The design is clean, nice logo, forum categories are logically organized. Did you try playing around with the color of the orange elements, perhaps slightly darker or changing the hue more towards gold? Just a thought...

layout is identical to adminfusion.com

i don't know what is your definition of "identical", but as none of the forum in that site have the same kind of topics than the other, and the theme is completely different, the color scheme is way seperate and the icons too, you will have hard time showing to me the result of your comparaisons...

I used to frequent admin fusion, i loved the look, the feel, the staff. It was sold and is now (imo) dead. It is unfortunate.

The other day someone said something about this site adminfuel, when i hit the index i thought to myself, man it looks like AF in a way...

i got nothing against either site, adminfuel just interviewed by bud brandon over at vBsetup, i haven't signed up at adminfuel yet but i probably will....

the things that strike me are....first i heard of adminfuel was just about the time adminfusion died off

AdminFusion did well to sort of "claim" their acronym "AF" (i know thats not official of course)
AF is prominent in the admin fuel header/logo type deal they got there

on the sidebars, the tag cloud, FOTM box, and sponsors all remind me of adminfusion

adminfusion had a forum matrix for quite some time, adminfuel has a similar feature.

nothing here is proprietary, nothing here is "OOO they stole that"

this was simply my impression.

i don't have to prove anything to anyone, im not really here to prove anything, just giving my opinion. I AM kinda piffed that the original owners of adminfusion sold out to a person who (I'll be nice) is having a hard time running the site, but what am i going to do about that? nothing.

I wish both sites the best of luck...

The layout looks clean and navigating around is quick and painless so nice work with that.

The style looks okay but incomplete. The navbits_start'gif should be replaced for custom variations. The forum status icons where made to be placed on a white background but you have them placed on a dark grey background resulting in white matte showing around the curved areas.

I'd also set about replacing the threadmarkers located in the forum display page. Vbulletin stock threadmarkers look hideous on custom styles so custom variations would be a nice visual step to take.

hmmm personally I'm not all that keen on the style so I would base my review to personal preference by the following comments is i think your style (visually) is kind of bland though with a few changes to the style settings could change all that by making a few little colour changes.

Goodluck.

Thanks for the reviews.

@Caddyman, just so you know, AdminFuel is dated back quite a few years, and due to prior work I lost the activity on the site, but since the backend of last year I began working on the site and decided to move it forward.

I understand what you mean by the similarities, but I by no means designed the website with AdminFusion in mind. I am currently on holiday, so the developing of the side (including the sidebar) is halted. I too agree that after the selling off of AdminFusion, it isn't the same.

@Shelley, thanks for the feedback. I will be working on those changes when I get back from holiday, so I hope it will be much more to your liking :)

Nice style, albeit one that reminds me a lot of Admin Fusion, partly thanks to the similar name, banner, side block and features on the site. Looks very professional, with the minor thing that the orange looks a bit too in your face for my liking. No dead forums, which is good, and activity looks okay, albeit a bit low for the member count you have. Like the facilities there, like the Forum Matrix thing, and the articles section in my opinion is actually better designed than Admin Fusion or The Admin Zone (which have one massive section for articles and no real categorisation).

I don't like the idea of hiding the FAQ from non registered members, because it's kinda stopping them knowing much about your forum until they actually register.

In all other aspects, it looks rather nice, and certain maintains the professional look that's expected of an Administrator help forum.

Thanks a lot. I have noted your points for when I return from holiday.

The activity is not great for the number of members, because, as I mentioned, the forum was neglected for a while. But now the activity is picking up a lot.

Thanks about the Article Section. It is custom coded with a few mods in, and I have more plans to design it another step up.

I will also get the FAQ stuff sorted.

Don't know about Admin Fusion; sounds to me like its in the past and done with and thus irrelevant here. But here's a few pointers on this particular project:

- The blue cat head font is too dark and needs to stand out more. You have "Forum Rules" in lime green but the rest of the significant links in dull colors.
- The gray bg (inner tables/alt colors) is too dark and the shade of gray doesn't jive with the beige headers or orange elements. What I would suggest is significantly lightening any gray surface that contains text. Doesn't have to be white, just a lighter gray but a plain gray, not one with red or blue in it.
- Titles are in a different font from the main text and by the look of it, in a different size.
- The menu font as well. The menu should probably have some mouseover effects or something along those lines to draw attention to buttons.

Cheers

You should also try and make the server a bit faster, or do some optimisation, as the last few times I tried to visit, it was very slow. Which wasn't great for me, because some of the content looked interesting.

Sounds great! What exactly is your plan for that?

I will also get the FAQ stuff sorted.

Good, because I don't think the FAQ being blocked is going to help registrations and activity too much.

Thanks for the extra feedback. I will be back in the UK next week, so can start work again.

The articles section will hopefully have larger areas for topic titles, with graphics. There will be other small features added and things which cannot be disclosed at this time :P

And TMXS, thanks for the feedback, I will note it all down.

Personally, it looks like you've left the body open. Maybe I'm missing something, but you have navigational links around the top of the board that looks a little out of place.

I like the colors, I know some people are pretty nit-picky about them but they have been used tastefully in my opinion.

I'm not sure about the vB experiences placement, nor its size, and the image ranks are a little too big. I like the horizontal postbit, however its looking a little funny when people dont have avatars, which also goes back to the vb experience.

Other then that, the whole things looking pretty good, I might sign up and post a bit if I get some spare time. Do you have a style I could use to access the board via my cell/mobile?
I know vBulletin has a nasty habbit of not loading for my phone :(
