Awsome mod, worked great for my internal site. I do have one question if anyone has the answer, I am trying to format the Thread to be
Question: Answer
Question: Answer

I can get it to work in the preview page, however when it posts, it puts the answers under the question. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advanced.

Check your Form BBcode

Specifically check Question BBcode: for a \r\n at the end of the line

Also check the Answer BBcode: for bbcode which forces new line eg. [INDENT]

Hi,

Thanks for the mod. Working fine on my board.

However, there is something "wrong" when using the vb_editor. The Image button is not shown. And, it's not only on my board, if I look at one of your attachement, this button is not shown too.

Is it possible for you to do something for reinstating it ?

Thanks for your help.

Any hints on the 'Manage Attatchment' issue? The form works great, but when a registered user tries to use manage attachments (on the form ONLY), it gives the old access denied message. My test user is a 'Registered User', and that group has global attachment upload access.

Doe the usergroup need upload access for a specific forum, too? If so, which?

It seems as if the only way the 'Manage Uploads' works from the Form is if the user is a member of either 'Administrators' or 'Super Moderators'.

Check their permissions for the forum where the form is posting.

Edit: Try attached file

Anyone know if it's possible

Can this be modified to accept either BBcode or HTML in the Questions?

I wish to add a rules agreement in with a link to the rules...

If anyone can help ASAP it would be most Appreciated.

Wonderful mod, thanks ever so much!

Is it possible to have it PM the member after the form has been submitted? Some of our forms require additional steps, and we know that the applicant won't make note of them from the "thank you" page!

Either way, you made my life soooo much easier! Thank you!

Awesome !

Couple questions can't find the answer to ?

1.) Is it possible to redirect them to the thread that was just created ?

2.) This might be a dumb one but besides the admin panel where there is a link to the form list in the "Usergroups Allowed to View Form Lists" area I can't figure out where the form list or the forms actually exists , what is the link to it ?

3.) I see you accept donations but how do I ? I don't see a PayPal button, forgive my inexperience with this stuff,

Thanks.

Martyh,

Yes, there is a great how-to write-up on the developer's web site, here:
http://www.bananalive.co.cc/showthread.php?t=119

That post explains how to redirect them to the post they made.

To manage your forms, go to your_url_here/misc.php?do=forms
If you gave yourself permissions, you should be able to add, edit, and delete new forms. That is also the link that your users should go to, to see the available forms (if you want to set it up that way). Optionally, you can send them the link to each form individually

To donate, look for the box on the right of the first post (with the mod description). There should be a link there for "Support Developer". Clicking that will take you to a quick form to donate!

Hi ,

Can the following happen with what we have so far ?

1.) New user shows up and sees the form but is not able to see the forum by backing up the address. Right now I can't get the two to work together, it seems the view form permission is the same as the view forum permission. I may be wrong and just haven't been able to decipher the settings I'm looking for. Please advise.

2.) Fills out the form or starts to.

3.) Gets prompted to register before they can submit the form which starts a new thread.
( popup register form maybe or a popup link )

4.) Registers and is then returned to the form where they can submit it.

5.) Submits form and is directed to the new thread still not being able to see the rest of the forum.

Basically, I only want new users to be able to post the form to a new thread and then limit their activity on the site to that single thread.

Is any of this possible ?

Are you saying that, for each question you have, the answers are being shown twice when the person submits the form?

If you have customized the Form Output or the Question/Answer/Section/Form BBCode (in Advanced Options), you may have put in code that displays one of the questions or answers?

PS - can you copy and paste in an example of what the problem is?

Form can Submit to:
new thread in forum
new post in thread
new pm to user
email address
save to database
This is looking very interesting, it may save me a heap of work.

A couple of quick questions about how a form can be submitted.

Save to database.
- Does this save into the vB database or a custom database?

- If it saves to the vB database, does it save the form data in a custom table based on the form fields, or does it save into the normal thread posts table?

- Can you have multiple behaviors on form submission.
By that I mean, can it save to a database and also start a new thread?

(Sorry if these have been answered elsewhere, had a quick look but didn't see them)

It saves it in a specific (non- default) table in the vb database.

One form can have multiple actions.

It saves to database like a post as a formatted result, viewable afterward on separate page

Hi,

Not sure if this is something you can answer since it also relates to another mod BUT...

