Not to disrespect your hard work. But i dont understand this mod. Why would someone want to allow a user to make a "Forum". Isnt this the samething as making a forum from the forum manager?

I just dont get this mod. Not sure what it does
and why would i let someone make a forum?

I did uninstall this mod, but not because it wasnt a great mod, it is. I just switched over to Joomla for my main site and it has functions that are built in for that. I wish they were as easy to use as this product was.

Right, I have tried to use this on a second thread - But I can't - for the life - of me, get it to work.

The first time (thread) - along wit a lot of your help and patience - Worked.

I even changed the "Post Reply" button by adding a plug-in. I have done that with the first thread and the second thread. What I have noticed is that there is a box With a red X and the words "Quick Reply to this message" where the Quick reply Button is supposed to be in each and every post on both threads that I did the "Pluggin" for. How do I get rid of the "Quick Reply" button on those two threads only Please?

I have set up another form and entered the correct ThreadID, but it doesn't work for me when I click on the "Reply" (Now changed to one of my choice) button (This was like this before (i changed the button). It has been a long time since I did the first Form to Thread, with you.

I have compared the two forms and cannot think of any reason as to why the new form (second thread one) doen't work.

I still have the "Admin" user permissions for you - if you have time and want a peek. :)

I uploaded the mod's xml file and set the Easy Form Options to allow myself as ADMIN to view and edit. I enabled the Quick Links Link.

I guess I don't know where to look to start using the mod. Can someone help me get started, please.

If I click on "Form List" in the admin cp options area, I am told "there are no forms" and "upload the xml file for the form from your computer". Don't quite know what that is referring to. Where do you find the forms and where do you make new ones.

I have a silly question! I have a form setup that submits a form for a contest that I am running on my site. The contest requires that the users attach an image to each submission, but the form posts that thread to a forum which the users cannot view. This results in the site not allowing them to add attachments. I have all permissions for Registered users set to "No" except for "Can Upload Attachments". This does not seem to affect it at all though.

I know this is different than posting in a forum as far as permissions go, but it seems that if the form can go around the fact that "Can Post Threads" is set to "No", it should be able to include attachments in a forum that they cannot view. Any insight?

Nope there is no xls export function.

However if you go to the Form Results Table view and then highlight the whole table from form title right to last row then you should be able to paste it into a blank excel document. That will include links and text colours, etc.

(Tested with Microsoft Excel 2007 )

It would be great if specific styles can be forced on certain forms so that they always display in one style only. Right now im using htaccess with styleid to do this, but the problem with it is that it also changes the forum style to the form style and its very hard to return it to what i normally use.

Can someone check out my form and let me know how to fix an issue I am having. I am using a form for a plant naming registry and have used the Section entry to to place dividing points. When I use a section and follow it by a single line text field question, the question name is inserted right next to the Section title without a space or anything. I would like the next question to be on the next LINE, the way the other questions show up... It is easier to show the results (http://www.xericworld.com/forums/cultivar-registry-submissions-review/427-new-hybrid-cultivar-registry-application.html) than explain I think.

The text "Cultivar Information" is the section entry, and the text "Cultivar Name" is the single line text entry that follows. You can see that they end up on the same line and I don't know how to fix it. I apologize if this should be an obvious answer, but I am not the most skilled at this stuff.

You've read my question wrong or I explained it badly eitherway, I want them to select it and it is compulsory. But even when you do select a prefix it is saying that you did not, this happens whether I make it required or not in the forum settings.

Top of image is the unsubmitted form, bottom is what happens once I press submit.

#2 When posting new thread or post option is selected by default it should send forumid value in the forum html. This is because a lot of mods use forumid value in hooks BEFORE your mod initiates. global_start, global_complete, parse_templates etc and so on.

ALTHOUGH you can just put this in the FORM START hook you have but many people might not know this and wondering why some mods are not working on the thread/post the forms are being posted too.

#3 Create a new table to handle who has voted on a form so a LOT more things can be done and compliant with database standards. This can open a lot more possibilities for people.

#4 Add appstatus system it is real easy I added an appstatus column in user table which:
0=no app
1=submitted
2=denied
3=reapply (didnt fill out completely or missed something or need more info from user)
You can have messages or whatever you want per status level. I have a message announcement telling them status on forum index. But that is for my case you can make this fully customizable can PM user status or whatever. Again up to the imagination. This option can also just be included in the form table that i mentioned in 3 which is BEST way to do it. In my case I have a single app and can apply once for this certain reg application system thing. But to make it fully workable to mod you should put this into the table I mentioned above real easy to implement this all.


But man this mod has made life a lot easier. I have even made a social group application system with it along with staff application system along with free account application system when sites are closed to registration.

I just want to say great mod btw and thank you! I just have a small issue and I'm sure this has already been answer but I can't seem to find an answer in the thread.

I'm using the Email Form only because I want to go to our support group. The form and data comes through fine but the format is just one big block of text.

