(This hack is for vb version 3.7.x & 3.8.x ONLY. For vb 3.6.x, 3.5.x, 3.0.x and 2.x see my profile for relevant threads.)

"WebTemplates" is a vBulletin integrated Content Management System which allows you to create vb integrated "HTML" pages in your vb admin cp very easily. The pages can inherit your vbulletin skin/style, can recognize logged-in user, can be applied permissions per user or usergroup basis, can keep visit logs, hit counts and do many more.

VB4 version Update (9.9.2010): Please find 4.x version of WebTemplates4.x in its own thread (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=250202).

WEBTEMPLATES 3.7.x BASIC FEATURES:
Very Easy Installation : Webtemplates can be installed to your board without modifying even a single vbulletin file. It is coded as a vb product and can be imported very easily.
Apply VB Permissions: You can ban any webtemplate to any user or usergroups easily. So for instance you can design a webtemplate which only members can see while guests can not, or only user A can not see etc.
Page Counter : Each webtemplate has a built-in counter and you can display page count to your visitors and you can edit it or turn it OFF/ON per webtemplate basis.
Visitor Logging&Tracking : You can track certain users' (by usergroup or userid) webtemplate visits to see who visited a webtemplate and when. This is configurable per webtemplate basis.
Site Contributers (Editor) Support : You can grant editing permissions for certain users or usergroups for your webtemplates individually and they will be able to update these webtemplates using their own editor interface. vB's WYSIWYG editor is supported in Editor interface.
Page Browsers & Who is Online Display: Webtemplates can display who is browsing that webtemplate while visitor is reading them (like default forum browse display of vbulletin). Webtemplate visits can also be monitored in who is online page.
Header/Footer Inclusion : Webtemplates can automatically use headers/footers (your default vb header/footer or custom ones)
Help Documents : The script comes with an extensive help document.
Admin Panel in Webtemplates : Your webtemplates can include an "admin panel" displayed to only admins and by using them you can access many details and stats of your page while you are browsing them.
SEO friendly URLs: You can make webtemplate URLs seo friendly in vb settings (Requires apache server).
XML Import/Export : XML Import/Export feature allows you to backup your webtemplates and use other hack users webtemplates in your board. ADVANCED FEATURES FOR ADVANCED USERS:
Webquery Feature : With advanced "webquery" feature you can create dynamic webtemplates which include database query results. For instance you can easily add "last 10 threads forum X", "most active users list" etc. to your webtemplates with default webqueries that comes with installation or you can create your custom webqueries with basic SQL knowledge.
Multi Parsing : Webtemplates can parse PHP or HTML or TEXT (=smilie/img tags/bbcode parsing like vb posts). This means you can design a page just like vb posts (TEXT parsing), standart HTML (HTML parsing) or even in PHP (PHP parsing).
PHPINCLUDE per webtemplate : Every webtemplate has its own "phpinclude" field which you can run PHP codes before loading the Webtemplate
Theme Support : Webtemplates support "themes" which are parent webtemplates which include child webtemplates in them. For instance if you have 20 similiar pages which uses the same visual look, you can make a single theme for all of them, then just insert their content into this theme. If you change theme later, all 20 pages' visual will change automatically.
Conditionals : Webtemplates supports VB3 template conditionals so you can design webtemplates which change their display under different conditions.
Default variables : You can use/display certain variables in your webtemplates like username of the visitor, visitor email address, last visit time, page creation time, page last edit time, Last visitor name, last visit time etc.Sample WebTemplates from Sites using this hack:
(Some 3.5 and some are 3.0 versions but WebTemplate look and feel didn't change much so both will give you the idea.)

(Actually this hack is one of the most popular vb hacks so it is used by hundreds -if not thousands- of vbulletin sites and you can easily find them if you go to google and search "Logician's WebTemplates" WITH quotation marks)

3.5 version Admin CP screenshot attached to this post. 3.0.x screenshots (here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=24011) and here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=24012)) also still applies for this version.

If you use the hack, clicking here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/vborg_miscactions.php?do=installhack&threadid=186644) will make sure you'll know about updates&bug fixes. It will also help me understand how many people is using the hack so please click the install button (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/vborg_miscactions.php?do=installhack&threadid=186644) if you use it. Thank you..

About this 3.7.xx Version: This 3.7.xx version is same as previous 3.6.x version. 3.6.x version was already working in vbulletin 3.7.x except a few minor bugs and these bugs are fixed in this version to make it dedicated solely to vbulletin 3.7.x. Please see "what's new" in the next post for more details.

Version Updates:
29.July.2008 - > Version 3.7.00
* Hack 3.7.00 is released.

Pre-Installation & Post-Installation FAQs:

Webtemplate Pre-Installation FAQ:

1) I still didn't understand what webtemplate is. Can you clarify more?

Webtemplate is a HTML (or php) page. It is different than your other HTML pages in that you can create them in your vbulletin admin cp and you can integrate them with your vbulletin like applying them vb permissions, styles etc.

2) Uh! This hack looks too complicated! I'm a newbie; can I use it?

This hack has powerful features. But it does not mean you have to learn and use all the features. If you are a newbie, you can be pretty happy with its primary feature: Administering your webpages in your vb admin cp and apply vb permissions on them. For this you need no knowledge on anything. Simple copy / paste HTML code of your page, give it a name, enter user/usergroup ID who are banned from this page, click save and you have a webtemplate ready and published automatically. You'll also find a "How to Create your First WebTemplate" document in the ZIP file.

3) Is installation/uninstallation easy?

Yes, can't be easier. Webtemplates is NOT an hack so you don't need to modify any vbulletin files to install webtemplates.

4) Is Webtemplates a portal system?

Umm, no, not exactly! I would define a portal system as a content management system for especially targeting your site home page. I didn't hear a portal which does not replace your site home page. Webtemplates has similiar features like a portal, however it is not designed to replace your site home page. Webtemplates are your "other" site pages but site home.

5) For what can I use this hack?

You can use it to create pages that needs to inherit your vb skin and permissions. For instance you can design pages like "About Us", "Donations" etc.

6) Can I use other portal/vbulletin integrated home page hacks (eg. vbadvanced) with webtemplates?

Yes you can. Webtemplates neither substite/replace any of them, nor touch them.

7) Can I use a webtemplate as my site home page?

