ABOUT THIS MOD
This mod give correct E-mail via new user-register , Send code to email before go to register form step , and this new user can't reg without this code (in Email) , with this product u can make sure about your new user in your forum . And u can verify E-mails in user update his/her Email .

ADVANTEGS OF PRODUCT .

Option to swithching this Addon "ON" or "OFF" .
Option to SET custom PREFIX for veify code ( to make it harder for someone to decrypt it.)
option to SET Number of days after which we will delete the verification code form the database.
Option to hide E-mail field's in register form .
Option to use Image Verification.
Option to verify E-mails in user update email in usercp.

There's a serious issue with this mod. If a user clicks on the verification-link in his email, fills in all fields in the vbulletin-registration-form and if there should be an error in this registration form so that the register-page gets reloaded, the "verification-code"-field is suddenly empty after the page has been refreshed (for example if the user has entered a wrong captcha).

And the english translation is not very good.

I have installed this hack on a vbulletin 3.6.8 board and it seems to be very buggy, I first received errors with turning on the verification code so I turned it off. Next I entered my email address, when to my email service and received a email, though instead of copying the verification code or click on the link, I went back to the page where I entered my email to verify my email and instead I pressed the "Go" button and it went right away to the registration page, and on neither pages did it ask me to enter the verification code or anything. Though if I clicked the verification link in my email it worked fine. Hope you can fix these errors... Thanks!

I am getting same results. I use 3.7.4. I than turned off Image Verification in this program, and it works. Issue is once accept Forum Rules it moves to next phase asking what is email. Enter email than moves to next phase of registration, but no question asking what is code under were you would enter username. Registration form is same as before mod installed. Email never received from forum with code to be used.

So now I repeat, accept Forum Rules, enter email, and it says "The email address you entered is already in use. If you have forgotten or lost your verification code, please click here.". Now at this point it does send an email with Verification Code. By clicking on here you will be prompted to enter email again causing "register.php?do=vMail_restore".

If you do that it will email code again. Now if you stop process, and don't do the above action "register.php?do=vMail_restore" and click on the link in email to complete registration it takes you back to forum, you have to click on register, and than accept forum rules, and than select Have Verification Code?, and enter it. It does nothing but take back to main forum again were you have to click on register.

My question is has this been tested on 3.7, and my thoughts are no, and it wont. Lot's of bugs. Nice mod, and I hope it can be corrected to work on 3.7.

Looks great but I will have to watch this one only until the reported bugs get worked out. Once that happens this sort of system should be standard vb code. First it needs to work though. I see too many people reporting bugs to even try this yet...

Using a custom theme and quite a few other mods, but can't think of anything that would mess with vMail. If i disable the mod or remove it, it's fine.

This is copied from the mod update history for this current 2.0.1 version: "function not found in others (not 3.8)". Surely you understand what he meant is that this only works for 3.8.X because of new functions exclusively for this series. You may need to search for the previous version which was meant for 3.7.X.

I noticed that when I installed it in the product manager, it showed a lot of different database filed changes and/or style. Unfortunately it happened too fast and I didn't get to see it all. i'm having also a problem... after clicking the URL i get on my email, i get redirected to the register page.

First problem happens that i cannot see any field under the username with the code (?), and second problem is that after filling up all required fields and click register button i get redirected again to the first step (get register code by filling email address).

I've just installed the mod & it works as stated. Most of the issues that ppl are posting are due to the fact they do not complete each task or read the instructions on each step, which is posted on each page and email.

I do have one question however, I had already set up the Human Verification system that comes with vB & now it does both, which is kinda redundant. Instead of replacing the old one, it simple adds this mod to the first stage of the registration process, but you still have to go through the other steps as well.

This may detour new members as now I have one of the longest and most detailed registration process with two Text Image verifications & two email validations. Is this what you intended or was I to disable the old one? I would think only 1 email varification & one image verification would be needed.

There is a HUGE bug on this mod. If vMail is used to confirm e-mail changes, this error will show up:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method class_vMail::Cleaning() in profile.php(182) : eval()'d code on line 18

The reason this error shows up is that the script calls to a function called Cleaning that DOES NOT EXIST.

To fix this, you will have to edit the plugin called "vMail - Functions" and add the following function:

I've tired again and Installed, It seems to be working with registration but the part where you change your email in your control panel seems dodgy, it sends you the email no problem but when you go to the links in the email its a fatal error so I've disabled that function for now.

