That was the issue. However the text for that option is very misleading.


If you want to create award request as a new thread in your forum, please enter the forum ID that contain new request.
Leave it 0 if you dont want to create new thread.


Leaving it 0 breaks the request option.

As far as I can tell that has been fixed in the version that I will be releasing this evening.

The bug with some boards having a Forum ID of "0" for the Award Request Forum ID, I do believe I have figured out why.

You have to have either one of the following filled out for users to request awards

Award Request Forum ID
Award Request Thread ID
Award Request PM Address
Award Request Email AddressIf all of those are left blank, the end-users will not be able to request awards as the script will error out. Possibly I could rework the request system; but for now this is the current way the original author coded it.

That means that there are some indexes missing for a table that is used in a join. I had a quick look at the tables and think I found the missing indexes.

So please do a backup of your database and run the following MySQL querys (adding a table prefix as necessary):
ALTER TABLE `award_user` ADD INDEX `award_id` ( `award_id` )
ALTER TABLE `award_user` ADD INDEX `userid` ( `userid` )
These two statements create the probably missing indexes.
OPTIMIZE TABLE `award_user`
This statement actually fills the newly created indexes with the necessary data.

After doing this, check if the problem persists. If I guessed right it doesn't. ;)

That's all I spotted now. To further track down the issue I would suggest to turn on slow query log on the mysql server and enable the option "log-queries-not-using-indexes", which logs the querys to the slow query log. If you are on shared hosting, ask your provider to enable these options for you (normally they do such things as you are about to take load off their server ;) ). If you run your own server I hope you know how to do this :P (if not, have a look at the documentation on mysql.com, search for the options and add them to my.cnf)

Question on this mod...I have a previous version installed but am about to drop this one in place and upgrade. Mine is also fairly modified to suit our needs. One thing I am working on is creating a page that would pull users based on their group, display their registered date, and display their awards. IE -

You probably have a serious problem with your database ;)

To find the querys without indexes, you could try to increase the slow query time, so that less querys get logged. Another aproach might be the tool mysqldumpslow referenced in the mysql documentation (http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/slow-query-log.html).

I haven't done such things myself yet, so I can not really help you here any further...

You can have the thread created in a public forum if you wanted instead of a private one and have it where only certain usergroups can post in that thread. This way everyone can see that someone is up for an award and see the outcome but not comment/post...unless you allow them to.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but...

I installed it on my "test" forum where's there's only 2 users (myself and a tester account) and I can not get the "Request Award" link to work from the awards.php page. When I click "Request Award", from either my admin account or tester account, it gives me the Vbulletin Message:

User Name, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I have edited the settings in the admin CP, "Awards List: Display Request Award Link" and set to yes.

Any idea whats causing this problem and why its blocking me out?

You should only have to
1) upload the files to your directory and overwrite them.
2) Go to ACP > Manage Products > Add/Import Product. Select the produc and switch the box to YES for upgrade, and enter it. It should upgrade and still keep your current awards.

What needs to be fixed is the Award display in AdminCP: ASC and DES or Newest or Oldest first. It doesn't work on my forum.

I went into the admin tool and backed up my 3 databases ... saved them to my desktop and then upgraded the system and took out my template edits and installed the new 4.0 system and then restored my databases over writing the new ones.

My awards given out were still there and who I gave them to ..

I also asked a DBA I know for some help ..

Ok... it's those 2 steps that I'm stuck on - I have full access, I just don't generally mess around in phpmyadmin, so I need a little more intrusction on the backing up and restoring of the DB's.... I have given out 500+ awards over the past couple of years, and it would mean a shitload of work to add them back manually if I mess something up... ;)

I have a little issue: the links in the postbit don't go to the tab 'myawards'.
I see the link to follow in the status bar (when I put the mouse over the links) and it don't have the "&tab=myawards" , even the software is up today (ver 4.0.1), and i have double checked awards_bit, awards_postbit_display and member.php to be really sure that it should work with the changes applied.
The link just follow to the profile, not to My Awards tab.

Look at the image you posted, do you notice the text of any section being wider then the others? Because I do, and I would fathom to guess thats the mod causing it. You can edit that section to fix it... But if you just want to center the other sections you will need to give them a width in the HTML.

Alright. The latest version is uploaded.

The version scheme has changed. Currently, the same code-base works on both vBulletin 3.7 and vBulletin 3.8. However, with not knowing in the future if the same code-base will work 100%, the mods have been split up.

The newest build (3.7.3) has Member List Options, and a Version Information sectionin the AdminCP.

Read the release notes for the template edit for the Members List if you choose to use it.

Alright. I've tested the newest release (3.7.3) on vBulletin 3.7.4. PL1 and everything is working properly.

I still need to figure out why its not sorting the awards.

As a temporary workaround you could just disable the php error messages so your users do not see them.

Just place the following line in the .htaccess file in your forum root:
php_flag display_errors off

As for the error you are getting, I suspect you are using mysqli instead of mysql. There is nothing wrong with that, actually it is the preferred way with php5, but the memberlist code works only with the old mysql. I haven't tested this though, just looked at the code.

As far as I know their is not a template hook to for dynamic placement of the Awards Showcase at that location.

You would have to manually edit your postbit template.

As for the people requesting that the border be removed from the Awards Showcase within the postbit, the next release does have 3 different display options that you can choose from. Currently I'm tackling the sort orders within the awards system. Once that is completed, I will release an update.

Hello, I have the mod installed and just about everything is fine except for one bug (I'm using 3.7.4 PL1).