It is not designed to act as a site home page. I don't use it as my site home page in my site either. However since the prior version, some hack users always insisted to use this hack as their site home page and they managed to do it too. Basically you can do it in 2 ways:
a) you can create a file named index.php and use this line in it:
<?php include ("http://www.yourdomain.com/forum/view.php?pg=your_template"); ?>
When you upload this file in your site home directory, your site home page will be a webtemplate.

b)You can edit your .htaccess file and make a redirection so that whenever your main page (=index.htm or index.html) is called, server opens your webtemplate. A sample redirection line is that:

Redirect /index.html http://www.yoururl.com/forum/view.php?pg=your_template (http://www.yoururl.com/forum/view.php?pg=your_template)

Please search keywords ".htaccess+redirect" in google for more info about .htaccess redirection

Although both methods are safe and effective, I neither encourage, nor support site main page webtemplates as the system is not designed this way in the first place.

8) Does it work in all 3.7.x? What about 3.6.x?

Yes, I would say. It is tested with 3.7.0, 3.7.1, 3.7.2 and it should work new coming vb versions until 4.x shows up. For older vb versions (3.6.x, 3.5.x, 3.0.x, 2.x) please relevant hack threads in my profile. The version in this thread is for vb 3.7.x only.

9) How is the hack performance? Does it affect server load? Does it have a lot of queries?

Webtemplates is coded to perform "very well" even under heavy load. A webtemplate has an average of 12-18 queries per page. How many queries you have, depends on which features you enabled for that webtemplate and how many webqueries you use in it.

However always bear in mind that webtemplates, vbulletin itself, or any other dynamic PHP pages which make connection to MYSQL database can never be as "performance friendly" as static HTML pages. Static HTML pages is not dynamic (so does not change according to different conditions etc.) but much less server intensive. So especially in heavy loaded servers and for heavy traffic pages, you may want to use default static .html pages especially if you are not after having a dynamic content in them.

But if you are ready to use a dynamic script/structure/software/solution then webtemplates is NOT a performance killer, you can enjoy this hack. Its performance and affect on the server load is very similiar to a regular vbulletin page, like vb forum home page.

10) Do you support this hack? Why is it marked s "Unsupported", it seems like it is quite supported to me?

I have way a lot of hacks (most of them are old now but still) and if you check them, all of them are marked as unsupported and this is intentional. As a matter of fact, I do my BEST to give support for all of them, I deal with ALL security related issues (if any), ALL major bugs (if any), MOST of the minor bugs (if any) and reply a lot of questions but I don't like to "make promises" like giving support because this disappoints people if they can't get a reply for a question and I can't promise to answer ALL questions at all times.

So my personal preferrance is to mark my hacks as "unsupported" but then give as much support as I can afford with my time. And this is usually, for the most times and hopefully "a very good support".

However please remember: I can not commit my entire life to support this free hack. If there is any general bugs, problems or security issues in the hack, I'll do my best to fix them ASAP and release new versions in this thread. You are also very welcomed to ask any hack related questions or future requests here in this thread but please excuse me if I can not find time to answer all. I also don't have plans to enhance the hack in the near future so new feature requests are welcomed but should not be expected to be implemented. I also have many other hacks released here that requires my attention and time so webtemplates is not the only project I devote my time. Thanks for understanding.

11) I was using WebTemplates in 3.5x/3.6.x board and I have custom WebTemplates. Can I keep them in version 3.7 ?

Yes, you can.

12) Vbadvanced or WebTemplates? I can't decide.

Actually they are not in the same league: vbadvanced's main focus is your site main page. Webtemplates main focus is your site's other pages like "about us", "donate to us", "our press existence" etc.

So I don't think you have to choose one between these two. If you want to create a vb powered site home page, you should go with vbadvanced and if you want to create vb powered other site pages, you have to go with Webtemplates. If you want to do both, you can use both too.

So why don't you just install both and try each of them, then decide? Both are free, well coded, well documented, well supported and quite easy to install or uninstall.

Webtemplate Post-Installation FAQ:

1) I have installed the webtemplates but I guess it does not work ok?

Double check you've installed it correctly. Especially make sure you uploaded the files to the correct locations.

If you are sure you installed it correctly, then check the thread to see if someone posted a similiar problem and get an answer. If no, post your problem into the thread but please give details! It does not help me to read "the hack does not work!", I need details like what exactly happens when you visit admin cp, default webtemplates etc., what error messages/screens you get etc.

2) Can webtemplates parse PHP code?

Yes, it can. Besides you are given 2 grounds to run PHP:
a) You can make a webtemplate's marking as PHP and it will be treated as a PHP script.
b) Even if your parsing is HTML or TEXT, you can still have php incode in phpinclude section of the webtemplate which will run before webtemplate is displayed.

However its PHP parsing capability is limited to vbulletin's PHP parsing capability due to its integration with vb. In other words if your PHP code does not work fine in vb pluggin system, it wouldn't work fine as a webtemplate either.

If you want to run an external php application within vbulletin with vb header/footer etc., please see this post (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1614185&postcount=127) (and also reservations there).

3) Can I put view.php in a different directory?

No. This requires too many modifications in the hack code so I don't suggest or support it. Do it by your own risk.

4) Can webtemplates include other webtemplates in it?

a) Webtemplates can include header / footer webtemplates in them. So if you need to include webtemplate A, in webtemplate B, you can make A a header or footer.
b) Hack also supports "themes" which are webtemplates that include other webtemplates in them. So you can make webtemplate B a theme to include webtemplate A in it.
c) Webtemplates can include regular vb templates in them.
d) Other than that webtemplates can NOT include other webtemplates in them, nor nests loops: (eg A includes B, B includes C etc.)

5) I want display login box if visitor is a guest and log off link if visitor is a member, can I do it?

Yes, use variable $WT_Login in your webtemplate

6) You say Webtemplates inherits visual look (colors/fonts) of our forum. This is good but I want to create a webtemplate with a different design, say red background color. Can I do it?

Yes. Simply create your HTML Code and paste it into webtemplate field and you have your red backgrounded page.

Your Webtemplates inherits your visual design when you use vbulletin HTML tags in your webtemplates. (like default vbulletin templates uses). For instance if you use

<div class=normaltext>Hello</div>
in your webtemplates your text "Hello" will be displayed in the default font (color, size, font name etc.) of your board. But if you use:
<font face="Times New Roman" color="#FF0000" size="4">Hello</font>
your webtemplates will display "Hello" in Times New Roman, RED color and size 4.

7) I want to post smilies/bbcode/IMG tags to my webtemplate, can I?

Yes. Simply change your webtemplate parse method as TEXT. In TEXT parsing, webtemplates will display your bbcodes/smilies etc.

After that, if you want to have a page creation enviroment like thread posting (bbcode/smilie boxes are displayed in formation page), design your webtebtemplate in editor interface instead of admin interface.

8) How do I backup my webtemplates?

