Hi, I hope I have put this in the right place, I couldn't decide lol, sorry if I haven't.
Right basically, I run an "adult" forum and we want to be able to host videos, there are outside video hosts we could use but would prefer to host them ourselves if possible to prevent any bad things being uploaded to sites and other people seeing things that are intended for our forum only.
Does anyone know if there is any mods or anything I can do in the attachment area to make it possible to host the videos ourselves or am I clutching at straws here?
Many thanks.

The only thing available right now is that vBulletin attachment feature. Use it to have users attach the videos, then other users will be able to download them and play them on their computer.
There currently isn't an option to play the video files inline.

Right so I assume then the only file they can use is jpeg then? I will have a look at the file sizes. Just hope it wont be too much of a drain on our server lol.
Many thanks.

A video hosting site like youtube.com requires much more then just a plugin can give you.

Correct, and actually many plugins, php files, templates, phrases, options, permissions and javascript. Its a massive project once you really get into it. Not to mention writting the Flash AS code and player.

To be honest, if we went for an outside hoster I would just go with one that let me embed the code for the video rather than directing the user to another site.
Thanks very much for the link, I'll have a good look at it now.

<font color="darkgreen">The other thing to watch out for on a Shared Host is the php upload limit. Some are set at 2MB and others 5MB. </font>
