I installed this when I was running vB 3.7 and when I upgraded to vB 3.8.1 it still worked, however I'm afraid to make any changes to it because I installed this on a different forum with a fresh install straight to vB 3.8.1 and it did not work.
I will voice the opinions of everyone else.. an update for 3.8x would be much appreciated or at least let us know if you don't even have plans to do this.
Thank you kindly for this mod.

I installed this yesterday and left the initial setting of 400 pixels wide so the yellow box above the pictuer would say to click it to see the full size. This worked great in both the forums and in reviewpost.
Then today I changed the width setting to 640 from 400 and in reviewpost it shows me the original height, width and file weight of the photo - hey cool, nice.
HOWEVER, in the forum it shows %1, %2, and %3 ! Huh???
Any ideas why the figures aren't showing???
BTW I am running 3.8.1 and VBSEO 3.2 Gold if that makes a difference...

I'm not understanding how this is working for others? The only options I can get working are Slimbox and Floatbox. I really wanted to use Lightview instead, but it doesn't work.
Is anyone using Lightview or even Lytebox?
Also, how is Lightview included here if it requirements a fee?

Maybe I am missing something, however, none of the lightbox stuff seems to work. It just enlarges the image in the same window? Am I missing something?
In addition, it also appears to sometimes use the lightbox from this mod to enlarge attachments uploaded into posts...is this correct?
Also, when not using a lightbox for the enlargement, it does not show any information in the yellow box...it just shows click to enlarge?

Well since you have bumped this everyday...and are very very very very very very impatient....
It doesn't really work, how it is supposed to with versions over 3.7.5...which you might have figured out if you have looked back through the thread instead of bumping it every few hours...

Every few hours? Evidently you are unaware of how to do math...
So lets try something...
If I bump the thread at 5pm on the 6th and then bump again on the 7th at 5pm, how many hours is that? I will give you time to figure it out and will give you a hint that it is more than a "few" hours.
While your at it, why don't you take a quick glance a few posts north:

It works as billed as near as I can figure. In order to get the lightbox to show in a different window you have to select ncode mode. As it says in options:
Only Ncode mode works with: enlarge in same window, open in same/new window.

attached images just open in the page without any sort of box.
uploaded box folder and js files
*** 2-3 particular box is working now. but getting another problem. its not working for attached images. theres an option to replace the default lightbox for attachment with box of this mod. but if i enable this option the builtin lightbox of vb doesnt work and box of this mod doesnt work as well.

I think for making this compatible with 3.8.2 preg_replace() instead of str_replace() in TCattd - Lightbox replacement for Attach-Thumbs module of this product must be used.
As of rel="Lightbox" now in 3.8.2 look like rel="Lightbox_$$$$$" Where $$$$ is postid.

I am using it on 3.8.0 and it has been working flawlessly since I installed it.
However, a user came to me last night complaining that his signature line which said something like, "Finally some new posts..." shows up properly in his User Profile, but when he posts, the signature read, "Finally some new signatures..."
After thrashing with some variables last night, and digging through templates, I found nothing. That is, until I deactivated this add-on. After shutting it off, the words stopped being replaced. Completely strange.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening, and what a fix might be? These things shouldn't even be related... :confused:

I need an attachment resizer. My users aren' tech-savy and have lots of images to share, but don't know how to re size them!
I am also looking for a re sizer of uploaded images as attachments to maximum allowed by forum so you don't need to resize it prior to upload.
If you find a solution to this please post it or PM me. This mod I don't think will re size before uploading a picture as attachment.