1- While backing up your database in your admin cp, vbulletin will back up your webtemplate tables too.
2- You can export your webtemplates/webqueries as XML files. You are welcomed to share them here with other hack users.

9) I have more than 1 database. Can webqueries query my other databases?

No. They only query the database your vbulletin resides.

10) Can webtemplate content be searched in Vbulletin search?

No.

11) Do Webtemplates have search engine friendly URLs?

Yes. However it works only in apache servers. See help document for more info.

12) How can I create a webquery that does X?

You are welcomed to ask these questions and I'm hoping that someone will help you with creating custom webtemplates/webqueries but please understand that I can not take time to answer all "how can I create such webquery" questions as there are infinite SQL queries that can be requested. Thanks for understanding.

13) Can I add a vb poll into a webtemplate?

Manually yes.. Simply copy paste its HTML code. Automatically no.

14) Can I use this as a news page by retriving last X posts from forum Y?

It is possible. As a matter of fact I've included a sample webquery to do that into the installation and you can check it in the test2 webtemplate.

15) Can I use vb Phrases in WebTemplates?

Mostly. Webtemplate recognizes and parses the vb phrases that are in GLOBAL group and in some other groups which are specified in the begining of "view.php" starting with this line: $phrasegroups = array('

You can edit this line to add more phrase groups to webtemplates pages. Though only basic phrases in these groups are supported, not the advanced ones that includes {1} {2} in it.

16) How can I use "Editors" feature effectively?

You can assign Editors to your webtemplates who can edit them by using their own editor interface.

If your editors know HTML, that is ok, then you can assign them to any webtemplate you like even the ones with HTML parsing.

However in most cases your site helpers will not know HTML to customize your HTML templates. If this is the case, you can follow this strategy:
1- Create a theme (with HTML parsing) and design it yourself with HTML.
2- Create child webtemplates that uses this theme. Make sure child webtemplates has TEXT parsing (not HTML).
3- Assign your editors to these child webtemplates. Since they are in TEXT parsing, your editors interface will now include smilie box, BBCode box and will look like exactly thread posting interface. They can then design the webtemplate with BBCode, smilies, IMG tags just like they are posting a new thread and without any need to use HTML commands.

17) Can link a certain section (paragraph, line etc.) in a webtemplate?

Yes you can:

a) Insert an HTML anchor to the location you want to link (eg. to the very begining of the paragraph) like this : <a name="anchor1"></a>

b) Then you can link this section like this:
http://www.yoururl.com/forum/view.php?pg=your_template#anchor1 (http://www.yoururl.com/forum/view.php?pg=your_template#anchor1)

18) Can I use vb's WYSIWYG Editor to design Webtemplates?

Yes. However not in your admin interface, but in the editor interface. So create a webtemplate page, then visit it and click "Edit This Page" link you see in stats line which will take you to the editor interface. You'll have WYSIWYG editor in that interface provided that:
a) That is your set bbcode interface in your usercp
b) The webtemplate is a "TEXT" parsed webtemplate.

19) Can Webtemplates run FLASH code in it?

Webtemplates can do anything regular HTML pages can do, so yes, they allow flash too. Just create your flash snippet and add it to your webtemplate just like you are adding in a regular .html page. Make sure your webtemplate's parsing is set as "HTML".

20) How can I uninstall it?

Select "uninstall" in Product Manager and it will automatically uninstall. Uninstalling does not remove database tables so that your custom webtemplates will not be lost when you reinstall. If you want to delete database records too run this query :
DROP TABLE `wt35_query`, `wt35_theme`, `wt35_visitlog`, `wt35_webtemplate`;

21) It is nice to see WebTemplate visits in Who is Online but I have a private WebTemplate which I want to hide from other WOL visitors. Can I do that?

Yes. Rename your webtemplate and make sure its name starts with affix priv_

22) After the installation, I get "Fatal error: Call to undefined function: key_exists()". Any fix for this?

Yes. See here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=853106#post853106 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=853106#post853106)

23) Editor interface of regular users can be improved in many ways to create other hacks around Webtemplates. What do you think?

Please read this : https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=880487&postcount=163 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=880487&postcount=163)

24) If I ban a certain usergroup from viewing a webtemplate, anybody who belongs to this usergroup in anyway is banned even if their primary usergroup is different. Can the permission system work differently?

Please read this : https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=886907&postcount=180 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=886907&postcount=180)

25) When I try to export existing webtemplates and webqueries, I get an error message? Any fix for this?

Please make sure you have the correct version of webtemplate that goes well with your vb version. If you have vb 3.7.x, you should use the hack in this thread but if you have vb 3.5.x or 3.6.x, you should install webtemplate version 3.6.xx.

26) I have quoteit! hack and I get Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in .... /forums/view.php(901) : eval()'d code on line 1 error in webtemplates.

Read here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=1576908#post1576908 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=1576908#post1576908)

26) How can I decide which admins can access WebTemplates section in admin cp

WebTemplates admin section checks the permission of "Can Edit Styles" for admins. So you can turn this permission on/off per admin basis to grant/revoke access

27) I put some HTML code into a webtemplate but it is displaying it "as is". Where is my vbulletin skin, header, footer etc.?

Make sure you select a THEME for your webtemplate rather than making it an independant WebTemplate. You can edit the webtemplate and select a theme (eg. Default Basic Theme) for it.

28) I use vbseo. How can I make my webtemplates parsed with vbseo?

Webtemplates has its own seo system as described in help documents. I don't use vbseo myself and I didn't combine them together but you can check this post (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1800354&postcount=421)to read contribution of DaveS about this issue. (thanks DaveS!)

What's New in WebTemplate 3.7.x Version

3.5.x/3.6.x version of this hack was already working fine with vb 3.7.x as announced in its official thread (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=103076). However there was some minor bugs here and there, export webtemplate section was not working without a patch and it was received many "is this hack works with 3.7.x" questions as the released forum was for 3.5.x hacks so I rerelease the hack in this correct forum by also including patches and bug fixes. The hack in this thread is for 3.7.x only and it includes all patches and fixes 3.6.x version included to this date. Except that there is not much changes or additions, just a few as listed below:

So here is the changelog for WebTemplates 3.7.x:
Webtemplate export section and other minor 3.7.x bugs are fixed to make the hack fully compatible with vb 3.7.x
"Sort order" field added to webtemplate admin management section so that admin can change the listing order of webtemplates in admin cp and also in webqueries
A new 2 columned default webtemplate "Site Information Pages Template" and a webquery "$WQ_siteinformationitems" that is used by this template is added.
Some new default webtemplates like "About Us" "Are you a New Member?", "Link Our Site", "Donate to our Site", "Site Privacy Policy", "Forum Rules and Etiquette", "Terms of Service and Legal Notices" are added. They use "Site Information Pages Template" theme, automatically link eachother at the end of each page and in a navigation left column and involves default content which you can use in your forums.
Help documentation is revised.
A webquery to demostrate "paginated use of webtemplate&webqueries" are added.

