hi
my furom has 115000 posts, and that size is over 500MB
why ?
my attachments saved into my host, but why sql size is too big ?

What about your avatars, profile pictures and signature pictures? Are they stored in the database or in the filesystem?

And don't forget the search indexes. They take up allot of space too.

Have a look in phpMyAdmin, to see which tables take up the most space. That way, you can concentrate on finding solutions. Nevertheless, for a 100,000+ posts forum, a 500mb database is not extreme. In fact, it's about normal I think.

Table Name = Size MB
cronlog = 17.70
post = 116.84
postindex = 52.75
thread = 18.00
word = 19.32
and others, were less than 15MB and bigger than 5MB, like RSSLOG table was 9MB and many more ...

That's +/- 250MB together. Strange that all those other, small tables together also take 250MB :)

You can prune the cron log and other logs at the "Statistics & Logs" part of the AdminCP.