I use this script purely for ncode, but to allow users to customise the height and width of the images that they want displayed. It works perfectly on 3.8.2 for this, APART from one small bug, inline attached images. Rather than displaying a thumbnail, I get this:
rel="Lightbox"?attachmentid=3328&thumb=1&d=1241928178" class="thumbnail" border="0" alt="Click image for larger version Name: premierecs3.png Views: 16 Size: 45.9 KB ID: 3328" style="margin: 2px" />The html looks like this:
<a href="/forum/attachments/pub/3328d1241928178-hd1080i-video-editing-program-premierecs3dtpng" rel="Lightbox_1191788" id="attachment3328" >rel="Lightbox"?attachmentid=3328&thumb=1&d=1241928178" class="thumbnail" border="0" alt="Click image for larger version
Name: premierecs3.png
Views: 16
Size: 45.9 KB
ID: 3328" style="margin: 2px" /></a>If I could clean that up, I'd be 100% stoked. Will have a look into it myself and see if I can figure out what is going on.
*edit*
voter - I should have read your post first... I see what's going on now. Will have a play.
HTML needs to be:
<a href="/forum/attachments/pub/3328d1241928178-hd1080i-video-editing-program-premierecs3dtpng" rel="Lightbox_1191788" id="attachment3328" ><img src="/forum/attachments/pub/3328d1241928178t-hd1080i-video-editing-program-premierecs3dtpng" class="thumbnail" border="0" alt="HD1080i Video Editing Program-premierecs3dtpng" style="margin: 2px" /></a>For the same block.
*edit 2*
Alright - Sorted. This is what to do on 3.8.2 if you want it to work properly. Note, that I don't want to use the "flash" replacement Lightboxes, and to be honest I highly doubt any of your users would either, all I wanted was someway to stop my theme from being broken, but not at the expensive of people with large monitors only being able to see tiny images. These are the options I use:
Image Resizer Enabled: Yes
Default Resize Mode: Enlarge in same window
Javascript downsize mode: Ncode
--Colours, just what ever---
Highslide: outline Type: drop-shadow
Image size: What ever, I set mine at both 900/900 for default, since most people use at least 1280x1024
Resize external images in sigs: No. I don't allow images in sigs anyhow, so don't know if this is working.
Resize Images in vB's Albums: Yes
Album Size: Same as above
Replace vb's default lightbox for attached files: No
Resize attached images with no thumb?: No
IMGLink tag, resize it?: Yes
IMGLink tag, kill in signatures?: Yes
User Options: Allow only change dimensions
That disables all of the options that "break" this modification in some way and allows your users to set at what size they want their images to be resized. You don't need the attachment resizing because vb3.8 takes care of that it's self.

Undefined function ncode_imageresizer_replace() error or the error IE reports like Unable to browse the web site with undefined function, appearing when one decides to use in "The Image Resizer - Options" for "Javascript downsize mode" the case TCattd mode (Needs a Lightbox selected!) instead of Ncode mode.
In that case just disable via Plugin Manager the plugin "TCattd - Resize external posted images for Blogs" in .
In any case resizing in Blogs you could disable as of it is not working-buggy
I have an Idea it will be great of you add it to the Hack :) .
Can you add watermark function?

Bug/problem for you. If you open threads in a new tab in firefox (not checked other browsers of consequence), using the middle mouse button or "open in new tab", the unseen tab does not resize the images. When you switch to the tab in question you see the image at full size. The only way to have it resize the images is to reload the tab that you're looking at.
I'm using the TCattd mode with highslide - I haven't tried other settings.
For an example, open this link (http://www.frogforum.net/african-bullfrogs/392-african-bullfrog-relocation-south-africa.html) in a new tab but don't give it focus. If you give it focus at all while it's loading you won't see the problem.

I got the problem, that when I set "External Images default maximum Width" AND "Resize Images in vB's Albums" to yes, then all album images are getting resized to the max width settings of the external image options.
Are album images counted as "External Images" or why it takes the max size settings of the external option? It ignores the max size settings for the albums images. :-/
Is there a fix?