How to Upgrade to Webtemplates 3.7.x from WebTemplates 3.5.x/3.6.x version:

If you are an existing hack user and want to upgrade to this version, you can simply follow the INSTALLATION document in the zip file as if you are installing as a first time user. Upgrading the hack is no different than first time installation and you follow each installation step as instructed except STEP 4.

Upgrading from a previous version does not touch your existing webtemplates/webqueries so you'll keep them in the new version.

If you edited wt_include.php to create custom webtemplate categories, please remember to add these lines to the new wt_include.php as well.

Also please remember this version in this thread is for vbulletin 3.7.x and above only. Please don't install it if you don't have vb 3.7 or above.

I love this mod.
Thanks for the update, Logician!

Suggestion: implement the new "post edit history" in vb3.7.x, like vb's posts, or like edit-history in wikipedia's articles. Could be useful if some editor mess up one page, or just to get back the editions in one page.

Question for ya
Is there anyway to reduce the gap between the items in the site information template?

Is there anyway to reduce the gap between the items in the site information template?

Actually it was intentional but yes you can remove it if you want to. Edit webtemplate theme named "Site Information Pages Template" and change section that says height="400"

It does. As a matter of fact, there is a default webquery that does exactly this in the default installation. Please see webtemplate named "test2" and webquery named $WQ_last5threadcontentsfromforum2

It is not about hack, its regular HTML (+vbulletin css) which produces the gap. Whereever you use the bullet points in vbulletin, you'll see such a gap. You can just edit the webquery $WQ_siteinformationitems, remove bullet points there and instead use another syntax like

* <a href='view_$WQfield[title].htm'><b>$WQfield[userfriendlyname]</b></a><br />

Change webquery $WQ_webtemplateslist and use something like:

If you put a HTML code which displays tabs into your webtemplate, it will display it. If you have a tabbed header in your vb, use default vb header in your webtemplates and it will automatically inherit it. If you create a new webtemplate header with tabbed view, you can use this custom header in your webtemplates to have such a display.

It is not the hack, it is somehow related to your CSS files/custom design, I'm not sure how to fix it.

Your forum home page has a
<div class="nav_border_out">
<div class="nav_border_in">

</div>
</div>

section which gives the white background to your site but webtemplate does not have it. This means this section is not part of your default vb header/footer although it should. You should contact your designer to make sure vb header/footer has necessary html codes such as this so that webtemplate can inherit them.

I also was not able to find where to edit the side column such as the Site Help Pages found here http://www.talkjesus.com/view.php?pg=info_linktous

You have to edit the theme webtemplate it is using. For this example it is Site Information Pages Template

Admittedly I have not read through all of the materials as of yet. But, before I spend too much time on this wonderful hack, I wanted to make sure that I could do something in particular with it.

What I'm looking to do is to make a sort of 'splash page' for a new domain that I'm starting. It is sort of an 'entry' page where I'm using it as a launch point for three different areas of the site. So, what I'd like to do is keep the overall 'feel' and color scheme of our site, but 'disable' (or make it not show at all) from the header to the navbar.

Therefore, it allows me to keep my header/logo (or put a custom one if I choose) and then the 'main' area with the three different launch points that I wanted to use for the body of the new page.

Is this possible with this hack/mod?

Yes you can do what you want. After the installation, create a new parent webtemplate which is exact copy of one of the defaults (eg. Default Basic Theme), than edit it and remove sections you don't need (eg. $navbar). If you don't want header or footer as well, you can remove them too or create new webtemplate headers/footers with your changes and use that one in your splash page.

However when you told "a new domain that I'm starting", I hope that forum is also under that same domain. Obviously you can't have forum in domain A and splash page in domain B. :) Webtemplates will be in the same domain your forum is installed.

These problems are really related to the set up of your custom skin file. It is not easy for me to track them down and fix. In a correctly set vb skin structure, there will be no such differences but if you designer changes the vb skin's structure and used some elements in navbar instead of header or viceversa, webtemplates might not follow it.

For instance when I compare source codes of your pages I see your forumhome page is inside a

<div align="center">
<div class="page" style="width:100%; text-align:left">
<div style="padding:0px 15px 0px 15px" align="left">

</div>
</div>
</div>

frame which your webtemplate is not. I don't know where does this structure comes from. In a regular vb skin structure it should be set in header/footer and if it were the case, webtemplate would also acquire it automatically. (provided that you use default vb header/footer in your webtemplate setting!). But say if your designer put this structure inside forumhome template, webtemplate might not inherit it, hence problem.

You can try to use this inside your webtemplate theme and see if it will fix things and if not, I suggest you to contact the skin designer.

I'm going to try it out in the next couple of days (hopefully this Tropical Storm doesn't turn into a Hurricane or do damage in our area) and report back if I need some help.

As far as the quoted statement...I was planning on having a new 'entry-point' to my site with it's own domain name and have it 'point' to the new template page created. But, I just realized that I won't be able to do that directly. I'd have to do a 301 redirect to the web template page that I create. Then, launch to wherever I'd like to from there. That should work, right?

I then have my WDBHUB.com domain that I'd like to use this template for. But, since I can't use it directly on the domain name....I would have to do a little 301 redirect from that domain name to the WaltDisneyBoards.com/NewTemplatePage so that it would 'seem' like this NewTemplatePage was at this different domain.

That would work, I assume.

301 redirection will work but then the url will change. So for instance your visitor will type wdbhub.com in her browser but after 301 redirection, she'll end up at waltdisneyboards.com/forum/view.php?pg=wdbhub

If this is ok, yes you can do it. If you don't want browser url to change, you can consider options these:
1- If you domain registration company supports domain forwarding you can give it a forwarding command in your control panel and their name server will automatically push users to your webtemplate without domain change
2- You can put a simple html file to your wdbhub.com which has a iframe to waltdisneyboards.com/forum/view.php?pg=wdbhub and users will not notice domain change in the addressbar. ;)

As to the first suggestion, I'd have to check with godaddy.com to see if they have that option. I would assume they do, but I'll check into it.

Any suggestions as to how to do the second option you mentioned? I'm not good with HTML. Any help with this would be appreciated.