I have been using your mod in conjunction with FB connect with much success. In FB connect when a user starts a new thread, it is posted on their FB Wall.

Before upgrading your mod, when a user filled out a form that I created with your mod and it was submitted to a forum as a new thread, it was posted on the user's FB wall as FB connect saw it as a new thread. After upgrading, for some reason now when the user fills out the form I created with your mod, FB connect no longer sees it as a new thread hence it does not get posted to the user's FB wall.

I know that FB connect works properly as when I create a regular new thread it posts on the user's FB wall.

Could you offer any help with this...thanks in advance.

We have a problem:

when we modified a form with support from your help-site

if ($qo[6] <> "")
{
$formoutput = preg_replace('/(\[(.*?)\])/is', '', $formoutput);
vbmail($qo[6], $threadtitle, $formoutput);
}

$qo[6] = Single Line Text Field for the user email

to send the result of the form to the user, it will delete all BBCode in the email and in the new thread.

But why?

But why?

The php function vbmail does not support bbcode.

The alternative to removing it is to convert it into plain text:

Replace:
$formoutput = preg_replace('/(\[(.*?)\])/is', '', $formoutput);
vbmail($qo[6], $threadtitle, $formoutput);
With:
require_once(DIR . '/includes/class_bbcode_alt.php');
$plaintext_parser =& new vB_BbCodeParser_PlainText($vbulletin, fetch_tag_list());
$plainformoutput = $plaintext_parser->parse($formoutput);
vbmail($qo[6], $threadtitle, $plainformoutput);

Is it possible to make a default value for Dropdown Selects or radio buttons?
so when a user is shown several options like the following:

option1
option2
option3

without them doing anything "option1" will be selected by default?

Maybe giving us the option to put a character next to the text so that the system can see it is a default value, like:

*option1
option2
option3

The form will know that option1 is the default value.
I know that we can make questions compulsory, but I would prefer some kind of default value, maybe a text box where we can type in a default value if the above idea doesn't appeal to you..

Is it possible to have information from another form on another page to be sent to your form?

Basically , if I have a HTML form within a page made with Logician's web templates and I want that information ( just one field really ) to be carried over to your form on submit can that happen ?

Or even better would be to have your form within one of Logician's web templates , any chance of that happening ?

Logician's templates are here , where I asked the same question

I've had no experience with Logician's templates but you can submit information to the form using method="get" and sending to a url like:

<form name="form" action="misc.php?do=form&fid=3" method="get">
Username:
<input type="text" name="user" />
<input type="submit" value="Submit" />
</form>

yourforum.com/forum/misc.php?do=form&fid=3&user=bob

And then you could use form hooks or hidden fields to get variable.

Hi Bananalive

I an sure I posted on here before but after trawling through pages of threads, I can't find it.

I cannot get the Image verification, Unless I add the "Question", There's no place for the answer either. It just says "Question, Answer".

I would just like to have teh image Verification on there with no question. how would I do that Please?

Where do I also change who can view the form Etc?

One last Question....

Is it possible to have the form on my forum , for example... When the person clicks "Reply" the form will show automatically, please?

Hi BA,

I have the option of "Edit Form" in the drop down menu. But there is no button (Go, Enter Etc) for me to click on to enter the next stage that you mention in post #828.

I upgraded to the V3.4 (even though it says 3.3 when I did so).

Would you also be kind enough as to tell me if and how it is possible, that the form can be accessed while a member presses the reply button. (Just on that forum).

I know the following is obtainable by manually entering the following BB Code - But is it possible to have the BB Code already there as there are very few member how know what it is, let alone use it.

I would like to have the E-mail address and Website addresses, entered to be clickable on the forum page.

{email} {/email} *

* Remone the {} and replace with [].

It should re-direct on click one of the options? Which browser are you using? Is javascript enabled in your browser?

that's just typo.

Create plugin newreply_start

if (in_array($foruminfo[forumid], array(1,2,3)))

You could create custom question and then use the following in the form hook before submit:

replacing 1 with appropriate question hash

Martyh

Her's one way there may be others.

While in the admin control panel select

"Forums & Moderators"

then selct "forum management"
then under controls in the middle hit "go" on one of the listed forums.

The forum ID is at the top of the page in that header.