Example (current format):

First Name Billy bob last name thorton company company name here address 4444 love you long time lane etc

I want the email out put to follow the same format as the online form

Example of what I'd like:

First Name: Billy Bob
Last Name: Thorton

Is there a way to allow a person to update a form after they have previously submitted? Perhaps have it auto populate if an existing submission is found so they can easily just update the submitted form and it would just modify the post.

$form['pmrec']= $qo[152];where 152 is the question hash of the question with the username of the member that the pm should go to.

How might I be able to do that for 2 recipents? I have a similar situation, but have two fields, each with a name, and the PM should go to both.

I know this has prob been asked many times but I couldnt find the answer when searching.....

I want the form to be Moderated before submit. I have the forum set to moderate threads and posts but still when the form is submitted it just appears.

I have also tried adding

to the form hook before submit but nothing happens and the form still gets posted.

What am I doing wrong here guys?

When the "post" option is enabled here, it requires the human verification code in the post array when you make the call to vBulletin's build_new_post function.

However, the easy forms modification has its own validation for the humanverify variable. This causes issues, because once you verify the code it is instantly changed to something else (to prevent fraud). Meaning that once you try to send the humanverify variable to build_new_post it no longer matches - ultimately rejecting the post if you plan on posting the results of the form to a discussion area in the forum.


I'm going to try to create a workaround for this for myself, but it'll take me a lot longer than it would take bananalive. I'll post it here when I complete it, if bananalive doesn't address it first.

No one answered my question on dynamic java select boxes so I spent a while messing around with custom questions until I got it working. Figured I'd share my findings in case anyone else has a similar issue.

This is probably not the best way to go about doing this but I had little choice so bare with me.

My problem, I needed select boxes that would change depending on their parent select box. IE Dynamic java select boxes.
I used Mirko Elviro's Multiple Dynamic Combo Boxes code available here (http://www.javascriptkit.com/script/script2/multiplecombo.shtml).

I put the javascript in the form_view template, so yes it's added in every form regardless of whether or not those questions are used on that form. I couldn't find a way around it.

You need to highlight usergroup for grant permission. Use CTRL+CLICK for highlight more usergroups.

I have this modification installed, I rember before there was an incredibly detailed and effective list of how to go about doing certain things with this modification. However that link is now down. I understand its a free mod and no support but to answer such a simple request is not much to ask expecially when you have time to respond to my post with a lame response...

with all this said this is a great mod and would love to use it but like everyone people encounter issues and the point is to resolve these issues so that others cant read how to fix them, does not have to be the developer to respond but someone that had the same issue, would be nice to hear from the coder since this is his code and he would understand it better but yet I understand him no wanting to spend time supporting this any longer, maybe someone else can take it over.

Yes I am posting something like 3840 characters and the message says my limit is 2500 characters. I did go to my vb settings and changed it from 2500 characters to 0 which is disabled and I still get the same message.. Confussed.

I've been playing about with this morning and from what I can work out when this happens it's because the process has failed put an action type into the database.

All I went and done was manually change the action type from a 0 to a 3 to specify post in thread (via phpmyadmin). It's not ideal but at least it seems like it's working for me now (which is my main concern).

LOL.. how many of you that DEPEND on this mod on 3.x have bothered to donate to the dev?

I hope that it was most if not all of you.

While I look forward to a 4.0.x release of this, if I had relied heavily on it in 3.x I would at least donate something... even if he isn't going to continue it... which, while there is lot of speculation, we really are not sure if it is or not.

This is a major mod from what I understand and isn't something that just gets done overnight. I am surprised at the number of mods that have been converted so far as all of them have taken some considerable amount of money and resources to do so (such as paying the upgrade fees, etc.)

I hope that bananalive can afford to do as such.

I was using this mod on my 3.8x forum for a while, and it was very neat and useful mod.

However, there was one feature missing which to me was valuable. This feature is to move users who complete "x" form to "y" usergroup. And if this is done on a form by form basis, what this can achieve is forms progressing users from one usergroup to another, which is what I needed.

I am not on vbulletin 4.0, and I am liking it mostly, however, I am interested still on this mod. Good luck and thank you for working on converting this mod, Trek. If you ever have the time / permission in the future ahead, could you think about this idea. I wold happily donate to see this happen.

Just a quick note, I have this working for VB4 now. So far it's been about 20 hours just to convert it. Granted some of those hours are just from my learning what I'm doing and how to convert to VB4 and all of that, but it's been... interesting. =)

There are a LOT of style issues as most of the styling didn't carry over. Knowing next to nothing about styling, this could take me a bit to fix. There are a few bugs here and there that I am still cleaning up (I'm sure there's more I don't know about) but I can create new forms, submit them and view them.

I've PM'd Bananalive here on the forums asking his permission to release this, but have yet to hear from him. We'll see how that goes.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know it's working and hopefully we'll have something useful soon.

The coder of this mod is no where in sight atm, one person is trying to port it to 4.0 but that can take time, and i think he will not implement new stuff at this point.

I've got the basic port to vB4 complete. Styling is a big issue, but I've been at least hitting the bigger issues to make things generally look better. But styling isn't something that I've ever done in vB so the conversion isn't all that easy for me.

