I have openx javascript invocation codes working in both vBa CMPS and throughout my board headers and Ultimate Side Columns.
These work really well except I have a number of users who switch to "Clear Style" in frustration because they have very slow internet connections.
What I would like to offer is a properly branded "lite" version of each of my styles - currently two blues and a black;
therefore I would have
arcBLUE
arcBLACK
arcBLUElite
arcBLACKlite
The lite versions of the style would be exactly the same except I want the image banners replaced with the alt text (or similar) from the campaign ad that would otherwise be served up by the invocation code for that zone.
Another, more stylish, solution I thought about would be to define a second zone for each area and create text/html (fast loading) banners for the "lite-zones" and only serve that invocation code in the lite templates.
I would appreciate your thoughts and wonder if this is the right way to approach this problem.
At the moment people are able to avoid the sponsors ads and my site branding because they have slow connections and I want to respect their choice to choose lighter pages without cutting the sponsors out of their investment, and losing my branding.
TIA
Will