I haven't read through all of the material yet, but are there templates already included for those of us that are not familiar with HTML? I was planning on purchasing or downloading a template that I liked from somewhere on the 'net. But, if there is something that I can tweak, that would help me as well.

And, thanks for supporting your mod as you do! Fantastic job!

Yep it seems like it.

And as for the second method you can use a html code like this in your wdbhub.com domain:

<html>
<head>
<title>welcome to wdbhub.com</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=">

You can do it. Just add "$queryqueryresult" variable to your Query Result Row of your webquery. It will automatically number lines.

Your vb setting "Update Thread Views Immediately" decides this. Apparently you set it as no, so it is updated peridocally with a vb cron.

Excellent mod ! Very powerful !

I've got a simple question. On the page generated by this mod, the copyright notice at the bottom looks like : Powered by: vBulletin Version 3.7.2 & Logician's WebTemplates v.3.7.00
There is also a button for donation.

Is there is a branding free version ? I dont like to delete copyright but i have so many mods installed that every page got a different one ... so now i look for mod where we can get rid off copyright and just put a note on a special copyright page.

Regards
Greg

I appreciate if you keep the copyright notice. It is even linkless and I believe one line of copyright notice for a free powerful mod is a good deal. ;) However I send copyright removal instructions to all hack donators regardless of the amount they donated. (Except one interesting guy who sent 0.01 USD and I sent him a refund instead of instructions.) :rolleyes:

that was suppose to be $10.00, but I must have made a typo... I still intend on sending it, just need to get the money back into the account lol, sorry ( well it was late at night )

( it does say ANY amount anyway rofl *kidding* ) i think the work on it definitely deserves a donation

ANY amount was really fine but when you get 0.01, you think somebody is making fun of you and taking your time for nothing. Thanks for explaination, I didn't think it was a mistake until your message. Let me know your email and I can send you the instructions, it is np.

tbh... I am a web designer myself and I am also the lead administrator of a top web design forum ( around 45'000 members ) ... if I wanted to remove it i could have, I just think the mod is worth a donation...

thanks anyway lol

Do you mean hack links in the admin cp? Please make sure you uploaded forum/includes/xml/cpnav_webtemplates.xml file to the correct folder.

Is it going to be possible for me to embed code like this within my pages?

<script type="text/javascript" src="swfobject.js"></script>
<div id="flashcontent">This text is replaced by the Flash movie.
<script type="text/javascript"><!--
var flashvars = { active_state: "fl" };
swfobject.embedSWF("/statelaws.swf", "flashcontent", "640", "950", "8.0.0", "", flashvars);
// --></script>

Currently it isn't working but if I could get this working I can basically get rid of Joomla and go with vBulletin 100% on my site!

Firstly,
I?m trying to make a page with the last 30 threads showing forum-thread-user-date and succeeded. Almost.
The problem arises when I click on the forum name rather than the specific thread and I get
directed to the same forum (forum id7) every time. I?ve read through the posts on many versions of the mod and find nothing that resembles this. I should be grateful for any ideas/help.

SELECT thread.threadid AS threadid, thread.title AS title, thread.postusername AS postusername, thread.postuserid AS postuserid, thread.dateline AS dateline, forum.title AS ftitle, thread.forumid
FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "thread thread LEFT JOIN " . TABLE_PREFIX . "forum forum ON thread.forumid= forum.forumid
WHERE thread.sticky=0 AND thread.visible=1
ORDER BY dateline DESC
LIMIT 30

and lastl but not least: thank you Logician for this.
It?s so versatile and such a lot of fun to play around with. :)

What's your query result row? If you use $WQfield[forumid] there, it should work fine.

Thank you for your quick reply, Logician.

<tr align="center">
<td class="$alternate" align="left" WIDTH="25%" VALIGN="TOP"><div class="normalfont"><a href='forumdisplay.php?$session[sessionurl]t=$WQfield[forumid]'>$WQfield[ftitle]</a></div></td>
<td class="$alternate" align="left" WIDTH="50%" VALIGN="TOP"><div class="normalfont"><a href='showthread.php?$session[sessionurl]t=$WQfield[threadid]'>$WQfield[title]</a></div></td>
<td class="$alternate" WIDTH="10%" VALIGN="TOP"><div class="normalfont"><a href='member.php?$session[sessionurl]u=$WQfield[postuserid]'>$WQfield[postusername]</a></div></td>
<td class="$alternate" WIDTH="15%" VALIGN="TOP"><div style="font-size: 8pt; line-height: 10px;">$WQfield[dateline]</div></td>
</tr>

This is my query result row showing the $WQfield[forumid] but still I?m being directed to the same forum whichever forum I click on..

Interestingly, when I click a forum from the forum/index.php page I get this:
http://mysite/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=6

but when I click the same forum from the query page I get this:
http://mysite/forum/forumdisplay.php?t=6

Only the tiniest difference but enough to fool me, I?m afraid. :confused:

Actually you already found why: forumdisplay.php should take f parameter, not t parameter, so if you fix this in your query you are good to go:

<a href='forumdisplay.php?$session[sessionurl]f=$WQfield[forumid]'>$WQfield[ftitle]</a>

Logician (or anyone else that might know),

I just started playing with the web templates and decided to take a free template from the web, get the html and paste it into the admin description field for this mod. It doesn't show up correctly though at this point.

Here's what I entered....

Here's how it shows.... http://www.waltdisneyboards.com/view.php?pg=wdbhub and the attachment is how it should show.

Seems to have a huge space at the top (is this because a graphic is missing or am I doing something wrong?) and things shifted around just a bit.

Can anyone lend a hand to see if what I can do to fix it?

Thanks!
If you make it a "standalone" webtemplate which does NOT use a theme, it will show up fine but without your vb header/footer. (Also remember to make image URLs full urls or move images to your server otherwise images will be broken as source code can't find them in your server).

If you want to insert it inside a webtemplate theme which will display it between your header/footer you can't paste it as it is, you have to edit it to fit to your style. (which should require HTML knowledge).

Logician, how do I make it a 'standalone' webtemplate?

Edited: I guess I would simply select "no parent template", is that right?

I was originally going to keep some elements of the forums, but I think for this particular one, I just want to use a full template that I find.

Okay, so I have the 'skeleton' done and now just to continue to add the 'meat' to it :D

How can I 'pull' the recent threads from my forums to add into this page? (to replace the bulleted list under the first section - TheWDBoards)

okay thinking about using this and wondering ...

i have shopping cart software

http://cg-hq.com/dlg/cart/

is there a way to intergrate that page into vbulletin that way i have a the same header and footer and color scheme or is there a way to create the header footer on this page ? i still need to keep function of the cart software

would this be what i am needing ?

here is some more info to help

The shopping cart uses a simply HTML based template.

