Here is my situation. I put my forums at www.polishedandwaxed.com/forums and I had a separate home page at www.polishedandwaxed.com. I want the index.php that vb uses as my home page now. How do I go about this?
I also tried to put wordpress for my homepage and now my forum is down? What do I need to remove to get the forum back up? Here is what is in my main directory.

remove or rename the index.html
or
go get your index.php from vb.com
or
add a redirect to your home page so it goes to your forum home page

if I remove the index.html that is currently listed in the directory above what will happen?
How do I get my" index.php from vb.com? and what will this do?
I dont want to do the last one.
Thanks

and I said to rename the index.html.. something like bak-index.html so you can always rename it back
the reason why I suggested that, is you have an index.html and an index.php
well the html one overrides the php one, so if you rename the html one to something other than index, the browser will pick up the php one
but those are all outside your forum, so they really don't answer your question, it will simply allow the site.com/index.php to work

so my forum should have been uploaded to the main directory? and not the sub forums folder?

you can upload the forum to whatever folder you want
Like my two forums, the forum is uploaded to a folder, and I have a wordpress blog in the root of both

I changed the index.html to bak-index.html?
can you see what is conflicting with vb and not allowing it to open @ www.polishedandwaxed.com/forums. It got screwed up after I uploaded the wordpress files into the main folder. I want to fix that first. If you want a pic of the contents of a folder lmk. Could the current index.php be from the wordpress?
I dont believe I had a home tab on my forums, or else it went right the forums home and not to the index.php page ? ex http://www.detailingbliss.com/index.php I never had this page with the calender and stats, todays birthdays etc.

did you change anything in the config.php file?
the error is showing it isn't connecting to the DB

i think i changed the pw on the db, does the forum need the pw to load or what not? and where do I go to change it?

you shouldnt have changed anything. all you need to do is: make a new folder named "oldhome". Move all your files in your main dir to that folder (ONLY move the files, not the other folders.)
Now go into your forum folder, & move everything in your forum folder into your main dir
this should work...

I think im either missing something or when I originally uploaded it I omitted the home page and just used the forum home page? Can you tell what may be missing from the files below?