" Help Forum: Main Category (id: 1)"

Welshy2008
04-16-2009, 07:55 AM
You can also find the threadid by actually clicking on the thread that you want - you will see the thread address in the address bar at the top of your screen.

The numbers AFTER the '?t=' in that address and BEFORE the '&page=' is the actual forumid.

IE: in the case of this forum, you will see:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=201097&page=57

The numbers in Bold are your threadid.

Mate, ok but this harks back a couple of pages on here , when I asked a question.. which could be why we cannot get this to function 100%

We cannot define a THREAD, because we use VBSEO.

We want to define specific threads and forum ids, but VBSEO rewrites the output of these.

Now, is it just a case, of turn vbseo of, grab the actual thread id and forum id. Such as

f= 23
t=97630

Turn VBSEO back on, then place into the form elements, the F and T values ?

If thats the case, we have tried that, and it doesnt parse the thread id correctly, but does post the form result into the correct forum id.

For such a simple mod this one is awfully confusing. I installed it and couldn't figure out. How do I select more usergroups? The options aren't clearly defined at all and I can't select more than one usergroup. Why can't I edit forms via AdminCP? Why can't I create forms via AdminCP? The usergroup settings are probably the most confusing of all Vbulletin mods I've seen in the 4 years I've been using this forum software. The hack goes through VBoptions and the settings are not only limited but poorly worded. For anyone looking to remember the good old days of the Vbulletin Quiz hack, this modification is NOT for you. Shame...

I, above all, understand frustration. I have to be the dumbest person on this site, when it comes to understanding this stuff. In fact I don't understand it at all. If it works, I use it. If it don't I ask for help from the person who crafted the Mod. If they are one of the many poor ones who never come back to support there mods, then I dump it and get on with life.

But the support in this particular mod is the best I've seen in any mod I've tried. He answers so quick it's amazing! And he ignores no one.

So if you are having a bit of trouble fiquring things out...

Try reading all 60 pages of this thread several times like I did. And also remember to read the "HELP FILE" posted at the top too along with documentation included in the zip file.

It's hard to come up with a question that hasn't already been answered somewhere. But even when people don't read everything, this guy has the patience to repeat his answers again and again.

And if you don't find your answer? Try asking.
That always seems to work here! :up:

How do I select more usergroups? The options aren't clearly defined at all and I can't select more than one usergroup.You use vBadvanced on your site so where is your problem? The selection there is for many options the same as for the usergroups in this modification. Simply click and hold the CTRL-Key and click on the desired usergroups with the left mouse button. Save it and it's done.

That it isn't running on the ACP, is one of the great features! So different users/usergroups can simply work on building a form. Without having access to the ACP. ;)
If you don't like it because it isn't what your're looking for search for another one but don't defame this great modification without cause. Just my 2cents.

I agree...its not very user-friendly...in fact not at all user friendly! I think the admin should do some major changes to make it as simple as MachForms. :D

Patient and very helpful. The only one that I have come across on vB.org.

Is it possible to add a password? Like before a form is view a password is required? Or before its submitted a password is required? Is this possible?

What I have done is set it so that every form submitted has to be 'Moderated'. Once I have viewed it and approved it - Only then, does it go 'Live'.

just add a field for named "username" so the user who is typing will enter his username. :)

You can include {username} in the form if you'd like (perhaps in the title?).

If you'd rather their username appear as the answer to a question, do this:

Create a new question, selecting "Custom" for the type. Name it "Username".

In the code field, enter in:

$answer = '<input type="text" readonly="readonly" id="q_' . $formbit[id] . '" name="' . $formbit[id] . '" value="' . $vbulletin->userinfo[username] . '" style="background:silver;" />';Then their username is sent in like it is the answer to a question in the form, and they cannot change it.

Hi BananaLive,

( Or anyone that can help.)

When I submit the form below ( your example ) to a HTML page , it directs me to a page of smileys located here

http://localhost/forum/misc.php?user=bob

It seems to cut off the "do=form&fid=1" part but does add the "user=bob" part"
I'm kinda stuck on that one.

.
<form name="form" action="http://localhost/forum/misc.php?do=form&fid=1" method="get">
Username:
<input type="text" name="user" />
<input type="submit" value="Submit" />
</form>

Another question on this one.