Modify the Cart Layout:

The small code snippet: <?php include("dlgcart.php"); ?> is used to display the actual shopping cart information.

The small code snippet: <?php include("cartmenu.php"); ?> is used to display the shopping cart category menu. This needs to be pasted AFTER the dlgcart.php tag as shown above.

The small code snippet: <?php include("cartcontents.php"); ?> is used to display products your customer currently has in their shopping cart. This needs to be pasted AFTER the dlgcart.php tag as shown above.

As far as I can see you have already done that but if you still have problems, please check webquery section in user manual as well as test2 webtemplate which does this.

Including a php file into vb system can not always be done as their functions/css etc. can clash but you can always test and see if it will work. Add such a code to your phpinclude section of your webtemplate:

$mycart = include("cartmenu.php");

Then use $mycart inside your webtemplate and see what will happen.

Looks very powerful. Can it do something like this...

www.1perfectworld.com

Look at the index page. It's a completely different design than the forum? And it has newest members, latest threads etc. Also could you do a page like this for example

http://1perfectworld.com/guides/races/warrior.php

And just redesign the template to make it look like just a normal page without all the vb header footer etc but just a normal looking page?

This is not for site main page as described in FAQ but as for other page, it seems doable. However please note that main goal of this hack is to create vb integrated HTML pages with your forum style so if you don't want to use vb header/footer, you can use simple HTML/php structure too.

Curious...

Would it be possible to utilize the 2 column theme, or something similar, in order to allow a skyscraper AdSense block on the left side?

If so how might one go about that?

I am sure I could figure it out, however, I just finished re-doing all my non vB pages into this mod, along with ALOT of tweaking throughout the process, and my eyes are crossed.

Logician, this is a great hack. I have a question hope you have a moment to tell me if this is possible with webtemplates.

I generate graphical forum signature using imagecreatefrompng(). On my forum it currently runs as an external page:

http://www.touch-buddy.com/tbsig/

This is a two stage process. 1) enter details and send submit, 2) show results.

I was hoping to integrate this with vbulletin styles etc using webtemplates. I createad a PHP page without problem and was able to generate an image, but its not wrapped in $header and $footer or the forum style.

I have read through the documentation and can't really figure out if I can do a html template with embedded php. When I tried this I simply got the HTML page with the php as text in the body.

Thanks for the hack!

Would it be possible to utilize the 2 column theme, or something similar, in order to allow a skyscraper AdSense block on the left side?

If so how might one go about that?

The package includes a default "two-column theme" in "Themes" at the bottom of the templates list.
Just copy all the code from there into a new template ("add a new theme") and configure as you like.
Then when you build your new template -"add new web template" you?ll click on your two column variant in the drop down box in "Using a Theme?"...

Edit webtemplate theme named "Two Column Theme", after $WT_Login part enter your skyscraper code, then use this theme in your webtemplates

For those who want to run external PHP applications within vb style, I created a php test webtemplate which you can use. Here is instructions to use it:

1- First import this attached XML file for sample webtemplate in your admin cp/Logician's Webtemplates/export-import/Import Webtemplates section.
2- Then go to your webtemplate list find the new webtemplate named "phptest2" and click edit.
3- Find section that says

// ============================
// Put Your PHP CODE right after this line

// ============================

4- Put your external PHP application's code AFTER the line like this

// ============================
// Put Your PHP CODE right after this line
YOUR CODE GOES HERE WITHOUT // AT THE BEGINING
// ============================

Here is a sample:

// ============================
// Put Your PHP CODE right after this line

echo "Time now is $today<br><br>";
echo "You registered this board at ".date('M-d-Y h:i:s',$vbulletin->userinfo[joindate]);

// ============================

Important Note:

Webtemplates main goal is NOT running PHP code or integrating PHP code with vbulletin, this is just an additional bonus which can sometimes work for certain applications. Integrating any PHP application with vbulletin is usually is not as easy as that. When you have 2 PHP applications (vbulletin and your other application) running at the same time, you are likely to have unexpected problems. For instance they can have same function names and they can clash, have same variable names and overwrite eachother's variables etc. Trying to integrate 2 PHP applications usually requires a lot of work on code level of both applications. So this method is likely to NOT work for many applications. However if your application is not very advanced and you are lucky that it does not have any clashing issues with vbulletin, you might run it like this. If you are able to run it with this method, you should be very happy but if you can't please don't blame the hack which as nothing to do with this, nor intended to do handle such a project. So I'm sharing this tip "as is" basis, hoping it can help "some" people around but stressing again that Webtemplate Hacks intention is not provide PHP integration with external scripts. ;)

Simply AWESOME support and replies. The more I "play" with this, the more I can't understand how I managed without it. Makes for seamless non-vB page integration.

Please make sure:
1- Your webtemplate's parsing is HTML
2- Your webtemplate is NOT using a theme. (Set theme as "No Parent Webtemplate")
3- You have uploaded your flash file to the correct directory. Upon your config, it should be in:
yourforumdir/v3flashslideshow/slideshow.swf

When you say webpage is it the original page you took the source code or is it a HTML file in your server? Please make sure you put it in a html file IN YOUR SERVER and see it fine there. If you can see it fine there, let me know the url of this html file and webtemplate and I'll check.

My have a bible script installed called Bible Supersearch. The main php page (index) is this:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">

<?php

require_once("bible/bible/bible_config.php");
require_once("bible/bible/bible_system.php");

$interface=$_GET['interface'];

if($interface==""){$interface=$default_interface;}
if($interface=="standard"){$interface=$standard_interface;}

// manually set interface
// $interface="standard";

require_once("bible/bible/interfaces/$interface.php");

?>

I get a blank page when I use this in the phptest template. The path tot he "require_once" commands are correct too. The phptest template is parsed as php by default of course.

One, hopefully, final question.

In all the instructions, it states that TEXT parsed pages can be edited either with BBCode or you can open the WYSIWYG editor. I have not been able to figure out how to get the WYSIWYG editor to function, on TEXT parsed pages, and I do have it enabled in vB Admin Options.

Thoughts?

You should enable WYSIWYG editor for members in your admin cp/vb options and also set your editor so in your usercp/edit options page.

In other words you should be able to use it for regular vb posts so as to use it for WTs.

That's what I figured, and that's how my board has always been setup, and verified during my quandary surrounding this. Not a big deal, at all, just more of a curiosity as to why it won't work. I use HTML in most pages anyway, but a few are TEXT parsed.

