i've noticed some of my users see the icons as broken with IE, i use the icons for thread templates, so it's "important" it works with IE
The problems are with IE 6.0.2900.5512
And aren't with all the icons....

You need to be careful about thinking the images are only broken for IE users cuz it's just that IE puts a red X for a broken image and firefox simply doens't show the image.
Check the paths for the images. Take a look in the source code for one of the broken ones and see if the path is valid.

Well, it's hard to just guess at the problem. We'd need to see a link to a page having the problem so someone with IE6 can test it. (IE6? Isn't the latest IE7 or IE8 now?) You might try running the page he is having trouble viewing through an html validator and seeing if there is something obvious.

You can use http://browsershots.org/ to check your site with different browsers.
