.sql databass help

Hey all
I was given a databass with lots of post on it and would like to know how i can merg it with my current Vb databass
the file is a .sql.
Any help would be much appreciated

The only reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. This is because backing up with a PHP script like that in the Admin CP or phpMyAdmin can result in PHP timeouts errors and an incomplete backup file. Please see the instructions here:

And you can use ImpEx (downloadable from the Members' Area) to merge the backup with your board.