In the settings for sending the PM alerting the award recipient, I entered the user ID of the Admin we want to show as the PM sender. However, when the person receives the PM it shows the Admins user ID # as the sender instead of showing the senders name. When the pm is opened however, everything is normal and the pm looks fine when viewed. Any idea what might be wrong ? Thank you !

I have a right side column on every page on my board and the awards.php?do=viewaward page pushes my right side column all the way to the bottom.Is there anyway to fix it?

This mod just isnt working very well for me. It doesnt send a PM when someone gets an award. When I checked it out, I clicked to change the body or the subject and got this: No Phrases Matched Your Query

Also, in the Awards tab in the profile, all the information about the award is in the single column under "Image" and the description area is blank unless I choose to show the image. I dont want the image shown because that is twice the work.

Anything that can be done? I looked through this thread a bit, but its like

i got mine needing the award system when i uninstall the plugin XML file, it gives me this error:

Edit: Ok...i've read justabout every page and cant find my problem...

i DL'd the file...
extracted files.
uploaded the 'upload' file to my server (do i upload it to the 'forum' link in my server?)
then i uploaded the xml document into the products part in the ACP in VB..

now..it shows up as award system in the pull down menu settings...but does not appear in the main colum on the left in the acp....

what am I missing or doing wrong???

You need to upload the files to the respective dir's, not just upload the upload folder.

I wish there is an option to display some of the awards in specific forum only and not in all of forums, for example if i have a forum for sport competitions i will display the awards that the user get in the form of sport competition and not in other forums, but all of awards will display in profile surly.

Another huge thing for me would be to have the award postbit links to point to the awards tab on the profile. Or to have a minitab at the right side of the profile page (below mini-statistics, for example).

So when a user has an active subscription a scheduled task fires off a script that awards the user with a specific award, and when that subscription expires the same script will remove the award and PM the user.

Right, just written some instructions and uploaded the file and instructions to here (http://www.spacejelly.co.uk/subs2award.rar)for anyone interested.

NOTE: It is specific to the install I done and only works with one subscription and one award, but would be simple enough to tweak for multiple awards / subscriptions. It doesn't stop you having multiple awards however as you pick the award you want to link to the subscription.

A user has posted an updated version of the awards_memberlist.php file. It will be included in the next release.

If you read some of the posts, with the release of YaAS for vBulletin 3.8, the version scheme has changed. v3.7.4 is the latest release for vBulletin 3.7.

I have about 60 awards and the page gets pretty lengthy so I'd like to start having two awards per row on the main request page.

After I finish working out some issues that I'm running into I will try my best to implement the following:
* Points values on awards
* Awards issued based on postcount -- cron based?
* Add option to remove Award Request Forum threads - leaving it 0 breaks the request option.

We want to display the award icons in several lines, i.e., add a line break after every 10th icon. Would the following change in the product-yet_another_award_system.xml do the trick?

Seems i cant find the answer here. but i installed this mod without any probs. but i cant se the awards anywere. the only spot i can se who i have awarded is in the memberlist.

you should code some new features for this like triggers, i'd love to see this developed more so that users can set automatically given awards when a certain parameter is met (for example a user reaches X posts, a user has logged on X ammount of times) heres a neat little list (ok i lied its rather big) of some triggers us admins would probably want to see (hey maybe even code a feature that will let us invent our own and share them):

User reaches X posts
User has been a member for X days/months/years
User has logged in X ammount of times
User has viewed a certain page
User has edited a certain field in their profile
User has gained X ammount of rep (+ive and -ive)
User has left a comment on someones profile
User has donated X (or bought subscription)
User has been promoted to new usergroup
User has X ammount of buddies/friends

i can probably think of tonnes more. if these were available i'm sure this mod would go far i'm pretty sure people would pay for features like this added.

I agree with the above post. We should have the option of setting it up so whenever somebody reaches a certian postcount, and has been registered for a certain time length, their old badge dissapears and they get the new updated one.

First of all thanks to the coder for this mod, my members dig it. I do have a question, I'm using the 4.0 version and I noticed that when I go a member profile and look on the awards tab I have 3 columns. Icon, Image and Description but they are not spaced the way I would like or its not displaying correctly. It appears that the description is in the image column somehow. Really, I would like to just have the Icon and the description with why the member received the award.

I wanted to do something similar so came up with this method that works great. Allow access to moderators in the options (Turn on YAAS in ModCP)

Now create a new User Profile Field as follows;

Type: Single-Selection Radio Buttons
Name: Award System Manager
Options:
No
Yes

Set Default: Yes
Field Editable by User: No
Private Field: Yes
Field Searchable on Members List: No
Show on Members List: No

Now go into the Plugin Manager and Edit Plugin YAAS - Give Award to User Nav
Find
if ($vbulletin->options['aw_modcp'])

replace with (or comment out and add below)
if ($vbulletin->userinfo['fieldXX'] == 'Yes')
Where fieldXX is the User Profile Field ID of the field you've just created.

My entire block for that now looks like (note I commented out the first line)

I am using this mod (right now in actual version 3.7.4) since version for vBulletin 3.5.x, but becouse of recently server load problems I noticed, that when I enable showing of awards for postbit_legacy it adds 12 queries when generating showthread (vB 3.8.1). Is it normal? Becouse I am using this mod since older version for vBulletin 3.5.x, I tried uninstall it on separate copy of forum for testing purposes (vB 3.8.0) and when I install this mod again (version 3.7.4) as fresh install, it adds 15 queries to showthread - that is too many from my point of view.

How many queries it should add to showthread with enabled viewing of awards in postbit? What are your observations?