Just to clarify: Your vb options page allows users to use WYSIWYG editor and you also selected to use this in your personal usercp/options page (option named "Message Editor Interface") but you can't see WYSIWYG editor when you edit a TEXT webtemplate by clicking edit this webtemplate link in the webtemplate's footer?

At the bottom of the page 'priv_privatemessages.html' it says this:

"Note: As this webtemplate names starts with "priv_" it is hidden to everybody but admins in who is online."

But when I check the Who's Online display as a guest, it shows the admin viewing: "Unknown Location: priv_privatemessages.html"

Is there no way to hide this?

This is not default behaviour and you should be giving guests too much priviledges. Fix it like this:
vb admin cp/usergroup manager/Who's Online Permissions/ set these as no:
Can View Detailed Location Info for Users
Can View Detailed Location Info of Users Who Visit Bad / No Permission Locations
Can view actual location of user (filepath/url).

I want my guests to have those privileges with the exception of 'priv_privatemessages.html'.
I'm sorry but this is not possible. If you give guests to see everything in wol (even hidden urls), they will see that one too. Guests (actually even members) are not suppose to see such hidden urls in the first place. In your settings they will even see when an admin bans a user or doing something in the admin cp.

If you are determined to keep the setting like this, then edit your webtemplate and name it something like "donations.html" so people won't understand what it is about.

Hello Sir,

regarding my email ........ it's fixed, I did some trial and error by editing the

- USERCP_SHELL template and USERCP_SHELL_ICONS template

other question :

does your mod only support by default to address with "www" in the address ? because I tested by logging in to, for ex http://myforum-address (without www) and try to visit one of the webtemplate (for ex : view.php?pg=test) and I got the error don't have permission.

and I still don't get about the "accesskey" in your manual installation file, because I'm not a coder :confused:

does your mod only support by default to address with "www" in the address ? because I tested by logging in to, for ex http://myforum-address (without www) and try to visit one of the webtemplate (for ex : view.php?pg=test) and I got the error don't have permission.

and I still don't get about the "accesskey" in your manual installation file, because I'm not a coder :confused:

Thank's for the mod :D
having www. in the url or not is not about this mod. If you login to your forum without www, your forum does not recognize you when you visit it with www (or vice versa).

so do you mean your mod can adjust to address without "www" also ?

I mean from each of your web template there are links : [edit] [remove] [visit] and by mouse over the link [visit] the address is, for ex http://www.myforum.com/view.php?pg=aboutus

even though I logged in to http://myforum.com/admincp/index.php

Using or not using www. is not related to this mod or vbulletin. It is a server setting.

If you visit your board as http://www.myforum.com (http://www.myforum.com/view.php?pg=aboutus) and login there, both vb and webtemplates will recognize you when you visit http://www.myforum.com/view.php?pg=aboutus

Hey Logician,

This is one of my favorite hacks and has been the favorite hack in my profile here for a couple of years. One quick question - I run a fixed theme now, and the test templates seem to ignore my forum's fixed width past the header. Everything after is it spanned 100%.

How do I go about fixin' this so that it stays inline with the rest of the forum?

Seems like related to header/footer. Are you sure you use vb header/footer with that webtemplate (rather than webtemplate header footer)?

Yup, definitely using the vb H/F.

This (http://www.metalguitarist.org/forum/view.php?pg=lesson1) is the page in question, but all the test pages do it.

Though the more I look at it, I think it's my custom header that's doing it.

I think you problem stems from your web temapltes not having this code:

<!-- open content container -->

<div align="center">
<div class="page" style="width:980px; text-align:left">
<div style="padding:0px 5px 0px 5px" align="left">

whilst the forum pages do. The code which closes these divs is also missing from your footer template for the webtamplate, but is in your forum.

</div>
</div>
</div>

<!-- / close content container -->

Check which templates your webtemapltesa are using for header/footer.

Hi,

I am really interested in this mod. In the past I have been using Expression Engine to power my site. Is it possible to remove the /forums/ from the url for each page?

Where can I edit the style of $WT_Login and the topics on the test2 page?

If your forum is running on /forums/ webtemplates will also run on /forums/view.php.

If you want to run webtemplates on root, best method to do is to move your forum folder to root as well. If you wouldn't consider this, FAQ item 3 applies for you. ;)

$wt_login's style is inside "WebTemplates_LoginCode" template. Topics in test2 style should be edited in relevant webquery's Result Prefix Code, Query Result Row and Result Affix Code sections.

If you selected, a "theme" for this webtemplate, you don't need to add $header/footer. Just add your content.

If you didn't selected a theme (that is theme setting is set to "no parent webtemplate), then add whole HTML code to your page. Eg.

$stylevar[htmldoctype]
<html dir="$stylevar[textdirection]" lang="$stylevar[languagecode]">
<head>
<title>Page Title</title>
$headinclude
</head>
<body>
$header
$navbar
<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
<tr>
<td valign="top">

YOUR CONTENT

</td>
</tr>
</table>
$footer
</body>
</html>

Anyway don't mind it much. Your page loads fine and according to firefox firebug its syntax is ok.

Re: vBulletin 3.7.3
CMS Mod

FIXED
I tried to follow steps 1 - 3 of the instructions. I can see "Logiscian's Webtemplates" in the Left hand menu of the Admin CP. But, when I expand it to Export/import, I receive the following message:

Not Found
The requested URL /forums/admincp/wt_export.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I must have done something wrong in the initial upload via my ftp. I felt like I followed the instructions but I'm really new to this. Where I got confused was when it said to upload all
files under forum directory. I uploaded the complete file there first.

Then, When it said upload to
Forum Root/admincp - I uploaded the entire admincp file for this hack into my admincp file. That concerned me because they are both labeled the same. Then, I loaded the contents of the file into the Admincp. This seemed redundant and now I'm wondering if I caused any damage to the BB,

Does anyone know what I should do at this point? Did I overwrite my Forum Root AdminCP and Forums Root includes files. How should I proceed ( besides very carefully - ouch )!

FIXED: Deleted files and uploaded again. Initial test came out fine
Thanks,

Logician, may I make a request for a new feature in a future update?

The ability to to put new content in the left column when you use the 2-column template.

In other words, every time I make a new 2-column template, I'd like to be able to edit content in the left column so that it's different for every 2-column template.

If this is possible now, I've not been able to do it. If it's not, please consider this for future releases.

Thank you!

You can merge 2 column template with your included webtemplate and post it as one. And then for each webtemplate you create you can change the column as you like.

Wouldn't this work?

