoods folder. Inside that folder is the vmoods folder you need to upload to your forum root. Don't just unzip the package to your desktop and upload that folder to your forum root. Make sure you read the new install directions carefully at the beginning of this mod thread.

Just one quick question? Has anyone taken it upon themselves to redo these for dark background forums? I love this mod but it has the white pixels around the moods. If nobody else has done this already and cares to share perhaps I will do it myself. I've never edited animated images though. Not sure they would be animated when I finish with them though..

The fixes I posted are for people experiencing issues with vBAdvanced and Logician's Webtemplates mod. If you are having a problem with the vmoods displaying incorrectly on one of your template pages, then you can try the fix. Remember...you do so at your own risk.

All I know are...these edits worked for me.

I'm sure sniper won't mind. I'm sure he won't as I was testing this script before release. I've attached the files I'm using on my forum though I can't guarantee this will work as it's adapted to work on my custom style.

Because I have modified the css for postbit_legacy you may need to adjust the settings if your using the legacy layout.

Great mod, worked right out the gate for me.

Only issue I have is the shelly images have white pixels on them on my dark background that make them look not so good.

Any idea if there will be a dark background release of this icon pack?

Blaze Im not shelly and am unsure why you would be getting that problem. Perhaps is a version issue or custom template issue? What is your VB version and do you use a template?

I did what you ask about a million times :P, same thing showing "Array" if I disable "Auto Edit The Template (all pages)".

Please note that with the above option on it works good so I really think that the problem is not from our end...

Same issue.

My Process:

+ Upload /vmoods/ contents to /forumsdirectory/vmoods/
+ Once finished, I import the product via local copy
+ Settings and templates are there, am able to set options
+ When using $vmoods, it display "Array", I'm doing this in the navbar template with auto-edit off.

I'm using 3.8.3, all other mods like v3Arcade and Photoplog work. Due to the nature of the board, I can't expose it's identity (personal community with privacy needs) but would be willing to mirror the installation with wiped users/posts if you'd like to figure it out.

All I feel is the problem is that the array is not being identified on the page. Until the mod is installed and active, it won't show "Array", so it's the script not doing it correctly with the setup.

I am getting very confused by all the different versions of this mod.

According to my ACP, I am currently running "vMoods By ZONE365.COM version 1.1". I do know I originally had the old Mood manager installed. But now I don't know whether what's installed now is your version, Sniper, or someone else's update to your mod.

If my currently installed version is indeed the predecessor to this mod, to I follow your upgrade instructions? or your delete and reinstall instructions?

Well...no offense, but it doesn't specify any upgrade info for those users who currently have version 3.8.0007, or 3.8.0008 already installed.

There is new installation instructions in the Read Me, as well as Upgrade instructions for versions 1.x and 2.0.x.

However...not to seem like a "dummy" what if you already have a previous version of 3.8.000x installed?

I uploaded the entire vmoods folder into my forums folder. I must have done something wrong, am I supposed to upload the contents of the folder separately?

To clarify: what I did was just upload the folder vmoods, as is, into my forums folder. Should I have uploaded the contents of the vmoods folder into my forums folder, rather than the intact entire folder?

There aren't any other items to upload such as into the includes or other folders? I uploaded and added the xml

Anyway, vmoods does not work at all, period. Nothing appears - no pull down menu, nothing.

sorry not willing to offer support for none-standard templates, I'd suggest disabling "auto edits" and using the variables $vmoods and $vmoods_postbit.

im using a style with the Private Messages and member details in the header in a small area "box", thats why i'd like to be able to add a code to make moods appear in UserCP so members can change it there.

Actually resize them not just specify via the code... that's why they look terrible.

Great mod, a few pointers if manually placing:

The phrases i.e. $vmoods & $vmoods_postbit etc work best within TD tags or in certain parts of the template so it will display right. That old trick for using code instead of the phrase would not work for me, it would not retain the image, it would revert back to "none" on page change/refresh etc. So keep tinkering and don't give up IF manually placing and remember to turn thos phrase options off in the vBulletin Options for this mod IF again, your manually placing.

The moods have been contributed by other members of vb.org community, so I don't have access to the PSD files.

I use IE8. Tell your member to check that IE8 has not disabled scripting, which I believe it does by default. He can either enable javascript or add your forum to his "trusted sites", which I think allows scripting.

I haven't used the default security settings for IE for years and my upgrade to IE8 retained my IE7 settings, so my comments about default settings are from memory.

The other, though less likely, possibility is that there is something about your Vbulletin installation that is conflicting with the IE8 compatibility settings. If the scripting issue doesn't pan out, tell him to try setting IE8 to use compatibility view for the forum.

All of these can be done from the IE8 Tools menu (Internet Options and Compatibility View Settings).

I've seen people saying the mod doesn't work - Well - unfortunately the upgrade did not work correctly on my board either. I think there may be some sort of conflict for those who had the previous version installed. I had to completely uninstall the new mod and reupload the old product. The 3.7 version works just fine for me - so I suppose the old adage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here.

Anyway - still a wonderful modification if you can get it installed properly.

I have run across the following issue when using Internet Explorer 7, or 8:

This is happening on my vBAdvanced CMPS portal page, as well as my Arcade pages. Look at the first attached image...you will see a red circle surrounding a dot. If I hover the mouse pointer over the dot, it gives me the alt tag for my mood.

The second attached image shows what happens when I click this dot. The menu expands and shows the images...but take a look at the spacing as compared to the third attached image which shows the menu working fine within all other forum pages...including my Links Directory and Downloads pages. I can also change my mood, but no image shows...just a dot.

