3.7 Image Change for Forums

So I'm running the beta version of 3.7, and I want to change the no new posts, new posts and locked forums icons. I have created the icons that I want to use, but how would I change them from forum_old.gif to forum_old.jpg or whatever?

I searched for a step by step on this forum to do it, but I didn't find the answer. I'm not that VB savvy yet. Any help would be much appreciated!

Can't you just save the images as gif's instead?

Then you can directly replace them in the FTP folder

forum > images > "styles if you have any custom" > statusicon

legionofangels' suggestion would be optimal, but if you have to, just Search & Replace the templates though the function in the Admin CP.

Sorry, one quick question. I do have to replace it because I can't get a quality .gif Once I go into the Admin CP then to Styles & Templates, should I go to Search in Templates and then "Find and Replace in Templates (be careful!)"? Then I guess just search for forum_old.gif and replace with forum_old.jpg?

Yes, make sure you backup your style beforehand (by exporting it) incase you do mess up. :)