I'm sure there are bugs still, but in general, things seem to be working pretty well.

I still haven't heard from BL though. I want to do a little more testing and will need to make sure things export and import again and then I might have a couple of people test it. After that, we'll see if those people consider it worth releasing or not and go from there.

As for fixes, changes, etc... I'm not planning on supporting the port to vB4. I'll do what I can to help out, but realistically, if it's released, it's still not my mod and I really don't have the desire/understanding of the mod to support it either. I'm doing it for myself and hopefully others that need the basic functionality for vB4. I hope that doesn't sound rude, I don't mean it to be. But the fact is, I'm not looking to "own" the mod in any way. =)

All that being said, I'll offer what help I can, when I can. But don't expect anything. =)

You don't show forms in the threads. The forms can post their results to threads however.

you need to goto www.domain.com/misc.php?do=forms

From there you can create/edit your forms. You'll also get links there to use the forms. copy those links and put them wherever you want on your website.

Is it possible to make a textbox field which only becomes compulsory to answer if the user has selected 'Other' as the option from a compulsory list of radio buttons? I want to allow the users to select an option from a list of radio buttons, but I only want them to fill in the following 'Other' textbox if they select teh option 'Other' from the radio button list. If they select another option from the radio button list, other than 'Other', then it shouldn't be compulsory for them to fill in the following textbox.

First off, thanks for this really convenient tool, however the use I have planned for it requires me to be able to allow regulat members access to the one form and ill it out, but not be allowed ro edit the form itself, or access to other forms....is this at all possible? Am I not looking at the right place when setting the permissions, based on the admin cp acess to easy forms settings?

The author of this mod (and many other great mods) disappeared. He doesn't answer PMs, his websites were taken down and the mods were all changed to "Unsupported".

Whatever his reasons, he's gone from all we can tell.

To that end, I started doing the conversion to VB4.0 myself as I need this mod as well. After I converted (basically, made it work, just not pretty) it to vB4, I realized that there was a lot of work to be done in the styles area. Styling is something I know next to nothing about however.

Thankfully Sarcoth offered to help and has been spending at least as many hours of work as I did on the upgrade, in upgrading the styling. He told me he should have things basically completed this coming week. Assuming that he has the time to complete what he needs to, I'll get a copy of it and then merge my changes. Once we're relatively sure that things are working, I'll post it here on vb.org.

I have it up and running on my own production site right now, but it's ugly as I said. I don't have all of Sarcoth's changes in place yet. But if anyone is curious, you can see it at www.darkhandofvalor.com. Click one of the application links from the navtab.

Also, someone PM'd me and offered a copy of the help files that were created by the author of the mod as well, so I hope to be able to include those as well with the release.

A few things to note right now.

Myself and Sarcoth are NOT the authors of this mod, nor do we claim to be. We're not accepting any donations (although I wish I was with as many offers as I've had. heh but thank you for the offers!) as we didn't write the code and I don't think it right to do so.

I used the 3.7 beta version here as my base when I did the conversion to vb4.

What bugs that were in that version, are probably in the vb4 version. While I will do what I can (and I ASSUME) Sarcoth will do what he can in the styling area, this isn't our mod and we're doing this as favor to everyone that needs it. Support for it will be spotty and at this point, I wouldn't plan on getting any new features added, etc.

Our primary focus will be making what is there already, work with vb4.

I know many of you are awaiting the vb4 version and we'll get it to you as soon as we can (again, this coming week more than likely).

The problem is not only that I am wrong redirected, the problem is that any changes that I make to the template (edit the name of the form etc.) - nothing is done!

this is my feeling - i cannot think of any other place that there would be a setting to check.

If they were not allowed to upload in other places it would be an easy fix - but it is only through the forum.

It was working (i think) prior to the 3.3 upgrade - however when i did the upgrade I was getting the moderation problem - when that was corrected it screwed up the attchments part.

Like you Even after loading the 3.3 version I still have my new threads being moderated,, Did you find a fix?

Or does anyone else have a solution?

First, great mod, thanks! I'm trying to use the above to log the IP of the person submitting the form. I have the results sent to me via PM and logged to the database so that I can see the results in table view as well. I'm inputting the code above into the "before submit" hook box and it successfully sends me the results including the IP in the PM, but it doesn't show it in table results view. Is there any way that I can get the IP to show in the table view?

We are using vbulletin 3.8.4

With Easy forms version 3.6 form couldn't be processed because of this error
"The form did not submit as the following questions are unanswered:
Message:*
This question is compulsory." eather field is filled.

With 3.7 beta version we don't get this error but email is not sent after form submission.

Instead of making one form for each board, I was thinking if it's possible if the user making the NEW THREAD/FORM could choose the board and threadprefix inside the form he's filling up?

Because I don't know how! I tend to avoid using MySQL as much as possible because I don't know what I'm doing, except when I'm following exact instructions.

Can you tell me how I can display images within the question description? I've tried adding bbcode and pure html but without luck.

I need to show images as I'm using the form to create a competition where some of the questions ask the user to comment on an image.
