What is this?

This add on gives your users the possibility to collect their favourite videos from some video-webpages (supported at the moment: MyVideo, YouTube, Sevenload and Metacafe) and to provide them in the forum. The videos can be commented and rated.

The Administrator has many possibilities of settings and can create video-categories and administrate the video-directory.

Try the following:

Delet the two Videohosters
Delete the file class_xxx from the includes/videoserviveapi
Import the Files hoster-MyVideo and hoster-YouTube via the ACP

Yes, but if you did this after the installation.

Remove the Video-Hosters and reinstall them. (Remove Files class_myvideo and class_youtube) before reinstalling them.

Here we were getting confused .. and I only set CHMOD for includes/videoserviceapi dir.. and I forgot to change the permission of videothumbnails folders...

Then it should work.

That's not a valid you tube url.

You have to link to the site of th evideo (with coomments stc)

Skye, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

1) The page title when viewing a video or a category is the same, so the title does not change for categories and videos.

2) There's no plugin to show videos on the forum home, for the rest keep up the work in this direction.

You can add a video hoster vi the acp.

You have to write a class for this hoster, and then you can simply add it via the acp. You might have a look at class_youtube.php in the includes/videoserviveapi-dir ;)

I have corrected the rewrite rukles for the ext release.

@CSS-Problem: This seems to be a vBSEO Problem. vBSEO should not rewrite the acp, if it does, this happens. But i can't coonfirm that on my local dev forum.

ANd i can't explain how to add godtube. Only general instructions:
Create the PHP Class like class_youtube for this hoster, and than you have to add it via the ACP in Debug Mode.

I put it so that this mod could be used in my root directory, and not my forums directory and everything works fine, however, all of the cetagories I create or edit have "/forums/" in the url. But I am not sure, how the "registered users" automatically becomes members of that other group as well once the required post-count has reached and how to display the message to the end users like - "you need to post 10 threads before you can upload videos".

Any help would be appreciated.

Look in the ACP -> Promotion. With this you can auto-move users to groups.

I don't think it's ncessary to add such a feature to our script -> it's a default feature of the vB ;)

Damn...I thought I almost made an XML for my own site after looking at the metacafe one and changing things around. I'm not that code incompetent but can't make things from scratch. I changed the embed code to my information, and the regex to fit my site. Just couldn't make it work. Oh well, I need to find something similar to this then that will work.

The error-mesage sais, that no connection to the video hoster could be etablished.

This must be the same in ie, ff and opera, because the conntection is done on the server's side.

This is just i wanna know. I don't know how to write it. Can you tell every step of adding a new hoster ? I am from Turkey and as you know youtube is closed from TurkTelekom to Turkish Dnsses so my users can't view the movies that's why i am asking to add another hoster.

You can have a look at the file for youtube.com. I cannot say how to writea another hoster, there are some points: Has the Hoster an pi, etc).

There's no universal solution to add a hoster ;)

API are used mostly for data extraction. Don't see why it is essential to have it coded this way.
Leaving the script dependent on a API leaves it less useful.

Just have a different insertion method for non based API video websites.

It's a good script, but in comparison to vbTUBE, it is less useful in terms of usability and integration.

Installed the RC1 today, and I don't see where to add or edit categories. I only see "General." I logged out of AdminCP and logged back in. Still can't find the edit/add for categories.

Also, I changed the CHMOD on those two folders to 777 as per instructions, but just recursed into the subfolders, not the individual files. When I saw that the categories were not appearing, as a test I changed the CHMOD to 777 for all subfolders AND FILES. Was that okay to do?

How do I delete a video? I only want to move the video from one category to another, but it won't allow me to add the same video under a new category, and not sure how to delete a video to try again.

No, in the trimmed descrriptions bbcodes and smilies are striped/not parsed for rechnical reasons.

@Supporting non-English Characters: I don't know, how to do this at this time.

I'm using the vB vurl class to get the API Contents - and the characters are broken in the answer. Maybe this is an charset problem.