How do I get parameter from url of form posted in custom output? (must have parameter)

1. Form Hook: Form Start

$hiddenfield1 = $vbulletin->input->clean_gpc('g', 'param', TYPE_UINT);
if (empty($hiddenfield1))
{
$errormessage = "Error, this form needs a parameter.";
eval('print_output("' . fetch_template('STANDARD_ERROR') . '");');
}
2. Form Hook: Before Submit
$hiddenfield1 = $vbulletin->input->clean_gpc('p', 'hiddenfield1', TYPE_UINT);
$formoutput = str_replace('{param}', "$hiddenfield1", $formoutput);

3. Use {param} in custom output.

Do I need to change anything in these codes to be able to use the form on the top of the page ?

When you say "use {param} in custom output" I really don't know what that means could someone explain that in a little more detail please ? . Sorry for my inexperience I am willing to pay/donate (to you or to your favorite charity), to anyone who can help me out with this.

Thanks,

Custom output enables you to design your own layout using the parts of the form.
$hiddenfield1 = $vbulletin->input->clean_gpc('p', 'hiddenfield1', TYPE_NOHTML);
$formoutput = str_replace('{param}', "$hiddenfield1", $formoutput);
The alternative would be to use this code: (it justs adds the field like another question at the end of the form output)
$formoutput .= $form[preq] . "Username" . $form[pstq];
$formoutput .= $form['prea'] . $hiddenfield1 . $form[psta];

Thanks again BananaLive,

Let me make sure I'm not wasting your time here, I should do this ?

1.) Use the HTML code on my HTML template

2.) Use the first php code in my hook form start

3.) Use the second php code in my custom output window.

4.) OR use the last php code in place of the third one if I just want to add the field to the end of a form

Please correct where I may be wrong in this sequence.

Yes apart from 3. The custom output is the bbcode/text which is how you want the form's post/email/etc. to look like.

3.) Use the second php code in Form Hook: Before Submit and then do a custom output

Hi ,

They do different things so you need them both in the Form Hook: Before Submit:
$hiddenfield1 = $vbulletin->input->clean_gpc('p', 'hiddenfield1', TYPE_NOHTML);
$formoutput = str_replace('{param}', "$hiddenfield1", $formoutput);

The version on the XML file indicates the version of the Easy Forms product, not the version of vBulletin that it is compatable with. :) So as long as your site meets the requirements, you should be good to download the latest version.

Sometimes developers attach a version to a post (sort of like a beta) to make sure it fixes someone's specific problem before releasing it as an "official" update.

You can see the requirements in the first post, as well as in the mod information.

This is tagged for vBulletin v 3.8 (and it is int he 3.8 Modifications section of this site), but the text in his first post says:

Backwards compatible with vb v3.7.x and 3.6.8

Suggestion:
I kinda need one form to be accessible for only the group "facebook-reg.users", and one which both "facebook-reg.users" AND "reg.user" can access.
Also it would be nice if I could put a "force read/submit (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=172155&highlight=force+read)" on a form, and that it is accessible only 1 time per. user.

This way I can force Facebook-users to submit a "backup"password to the database (a small issue with the Facebook Connect (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=203064&highlight=facebook) plug), no? :)

Just installed and started to play around with that mod.
It shows great potential, good work indeed.

I do have a couple of questions:
- Is it me or there is no way to prevent a user to submit twice the same form?
- If I want to limit access to the forms result, I must use post in thread and not in db, right?

One suggestion for future release:
In the settings panel, where you select who can view/edit forms, it would be nice to be able to define the groups to exclude. This way when you add a new user group, you don't need to update the settings of EasyForms.
Also, who can create a new form should be separated from who can fill it. The admin could be the only one able to create a new form, while all registered members could fill and submit it.

Thanks for that mod.

- Is it me or there is no way to prevent a user to submit twice the same form?
No

- If I want to limit access to the forms result, I must use post in thread and not in db, right?
Only those able to edit forms are able to view form results 'Saved in Database'.

Hello,
is it possible to use this in conjunction with Edit New Thread Button (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=102923&highlight=Edit+New+Thread+Button) to specify the forum in which the new thread will be created?