I have tried changing the Auto Edit The Template (all pages) from "yes" to "no" and manually adding $vmoods to the navbar template. It works for the forum pages, but not for the vBAdvanced portal page or the Arcade...in this case...nothing shows up at all (on the portal page or the Arcade pages) when this setting is at "no" and I have manually added the $vmoods code to the navbar template.

One last thing...the mod works flawlessly in the latest versions of Firefox, Opera and Safari.

So why not Internet Explorer 7, or 8?

I really would appreciate some advice here. If I can't get it working within the portal page or Arcade pages for Internet Explorer...then I'm going to have to remove it. That would be a shame, too...since all my members (including myself) absolutely love this mod.

Uninstalled and went with 3.7.0 version since it works for IE and FF on 3.8.3.

Just pointing out what Saviour just said completely solved any issues with it not appearing on VB Advanced pages.

To fix it go in to the vmoods template, find the 2 sets of heights & widths and actually enter in the size for the image set you are using rather than letting it find out for you.

For your other problem find vmoods_postbit Template and remove the code highlighted in red. Once you do this you'll need to go into the css file and adjust the padding accordingly.

If you have this problem, it's because the folder where your images are isn't named properly. It should be (foldername)_(imagedimensions), example in the zip is shelley_93x30.

I seem to be having trouble as well. I have uploaded the files to the server and I see the folders with the shelley pack, but in the vbulletin options, it is only showing classical under the mood packs.

It is also giving me the classic moods in a list of bullets with no icons. I have reread this thread because someone said it was addressed already, but I am not seeing it. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hi, This mod is great, working fine with the default theme, but when I try to install it on my other theme I cant get it to work.

The dropdown box won't show at all, no matter where I try putting it.

In the theme I'm using, the welcome box, last visit, etc is located in the header template instead of navbar.

Could you point me towards where and how I'm supposed to put $vmoods_form ?


Any help is much appreciated :)

EDIT: I figured it out. In the readme file it said use $vmoods_form to place the dropdown box where you like, but I had to use $vmoods to get it working. Great stuff :)

Has anyone else found that when you have Vbadvanced installed it will not change on any page that has vbadvanced on it, it will only change on the forum pages :(

I read more than 1 problem here with vba cmps and ie.
My longtime customer also has this problem with her vb3.8.2 and latest vbadvanced cmps version.

please note that this problem only in ie and vba cmps, in the forum it shown.firefox both shown.

I just want to tell that I see it in vbadvanced cmps portal and in internet explorer, the vmoods code is there just it is not showing. I saw an empty css value for width and height in the custom css above it but thats not the problem.

the only solution is to defined the width and height for the vmood image.

in the product-vmoods.xml
find:

When I try to add $vmoods to that div it tweaks the layout. What do I have to do to the CSS to make that work? It worked in the older version of vMoods but not now :( Any help is greatly appreciated. :up:

Ever since I had to reinstall the vmood, it isn't working. It shows all the images and "seems" like everything is fine, but when you actually click on any mood, nothing would be selected. It was working fine before I reinstalled... what did I do wrong this time? Please see the screenshot I've attached...

Just a quick comment, i installed this mod today and im getting a extra "_" visable on my forums immediatly after the drop down box, ive not modified any of the templates after installing and ive looked over everything and cannot personally see anything.

Anyone have this same occurance and know were it is?

Can you release a version of your moods pack that is in PNG format, No Matte, Transparent BG?

This will enable us to adjust the vmood coding to accept a PNG file and display it in place of the GIF files as PNG better supports transparencies, and are becoming (have become?) a much more prevalent graphic to utilize in place of GIFs when the design requires a transparency. This format as I have placed it will also seamlessly integrate the transparency with *any* background color (no more jaggies ever!) and will allow us to use a single mood pack across all of our themes and styles on our websites without worrying about whether the graphics will look like part of the design or simply thrown on the website for giggles.

I am new to editing templates, but I would like to add the moods to the postbit under the post count maybe? If I am editing the postbit legacy, where do I enter the code?

I suppose this is probably more of an issue of me learning coding in which case, can someone recommend a good place to go for learning that?

Should do it.

Go into your Admin CP and click vBulletin Options, choose vMoods from the drop down and there is a option to change which moods you want available to your members.

Just delete the moods you dont want off that list :)

It will look ugly wherever you put it unless someone can come up with a groovy way.

This is a solution to fix the alignment problem in the navbar. :)

Go into the vbmoods Css replace vbmoods container line of code with the following. I set the padding-top to 18 pixels so it's sitting flush on the bottom.

Can this mod be found on the User Cp? As I installed a new style and it doesn't appear on it because the Welcome area thing is on the header. And I don't know really where else I could put it (nor do I know how to get it working there). So is there are way to put this to User Cp, so users can select their moods from there?

Shame I won't be using the next version though it's good to hear your developing this further sniper. I personally wouldn't start developing this until at least gold. In anycase, I'll be supporting this in another way by introducing new mood icons in the foreseeable future. :)

I have had no luck getting this, or many other mods to work on any pages outside the forum root (vBadvanced here). I have discovered that is more to do with the way we've set these things up than with mods not integrating properly. In my case, the fact that vBulletin 3's native index page is more than happy to become anything else you need it to be means that I should have never put the forums into a "forums" folder with a portal page as my index outside of it. Virtually ALL of my integration problems have stemmed from that single, common mistake.

Undoing the damage is simple, but the effect it will have on your linkbacks/google standings are gonna suck.