Just edit 2-column template theme, copy its content, change $includedtemplate section with your content and paste it as a new webtemplate (not theme, normal webtemplate) and don't select a theme for it. ;)

2-column template is a theme so in the middle of it there is a variable:

$includedtemplate

This variable is replaced with your child webtemplate content when this theme is run.

Since you make this theme a regular webtemplate now (not a theme), you should delete $includedtemplate variable in it and put there your content (the content which you want inside right column).

Hope it is clear? :)

How can I eliminate that outer table with the duplicate information?

grrrrrrrrrrrr....ok well, this was all too confusing to me, that much is obvious, I'm not a coder!

Soooooooooo... I copied the 2 column theme, made another 2-column theme just for the template that I wanted to make, and edited it. Then made the template and chose that theme for it, and it worked out fine.

I then made a blank 2-column theme for future use. :)

A question on these templates, the following call to $WQ_siteinformationitems, where can these menuitems be modified?

If I've inadvertently referenced the wrong call, I am talking about the "SITE HELP ITEMS" which appear in the templated 2-columnar pages.

When you create a webtemplate whose theme is "siteinfo" pages, the $WQ_siteinformationitems webquery will add its link to all siteinfo pages automatically.

If you don't want a page there, just disable that webtemplate or change its theme, it will disappear automatically.

I can't say much about internal server error as it is related to your server but if you check your error log, you can get a hint about the culprit.

Hi Logician,

It's me, one of your featured sample sites people from above (from this hack).

Anyhow. I updated mine a week ago or so. I was looking at the "What's new" changelog for the new version 3.7.x HERE (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1586684&postcount=4), and I am not seeing those changes. I uploaded the new files, and added the products (over-written).

Things I am not seeing are:

A webquery to demostrate "paginated use of webtemplate&webqueries" are added.

Maybe you can help?

Kihon, I updated my Webtemplates a couple of weeks ago, and all of those new templates are in mine.

Perhaps you missed something in the upgrade?

Hi Ohiosweets,

I first exported all my templates. Then uploaded new (WT) files, imported the product...right?

I just checked everything. I even re-uploaded the new files. I had to edited my /includes/wt_includes.php since I have custom categories as per the manual.

Did you do step 3 in the upgrade process? after upgrading, refresh your acp, then expand the WebTemplates menu, and click on export/import, and import the 2nd xml file named webtemplate_export.xml. That's where all the new templates are :)

Yes, your idea fixed it. Thanks. All but the:

Concerning my post above ^ (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1657365&postcount=228) . Could someone give some guidance as to the best place to make that post for some help? It concerns adding a drop menu to my navbar.

Thanks'

Vanished??? lol wow

Cool - thank you!

Now I've found the CP again - am I right in that there's no option there to force a style for the page?

You're asking in the wrong place. General Navbar editing and customizing should be asked here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=111)

When you click EDIT for any webtemplate, don't you see "List Order" field right above Dates section?

Sorry but as Kihon Kata mentioned, what you want to do is actually not related to this hack.

Yeah, that's there. I didn't know you had to do from inside each template. I thought there was some downarrow somewhere. Thanks

This is the best mod/hack/addon (or whatever we call it) i've seen on vBulletin. Everything depands on what you can imagine. And this mod makes everything much easier for who dont know lot about php or other coding language.

So thank you very much Logician for this great mod. You simply rock....

I also need an idea about something i would like to do.

Through "$WQ_last10threadfromforum2" i would like to list all the threads in a certain category. And i've changed the limit to 500. So it lists all the threads in ASC without a problem. But i would like to learn if it is possible to make this page with a letterbar (same as vbulletin memberlist.php) ? So users could find the threads much easier. Or even listing the threads like : threads starts with letter A or B.... would be great.

Is that possible ? Anyone can give me an idea about how to do that...
Thanks in advance...

Is it possible to remove the first row of the alphabetical table (image2.png) so i can show just the letters seperate as same as on the memberlist.php ? (image4.png)

And is it also possible to add the numeric option which we can then list the threads start with the humbers. I've added "#" but i guess its not working.

Thanks again for this wonderful mod.

1- That part comes because wt uses default theme. If you don't use theme, you can customize it via HTML as you like.

2- Edit webquery like this:
SELECT threadid, title, postusername,postuserid,dateline
FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "thread
WHERE sticky=0 AND visible=1 AND forumid=3 $letterquery
ORDER BY dateline DESC
LIMIT 500

Query PHPInclude Code (Before) : like this:

$myletter1 = substr($myletter, 0, 1);
if ($myletter == '_')
{
$letterquery = "AND (title LIKE '0%' OR title LIKE '1%' OR title LIKE '2%' OR title LIKE '3%' OR title LIKE '4%' OR title LIKE '5%' OR title LIKE '6%' OR title LIKE '7%' OR title LIKE '8%' OR title LIKE '9%') ";
}
else
{
$letterquery = "AND title LIKE '$myletter1%'";
}

and then use
<a href='view.php?pg=alphabeticalthreads&myletter=_'>#</a>
for linking numbered threads.

With "zero" knowledge of php, i did my best to solve the problems. And actually i did solve most of my problems through google them or search for the possible answers through vb.org

But i still have some problems which i can not solve.

Can not find the right variable for the forum title :
When i list the threads of forumid=2, i can sort them through the letterbar. In the current letterbar, there are "Title", "Author" and "Date" sections. I did add another section called "Forum" which will show the forum title of the thread which it belongs to.
<td class="$alternate" WIDTH="25%" VALIGN="TOP" NOWRAP><div class="smallfont">$forum[forumtitle]</div></td>I've also tried $forumid, $forum[title], forumid and maybe +20 different tries which i do not remember now. But none of them worked.

I would like to make a "movie list" for my forum. Due to i have lot of categories such as "Dvd Movie Reviews", "HD-Bluray Movie Reviews", "TV Series Reviews" etc.., i tried to make css navigation menu as shown on below image.

I used "Site Information Pages Template" for this movie list but it did not work due to a reason i do not even remember right now. I feel like my head will blow soon due to those complicated, puzzling, meaningless php codes.

http://www.dwgallery.net/data/503/Image13.png

***Above picture is just an example to give an idea about what i would like to do

Is it possible to pull threads from different forums at same time ?

SELECT threadid, title, postusername,postuserid,dateline
FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "thread
WHERE sticky=0 AND visible=1 AND forumid=103 $letterquery
ORDER BY dateline DESC
LIMIT 500
I did below adding :
forumid=103 or forumid=104 or forumid=105
I've also tried below :
forumid=103 AND forumid=104 AND forumid=105
But none of them worked. So i guess i do something wrong or maybe its not possible to do what i want to do...