I currently use it so that my classifieds forums use the Form to Thread (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=126676) hack.
It works ok but this is a more elegant solution.
Could I call this hack with a query string like I currently do with the Form Hack and pass the forum ID along to create the new thread in the specified forum?
E.g. newthread.php?do=classified&f=198 runs the classified template passing the forum id as 198.

Great Mod, thanks very much!

I'm trying to put together a "For Sale" template to get some consistency on selling threads, and just realised I'm missing an important component (I think).

Is there any way to request an image please?

This is what I've come up with so far for my forms' output, as a matter of interest - (constructive criticism and suggestions welcomed :) ) - if i could end up with an image on each item line I would be a happy chappie..

Just noticed - your "Coming Soon" item will address this won't it? Doh!

I love this addon - the one thing I would love is an option to add a Thread Prefix field where users can select which thread prefix if they are posting a thread in a board.

Hi,

Would you have an idea of how to prevent users from submiting the form more than once?

For letting users fill a form but not view the others, here is my work around in case someone is interested:
- All registered users can create/fill a form
- I give registered users the direct link to fill the form (not the form listing)
- I do a post to forum and I make this forum readable only to admin
- I adust the post confirmation message and navbar to make it opaque to registered users

I love this addon - the one thing I would love is an option to add a Thread Prefix field where users can select which thread prefix if they are posting a thread in a board.

You could use custom question for this:

require_once(DIR . '/includes/functions_prefix.php');
$prefix_options = fetch_prefix_html($form['forumid'], $q["$formbit[id]"], true);
$answer = '<select name="q_' . $formbit[id] . '" id="q_' . $formbit[id] . '" class="bginput">';
$answer .= '<option value="">'.$vbphrase[no_prefix_meta].'</option>';
$answer .= $prefix_options;
$answer .= '</select>';

Banana, I use the form so our members can apply for membership. I want the finished applications to go into a admins only area where the general population cannot view them. I have given normal users permission to post threads in that section but they cannot view the section.

The finished applications are not being created as a thread. If I fill out the application as an admin it works fine but if I log in as a regular user and fill out the application it doesn't seem to go anywhere. Can you help?

Try setting the usergroup permission for that forum as:
Can post new thread: no

I don't think its possible to force attachments to post or to limit attachment extensions.

If there is a modification which allows attachment extensions permission per forum, then that could be workaround.

Bananalive, could you tell me how to integrate your Canned Replies in to Easy Forms?
More precisely, when using Easy Forms the final thing on the form is the VBulletin editor, when using the vb editor, quick reply or PM on my site i have the ability to use a canned reply, is there a way to make this available (to those that have permission to use it) in the form specifically for the vb editor?

I apologize if this has been addressed already but let me explain my next question.

We have a Pick One NASCAR game and each member can pick one driver per race for points. They cannot pick the same driver more than once. What I was wondering is if there was a way that this form system can remember what a member picked and not show that option the next time they use the form on a per member basis?

This is a great mod!

Two questions

1) When emailing the form results, is it possible to replace the "FROM" as from the submitter's own email address?

2) Is it possible to submit the same form to more than one email address? I.e. I have check boxes of three possible email recipients in the form, the user can select A and B to receive the form output, and then the form will email it to them. I'm thinking this requires a preform submission PHP but I don't know how to gain access to the variables.

Call the question 'Human Verification', it will use captcha, etc depending on your forum settings.

Permissions:
Either vbulletin options or use form permissions in advanced options of edit form.

Edit Form, Scroll Down, Advanced options, Form BB Code

I also cannot get human verification to work. I've entered in the question as 'Human Verification' but it doesn't appear. What's wrong??

Hi,

Thank you for this great product, but I am having some trouble.

After I install it, I go to the easy form options but none of it allows me to edit it. By default, all of the user groups are able to view the forms, but when I go to the forms list, i get a permission denied page even though I am a full admin.

Any idea what could be going on?

Thanks in advance.

I tried to set up my forms so that when someone submits a form it goes into a specific forum as a new thread. Then the user who has submitted forms should be able to see their forms there, but not anyone elses.

I think I have this set up correctly, but some of the threads are showing up as "moderated". I'm not sure what this means, and whether it is related to easy forms, or if it's caused by vbulletin?

You need to set usergroup permissions by going: admincp -> vboptions -> Easy Form Options

The highlighted/ selected usergroups are those that can view/edit forms (depending on the option you are editing.)
