I was wondering if anyone new any code or a simple method to achieve this.. I was also looking at maybe being able to soft delete messages but so that anyone can still view them, not just the admins. I looked at the post table and saw you can set the visibilty column for each post to an int, 1 shows the post normally and 2 soft deletes it, but nothing else seems to work.

Any ideas on how this can be achieved?

Basically there is a post rating system I downloaded and installed from here, but it is not quite complete, you can rate posts, posts below a certain rating, I wanted to collapse ideally, a bit like what happens on digg I believe.

The soft delete messages where everyone can still see them was more of a second best workaround to what I have described above.