Whoa this is a mega thread and a bit intimidating. I am new to all this and ran across this mod. when I first joined, but did not know this was exactly what I needed. I was directed here by member KevinL.
Thanks KevinL!!
I am wondering whether this mod. will function with VB 3.8.3
Sorry if that's a dumb question, but as long as I find the correct mods I need I have ninja friends who will install them. I just cannot be wasting their time so I must do as much groundwork as I can on my end to direct them to the right application.
Thanks in advance.

Works good, just seems like it's not compatible with ajax. I find myself having to refresh a page before the lytebox decides to work, especially after creating a new thread or new post. Using Firefox 3.0.1.
Same problem, in any browser, i have to refresh the page a few time for the images shrink. It doesnt seem to work the first time you load a page.

Thanks so much for the input Scitz. Can you quantify or further explain the issue you are having with attached images?
Attached or images uploaded directly to our site in posts seem to be functioning OK with the size parameters I have set. This is not the case with user albums.
My problem is that we work with many hi-res images that are linked from photobucket, etc. and resizing them is a major PITA for our members. I spend much time uploading my images to photobucket or other software and then to have to further resizer them just so they can be put in a post. It would be less work for users and better for those who wanted to keep the photos if they could have them in their native resolution and a huge clickable thumbnail would show up in the thread.
User Albums has an issue and no matter where I try to set the size parameters I am alsways able to upload larger images then I allow.
Any input again would be most appreciated.

Can't check right now but if I remember correct when I activate this module for attached images when clicking the image it will open it like its a simple link to a image file in full size. Not like a popup like it should. I have to set "Replace vb's default Lightbox for Attached files?" to No so it uses the buildn't in Lightbox.
Is "Resize Images in vB's Albums" set to Yes in your settings?

I figured out how to get this to work with the attached images. There looks to be an update to the postbit_attachmentthumbnail template that was throwing it off.
Go into the following plugin:
TCattd - Lightbox replacement for Attach-Thumbs
replace every instance of:
$tctoputseek = 'rel=\"Lightbox\"';
with:
$tctoputseek = 'rel=\"Lightbox_$post[postid]\"';

Until the developer updates this and finally gets the browser reload bugs removed I would never do your code edit to use this mod for attached images! I have an awesome highslide mod that works flawless on all versions of VB!
This mod needs updated to remove the resizing bugs and needs to be really supported. As it stands its the best mod we have for other images but for attached images this cant touch the highslide mod! This mod's only plus point over the highslide mod is being able to scroll through all attached images in the thread and not just for a single post.

Some member on my forum sometimes are linking images of 2MB and that is sometimes way to large.. It is slowing down loading time of the page..
I'snt this possible to be build-in in this mod?

I have had a problem with this mod since day 1 and it has never gone away.
If I resize images down to 400 pixels wide it merely says along the top of the image that the image has been resized. If I choose say 640 pixels wide then it says it has been resized but instead of saying that the original is say 3000x2000 or something, it says %1 %2 and weighs %3.
I have tried this with multiple browsers and it shows up that way in each one so something is wrong with the code (or the installation although it works fine otherwise).
Does anyone have a fix for this??? You can see what I mean at our site here:

One other quick question, when you give the user the option to select their resolution, etc. where do those options show up for the user? UserCP or someplace else?? I enabled them on our site now (to see if that would make a difference with the above error and it did not) but I don't see where the user gets to choose any of the settings.
Nevermind found it in UserCP Options...

The reason for this is that I am running vBa CMPS (see www.vbadvanced.com) and if I turn off vBa it works fine, but with it on, it doesn't. According to the VBA folks the Javascript being called in this mod is being called too late and it doesn't retrieve any values for the images by the time it is called. They suggested I change when the javascript is called but since they don't know this mod they couldn't be of assistance. I have asked the author of this mod multiple times in PM if he could assist me in fixing this bug with this module and I have yet to receive a response.
Anyone else have any ideas or I may just remove this mod as being unsupported and forget about it, but I'd like to try to fix it first if possible.

