@ Chikkoo - It has been stated that points only work when running mysql 5. Uninstall the mod and then drop all the tables that deal with it and then reinstall.

@ Spadow - The automation is where you will be able to assign an award to happen for a specific event (i.e. place a member in certain usergroup, reach a certain amount of post and so on) A cron will run every day (would set it fo every 24 hours if you have a large board) and upon running it will do what you set it to do, it will add/remove awards based on the criteria you selected. Useful for giving awards when someone donates and they get placed into a usergroup for doing it.

EDIT: I found a bug. If you quick edit a post and you save changes then your award disappears. (in this case -> userinfo_right (postbit legacy))
When you refresh the page, your award is back.

I'm glad I took the time to read this to the end. I was JUST about to install this based on "Automation" as advertised, but now that I see it's not (yet) implemented, I would rather wait until it is.

This is something lacking from ALL award systems I have tried for 3x and I would like to add my request here to have this added to the 3.8 version also. Being able to automatically grant awards to users when they achieve certain things is exactly what I am looking for.

Please add automation to the 3.8x version!

Problem When I view the profile tabs of awards then everything is fine accept for "Description" there's nothing there at all, it's completely black, I've uninstalled reinstalled upgraded form all the other version and its still there, sounds like template error to me.

what is your font color for your description area? I notice your description title font color is the same as the background color where the description is to be seen, if it is the same color you will not see it of course.

Most likely causes:
•The website is under maintenance.
•The website has a programming error.

Make sure you uploaded the files to the proper place, if you did and imported the product correctly then there is no reason why you can not find it, if it exist and you have no other issues it will either work or the page will give you code errors like you uploaded the file and not the product. It is an issue on your end and not a fault with the mod itself.

I can see it clear as day in my FTP program. It is most certainly there.

Plus the rest of the mod works just fine. I've created, edited and issued awards which are correctly PMing users and showing up in their profile tabs. It's just that one page which isn't working.

Like I had stated, you have an issue somewhere on your server, I am unable to reproduce the issues you are having on our servers that we run this mod on.

The odds of this being the problem are extremely low, given that my server is the common denominator in plenty of stuff that works just fine; the statistical outlier is this mod. And more than one issue has presented itself with just this one mod, while everything else works perfectly. There's only one reasonable conclusion to a rational mind.

I have Recommend & Request both set to yes in usergroups but it only shows the request.

[EDIT] Sussed it, In the Award Manager the option for 'Allow member to recommend this award' it is set to 'No'

Is there a way to align the "Image" column above the "Description" column? I ask because the images I want to use are banners, and would be too wide if placed side by side with the description. Also, while I'm at it, does anyone know how to remove the "Icon" column completely? I have no use for it because I only use text in the postbit.

I receive this Fatal error on both of my 3.8.6 & 4.0.5 test boards.
When I installed vBCredits II (Lite) the 'awards.php' through an error. The vBCredits II (Lite) is conflicting with YAAS 4.0.2.

Problem:

When clicking/viewing Awards list (file 'awards.php') on 3.8.6:

Solution:
This is not something I can fix.

Please inform the creator of YAAS not to define construct_depth_mark within awards.php, and either surround it with a conditional that checks for the function existing, or just require_once adminfunctions.php - they should not be redefining standard vb functions even if its from the admin side, or stuff like this is bound to happen.

Don't worry if you dont know what Im talking about just copy and paste that to them.

Earlier this year I had a conflict with YAAS and DTO Garage involving the function construct_depth_mark() in awards.php

I was just told by a member that the same conflict has come up but in a different file.

I commented out the function from adminfunctions.php and it fixed the problem.. so far so good as far as that affecting anything else.

Some issues when upgrade from 3.8.2. I've upload the new files (only recommend_award.php) and import xml on my 3.8.4PL1 board.

In last version I used there was one more field on Award Request Form so a new message appears: A required field is missing. Please fill in all fields.

In usergroups permissions doesn't appears Can recommend awards, only Can request awards, so Recommend Award function doesn't work (you do not have permission to access this page...)

It's necessary to upload more files when upgrading? What files I need to save with configured information like awards, categories, users who have recieved awards, ect or what files must not be rewritten?

Does anybody happen to know offhand what I need to take out of the code so that when they submit the form, they don't get the "some fields left blank" error? That is - I want the form to send as-is, namely once they click on "request an award" their name is filled in automatically (so far as I can tell) and I don't want them to have to add the other stuff (reason, userID # and so on), just click "send" and be done.

