Adding categories to user cp

I have a standard usercp apart from the vB project addon. I want to add some custom profile fields, but have them listed in a seperate container in the usercp.

By default it puts them in "profile options" or similar. I took a look in the vB projects product xml to try and see how they extend the list, but really couldn't figure it out.

Any suggestions?

IIRC, PT is not using the default Custom Profile Fields functionality. They create their own PHP file and and hook into the template to add a link to that file.

The only thing in the product XML is the plugin to add the link to the list. You can find the actual file by seeing what the link actually is.