While I love how my images are resized, this mod seems to be causing my users (and thus me) some serious frustrations when it comes to thumbnails etc.
I use vbaGallery and a minor pop-up mod, which stores original images, and enables users to put thumbnails in the posts. While it offers various options, we consistently seem to have trouble when clicking thumbnails. Ideally, this mod would just resize the picture so it does not break my forum, and then leave all pop-up handling etc to the vbaGallery.
Is there by chance any way to acocmplish this? In other wors, I'd like to somehow overrule the whole javascript generation of the showing off the original picture, as that is handled by the gallery as it is.
Anyone,?
Thanks :)

I installed this on my vB 3.8.4 PL1 and it works partwise. For a test i put 2 Images into a thread, one hosted with Imageshack, one hosted by another image hosting site. The first one actualy got resized, the 2nd didnt.
Why could that be ?
EDIT:
Ok, i tried it with Lightbox and that problem remained. I switched to Shadowbox and the problem went away.

Asking them to upgrade their work while vBulletin 4.0 is still in Beta, and probably before the production version of vBulletin 4.0 has been released for some time, only annoys people and will probably not make them release their work on vBulletin 4.0 any sooner. A little Question ...
How i can integrate/update the actual floatbox version v3.53.0?
Download the latest version and set your settings and licence key into floatbox.js.
Upload it to your site into the floatbox directory (under clientscripts), overwriting the existing script.
Find the template: tcattd_imageresizer_headinclude_floatbox
In that template find:
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
function setFloatboxOptions() {
fb.resizeDuration = 3;
fb.imageFadeDuration = 5;
fb.overlayFadeDuration = 3;
fb.navType = 'both';
fb.theme = 'auto';
fb.showUpperNav = 'always';
fb.upperOpacity = 50;
fb.resizeOrder = 'width';
fb.preloadAll = 'false';
};
//-->
</script>
And replace it with:
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
fbPageOptions = {
cornerRadius: 20
};
//-->
</script>
Now you can run your config page at:
../forum/clientscript/floatbox/configurator.html
and replace the red bit of code above with the output of the config page to change the settings (don't forget to CTRL F5 to see the new settings).
Worked for me!

I migrated the plugin to vb4 (I am not an expert regarding vb plugins, but I figured out some trick things)
so I am posting it here, but I will delete it if the author of this plugin prefers
I am not sure if its working 100%, I've made some tests and it seems fine to me
I've just installed it on my forum, so I dont have any feedback yet

I have reviewed the XML file in this ZIP and there's nothing malicious in it that I see.
All he did basically was replace the old style <if>'s with <vb:if> and switched out variable names and stuff. In short, updated to the vB4 syntax.
However I've installed it on my forum and it doesn't seem to be working: http://forums.finalgear.com/test-forum/big-image-is-big-42995/
EDIT: The JS file isn't being loaded. Hmm.
EDIT #2: It'd help if I actually used the correct XML file and not the old one. Works fine now! :D

I wish someone would pick this up and work on it more for 3.8 and 4.0.
Currently it will not W3C XHTML validate because it uses an invalid invocation method (onload does not exist on images).
Of course I keep saying this should be a default option in vBulletin anyway, but obviously they do not agree.

I agree. It'd be much appreciated if this could become one of the default features in the future releases of vBulletin.
That said, marked as installed. Excellent work and seems to be working just fine on my board. Thanks.

I don't think the problem has ever been that it doesn't work, but rather that it will not validate W3C XHTML.

Does this save bandwidth?
From the Readme file:
- It does not prevent long loading times. The images have to be downloaded completely by the client before the script can resize them.
Therefore it does not save bandwidth.

I have recently run into a snag with it that I was hoping you might be able to help me with. I am using the lytebox feature on some of my FAQs, but when you close the picture the page jumps to the last YouTube video I have on that page. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

Disregard. I found the problem. It was an issue in the javascript when it unhid embedded objects.
I am using 3.7.3 patch 1 and it doesn't resize in the posts either. Anyone know of something that works as advertised? I need to stop these people from putting in oversized images, from outside sources.

