I am seeing the white boxes with red x inside left and right above forum catergories when viewing with Internet Explorer. Someone said it was a skin problem. ? I am a novice so any help in fixing this will be much appreciated but remember I am a newbie not very technical. TIA

It means that it cannot find the image in the skin.
Right click it, hit properties, and tell us the "location".
Post the code that displays the image, I'll have a look to see where it went wrong.

Make sure you have uploaded the files for your theme to the folder 'hybrid'

Sigh previous message wouldn't post.
If you could post your code, as well as make sure ALL images are uploaded to their required directory, it'd be a help. I'm thinking that the code is pointing towards one directory and the images are in the other.
Eg/ ..
/images
is different to
./images
depending where it's used.
Similarly, ../images is different to either.

This only happens in IE on windows? I bet it happens in Safari on Mac too.
The issue comes from "corrupted" images. Images that experience errors either during the upload process or the creation process. If you edit the images in photoshop and "save for web and devices" - it should ensure that the image is cleaned of all errors and will work for the native browsers.

Where do I find this code ?

Dude, I'm not kidding. If the images are there in Firefox and Opera, and not internet explorer, then it's a corrupted image file. I had that same problem approx. 2 weeks ago.

You could be right. I found the code with cat_top_ls.gif & cat_top_rs.gif in the template -forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost and removed it. Everything looks fine now. I did hear you on your first post and went to find the code with those images. Something that would take you and others minutes to find and change takes me well lets just say a long time but I learn that way.
Thanks for the replies and help. !