Basically, I want to do away with the error page even if there's an error.

Is there some simple way to do this? (Pretty please?)

I have problem here.

I am using vb 3.8.2, and was able to upload files to my forum root directory.
When I try to import the product-yet_another_award.xml file it works fine.

I get the award system settings working fine..

But when i try to issue award from Modcp, it says:

The requested URL /forum/modcp/award.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Moreover, how to I issue awards from Admin cp???
Where is the link or option???

Doesn't look like you uploaded the files correctly to your server. There are other files and not just the xml that has to be imported.

Simply upload the contents of the "upload" folder to your server as it should be.

In order to upload the XML, you need to go to the product/plugin manager on the left hand side of the admincp and click on "add new product". Then select the XML file and upload it.

Make sure you have the usergroup options ticked, recommend & request to yes. Also if they are requesting rather quickly AND you have a minimum time between posts set for example to 30 Seconds between posts it will cause that type of error, change the limit to 1 second the try requesting or recommending and see if that sorts this issue?

I have a problem I haven't seen addressed on this thread...

I upload the files and imported the XML...

As you can see, I get to the the Award System Control Panel and "Award System Settings" without a hitch...

Is there a way to keep the time they were awarded but remove the 'Issue Reason'? Because I don't add reasons in my awards (I leave it in the description) and it looks incredibly messy. I've seen other forums without it, just Awarded on: [insert time here]

I haven't searched all the way through the thread so sorry if this has been covered. One of the forum moderators contacted me this week to say they couldn't issue and award as they kept getting a syntax error. I logged in as moderator and had the same problem which was instantly recognisable as an error due to the user having a ' in their name. Trying from the admin section succeeded comparing the award.php file in the modcp and admincp it appears that the admin php file has been modified to escape the user's names but this has been missed out in the modcp file.

Unless you've edited the template in all styles you should just be able to edit the root style's or worst case the master style's version of the template. The changes will be inherited by all child styles that do not modify the template themselves.

It seems in the new PhPMyAdmin version/MySQL, changes were made that affected the way queries were ran and now isn't compatible with the newest version.

You either have to alter the query within the XML or create the tables and columns manually until a fix is made.

Well looking at the error it looks like you're trying to view the awards.php page without first installing the plugin. That query that its complaining about is a perfectly valid query in mysql 5.5 so it isn't that mysql doesn't support the query.

What steps precisely did you take to install the plugin?

Is the product actually listed on your manage plugin page in admincp? Were there any errors/warnings when you uploaded the XML?

I think its a problem with the install script. Try replacing all instances of Type=MyISM with Engine=MyISM in the XML and re-install.

Has nothing to do with the patch, your version of php was updated and that form of code is now deprecated.

As far as the 4.x version being quarantined for exploits.. I am glad this happened. Yesterday on my forums I got this database error e-mailed to me:

Someone tried to do a SQL injection but got the users table wrong apparently. Pretty scary stuff.. I would recommend to anyone to remove the request_awards.php file until this can be fixed.

Of course, you can add new awards that point to new images or change existing awards to point to new images.

The issue I'm having is the impossibility of giving an award to any user. I can created categories, manage categories, or even delete them. I can create awards, but can't either edit or even list them in the admin panel or in the mod panel. Even though I can list them in the forum invoking the awards.php in the root of my forum. There I can see all the awards I've created but once again I can't manage them.

What if any error messages are in your log after you install the mod?

You might have the same problem as the person below you. Uninstall the mod. Make the changes listed 2 posts above mine to the product.xml file and then re-install the mod.

I installed this and when I go to awards.php it does not disply the awards page any ideas?

Have you renamed your admincp folder (check in includes/config.php)? If you did you haven't uploaded the files to the correct directory.

Open the product in your favorite editor and find all instances of,

TYPE=MyISAM

and change all to

ENGINE=MyISAM

Save and import product again.

I have a problem after I upgrade this product from old version to this new one even though I made this edit on xml file ENGINE=MyISAM
When I want to add new award or anything on award.php or award_version_info.php or anything it appears to me:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@3asq.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

MemberList question... I've just upgraded to vb 3.8.11, and YaAS 3.8.4. With the show awards in member list option turned on... the member list takes 2 seconds per row to fill the page and..the awards don't show. With it turned off, i get 30 rows back subsecond...

Any ideas?