I'm using 3.8.4 right now, but it worked for me on 3.8.3 as well. Sure you got it set up right?
I have had no errors and it keeps the settings that I set just fine. The restrictions that I set seem to only affect the size of the image once you click on it, and it opens in a box. The original inline image will be as large as the original, which is what I was trying to change.
I copied everything into the same file structure on the server, as was represented in the unzipped file. I installed via the product manager like everything else I have done. It is a pretty straight forward install.

It may not actually be dogging down your site. Which resize method are you using? Have you checked all the 'time settings'?

I always had this problem if I use slimbox or one of the fancy options, example if there is an external thumbnail image posted, the slimbox opens the thumbnail image nor redirect the user to the original big image. Is there a way to fix this?
Example: if using slimbox on this image, it won't redirect the user to the original big image, instead it opens the thumbnail small image.
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/01/30.jpg (http://img215.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=36034_PURIMOMO1_123_1155lo.jpg)

You have embedded a thumbnail, so it can only open the source, which is a thumbnail. Where is the larger version? How would the resizer know where it is?
The way this works is, you embed the larger version, then the resizer resizes it down to the size specified. When you click it, it provides the original.
katie hunter
01-16-2011, 08:05 PM
ya but it works if i use the default setting, when clicking on the thumbnail it redirect the user to the original image. But i use one of the fancy settings: lightbox, slimbox, etc.. it doesn't work.
Here also on vb it should redirect the user to the original image, not redirect to the thumbnail image. That is weird.

Fresh install of 3.8.7 and working fine, except if someone tries to insert an attachment into a post. Regular attachments work fine, but if they insert the attachment in the post, the following error shows:
rel="Lightbox"?attachmentid=2&thumb=1&d=1301015518" class="thumbnail" border="0" alt="Click image for larger version Name: Vegetables.jpg Views: 0 Size: 74.2 KB ID: 2" style="margin: 2px" />
Any idea how to fix?

Installed on a 3.7.x version and working fine till now, take as example: http://animalfriends4life.com/forums/showthread.php?p=42
great hack, but!!!
I have old forum and all small thumbs are links to imageshack or similar to see them in full size... change [IMG] over to [imglink] will be pain in ass for millions of images! Why just don't add resize rules to small images (less than min. size) and leave them untouched by hack?
Any ideas how to do it?
Also, for some reason in 3.8.6 Lytebox within "TCattd mode" don't work at all - images just don't post. Had to use "ncode mode" which seems to work OK with all main browsers...

Actually I just figured it out - If you are using the above modified vb4 plugin you can get it working properly in the CMS by adding a plugin to vbcms_article_populate_end (under the tcattd product, if you want)
//check if STYLEID it excluded or not
if (strstr($vbulletin->options['tcattd_imgresizer_excludedstyles'],",")) {
$tcattd_imgresizer_excludedstyles = explode(",",$vbulletin->options['tcattd_imgresizer_excludedstyles']);
} else {
$tcattd_imgresizer_excludedstyles = array($vbulletin->options['tcattd_imgresizer_excludedstyles']);
}
//AND !in_array(STYLEID, $tcattd_imgresizer_excludedstyles)
if($vbulletin->options['ncode_imageresizer_enabled'] == '1' AND !in_array(STYLEID, $tcattd_imgresizer_excludedstyles)) {
$view->pagetext = ncode_imageresizer_replace($view->pagetext);
}

Hi, I've tried this on vb 4.2.1, it works but it has some bugs.
1. What i realized is that if i enable signatures to get resized, it you type the word "posts" it will be changed to "signature" =s i had to disable signature resize so this won't happen
2. I can't change the color of the warning bar, the background color, i tried to change the color and save but it didn't work.
3. None of the other image resizer functions like slimbox , lightview etc. works
Haven't tested the other options but that what i noticed so far. Does anyone know how to fix these two bugs?