I've had one member join succesfully using it and I've also tested it but I've not had anyone register for a few days now. Worrying!

So when the user submits the forum, the code is not passed - thus the error. So, the fix would be how to manually add this field back...

Almotmaiz.Net, here are the question & proposal for you.

We have the "Option to hide E-mail field's in register form".

As I can see the only difference for this one is if the user will see the email or not.

Because he is not able to change email during second stage of registration (after he clicked the link in email).
He will be told that email is not the same as for that verification code.


The question is:
What was the idea for this option? Trap to fool the bots? I really can't understand.


The proposal is (really depend on the above answer):
May be we can make those fields none editable?

In other words add readonly like this (just an example):

We used to get signups daily from spam bots...even though they were auto blocked it was still annoying to have them continue to register and waste precious resources.

Since installing this mod we have had ZERO spam signups. It has also eliminated members from entering a bunk e-mail addy only to have the registration fail when they can't confirm it.

I re-installed this due to a banned member that kept registering under fake emails with not so nice user names. In vBulletin on their email conferm, their username shows up at the bottom of the forum before the confirm their email, this mod puts a stop to it. Thank you!

but I found that after the email had been sent and I went through to the next page to enter the verification code I clicked the forget code link and refilled in my email address again and then I received 2 emails with the verification code . So although I have the add-on working it is not working 100% for me. Shame as it is just what the doctor ordered

vBulletin sends you a verification code AFTER the user is registered on the forum.
So if the user entered WRONG email or PROBLEM email during registration this is a headache.

This mod checks user's email BEFORE registration.
If the email is OK then the user continue his registration.

P.S. Why not to install on a test board and not to see in action.
Use the version from this post 1846245 - it has know bugs fixed.

Incorrect code is Incorrect code.

There are 3 types of "code" images in vBulletin.

Try to use another one.

In any way this mod uses vBulletin's images so this is not a problem of this mod.

WOW your version of the product seems to work just fine for me. I just tested on my site and the email of the code actually works now!

Daaa whats the point of verifying an email if your not going to make a real check my sending the email in the first place? This hack now works and there are two versions of a fixed product file available.

It is so nice to have all new memberships already email confirmed in my AdminCP! This must be taken over by VB and made the standard!

I agree and if VB does take it over then that is a great thing. I see great potential for it. This mod destroyed our DB and even VB was not able to reinstall or correct the database issue. I got reported as a spammer, troll, etc for bringing this statement here but it is fact. If it had not been for the daily backups we make it would have been a complete disaster. Thankfully our host maintains our backups through a cron backup system. I hope for the future that this can be a viable mod, lord knows we need it due to spammers, I personally cannot chance this again. Nothing personal, just the facts of what occurred.

The only way to see this one is to use default style and test on it.

Another BUG I noticed while Testing is:

When I Introduce the 2 Image Codes (Captchca), and they're wrong and I click the Go Back Button of the Browser and Re-Introduce the Codes, ALL the Times I Get a Captchca Code Verification Error, not even by Refreshing the Capthca Codes I can Pass this Second Step; I have to Return to the First Step of the Registration Process, Accept Again the Rules, and Re-Introduce the Codes and E-mail Again for it to Go On; I Know that but Current Users Won't Know What to Do in that Situation. :confused:

I Hope You Can Fix that, because Many Users Won't Introduce Well the Codes; Perhaps would be Better to Re-Upload the Complete Page Again (Bringing the Introduced E-mail) and Notify about the Error on the Top of the Page, (like in the Final Step of the Registration Process where Username, E-mail and Password are Asked, and of course the Captchca Verification Code if Decided to Use it on that Final Step of the Registration Process). :confused:

Alright, First I will attempt to use only the default theme. Next I will attempt it with all plugins off. I am wondering if it is conflicting with another mod. I will post back the results.

I tried things both ways. First, default theme with mods; second with all mods disabled. Neither will work. If I try to reuse the emails I used it will tell me that they are in use yet when searching in the admin panel I cannot find either account. When you click lost code it sends 2 email but otherwise sends nothing. Not sure what the issue is. I will attempt a clean install on a test board to see what happens.

I am using Captcha as well. I do not get the errors you speak of but I wonder if there is something in common. Even though I tested with the mods disabled I am wondering if a code change is producing the issue.
