Just a quickie, ive read thru this thread but cant find the answer, and the support forum seems offline.

Question.

When using the award system via posts, you get a box appears and it states (amount available xx)

What i want to know is where is the available amount defined and can this be manually set, as in the screen shot shows available 30,010 credits.

Ive searched thru the settings but cant find the setting, any help appreciated.

Just to add this amount goes down and stays at 10 which i need it to be higher or unlimited.

That number is likely from what they call the board's "Central Account". I looked around on vbCredits before they shut down and the answer is that you cannot see or edit this amount. All post awards (and I think other awards for that matter) come from this account. The amount in the account is replenished by the taxes on drawing winnings and any service fees on donations, bank transfers, etc.

If you don't want to use the central account (I don't), then you can do that. Go to the adminCP > vBCredits > Configure Specialty Awards > Spend Post Award System From Central Account and select "No"

Guys, remember that for the time being vBCredits.com says you have to direct support questions to support@vbcredits.com, as long their genuine support questions.

:p sorry for my extended absense everyone. I've been busy with my regular job, preparing for the new baby which is due in about 3 weeks, and the large custom job which I posted about 2 months ago. If you all remember, I said vBCommerce's completion would be part of that job, and that I am under contract to finish it up in 3 months since that announcement. It's been 2 months, and vBCommerce is for the most part done, just needs the generalizing touches (right now it is in the form used for the custom job). Right now I am finishing up that job (there was much more to it than vBCommerce :p) and then will get to releasing vBCommerce.

Thanks everyone for your patience! I'm aware its been a year, I have so much stuff backlogged that I couldnt begin to tell you about it, and Im sure you're sick of PixelFX's spiel about it :p You are welcome to try out any of the similar stuff in the meantime if you are sick of waiting - I will alert everyone about the release when it is ready so you are free to check it over and see if you want to switch back.

We closed the site temporarily as I haven't gotten a chance to go through the messages yet, and everyone was getting too antsy. I will open it after I get through the messages, although you could send serious support requests here or to my numerous contact methods on my profile. It is by no means a sign that we are closing for good, in case you were thinking that. Actually, both PixelFX and I are looking to expand more through it as there is so much promise with just vBCredits.

Thank you Digital Jedi and the couple other of you for getting to the questions I have missed! Thanks, and welcome to those of you who are installing vBCredits for the first time. Despite being RC2, vBCredits 1.4 is for the most part stable - the only reason it is not in the final form is due to the thread/post negation awards being removed for the time being. Other than that is some extremely trivial bugs, so go ahead and try it if you are waiting for the final version.

I'm going to now go through and answer the outstanding posts from the last week or so :p

When I tried to create a bet, It gave me a blank page.

I got another problem. I installed integrated addon with vbookie, but it does not work. Then I created a thread to check, stick on Yes, post a vBookie Event with this thread, then clicked on create thread, nothing appears. It does not move to next page that I can set odd.

I am current with 3.7.0.

Do you guys how to fix this?

Unfortunately, those are problems specific to vBookie, and I cant give support for its use (only for integrating with vBCredits)

i GOT this MARKED AS INSTALLED I LOVE THIS PRODUCT ITS MADE EVERYONE ON MY SITE MORE ACTIVE.. now here is my problem. i was trying to tweak it a lil and i screwed up and gave everyone a ton of credits.. how do i get it baclk to normal credits.. they went from 1000 to 52000 credits
Now its all whacked. it deleted everyones credits and they are pissed..

Use the mass credit updater in the acp under the vBCredits menu. You can use it to recalculate everyone's credits or set everyone back to 0. If you need help filling out the menu please PM me (it should be fairly obvious). If your member's credits fluctuate wildly this might be because you gave full rein of the post award system to your regular members, generally if they have amounts with several dozen places.. otherwise its probably just bad settings, which I can go through for you if you PM me an admin login.

K.. I have one question/problem..

In the Manage Forum Overides.. I want to turn off a forum.. ie. I dont want people earning credit replying to threads in the forum game section.

What do i put in the .. Overide Value.. I dont understand this part..

You can put 0 for the override value to disable the earning of that particular award, in a particular forum, for a particular usergroup :p

I've been using the raffle and lottery for a couple of weeks and then turned it off 'cos members have no where to spend their points.
I turned them back on and purchase options / boxes have disappeared !?

Did you also set the drawing date to something in the future? Does their usergroup have a nonzero ticket limit? Did you exclude your regular group from it in the drawing settings?

Because if you setup a bunch of overrides for a large amount of forums, it slows the forums down to a crawl.

Has anyone had problems with server load when using this addon?
Or rather, when adding many forums to the "Forum override" area?
I set a largeish number of forums to give no credits, to all staff and registered posters and my CPU/Memory usage on the server went sky high
The load time for my forum went from an average 0.5-1 second per page, to 4-7ish seconds per page.

Is this still occuring? I have seen vBCredits installed on some big-boards and never had this kind of thing reported - in fact I developed a unique plugin optimizing thing to greatly reduce even the server slowdowns on sites that have multitudes of hacks installed (seen on a site with 250+ hacks installed). Are you certain vBCredits is the culprit (disabling the hack and seeing if it goes away, and then turning back on to see if it always comes back)? Are only certain actions doing this or is everywhere doing anything seeing an increase?

I've got it working with ibproarcade, but there is one minor issue. For the arcade pass it says that if members have it they still have to pay if they want the jackpot, but I see no option to go ahead and pay instead of using the pass.

Also, milla da killa, how did you get vbookie working with 3.7? I thought it says its not compatible?

When a user has purchased the pass there should be another link to pay full price pretty obviously. If not then you skipped an installation step, probably the one to upload the file that comes with the addon zip (not just the edited files)

You can search for the EXACT phrase "credits" in your phrase manager and change the phrase it finds, or click the link in the vBCredits global settings (the very first option has it) and change it through that way, which goes to the same thing.

I agree 100% with you. Sometimes the eyes are bigger than the stomach and you can't deliver. It happens. If they're working out the kinks and bugs, I'd rather they do that than release it and it destroys forums...

lol, not jelsoft, though one can dream... even if i were to work for them, i would **not** want vbcredits (or any derivative addon) to be included with vbulletin - that stuff is MINE! :p

Aye it was when I last checked.

When I setup all the forums and usergroups I don't want credits counted for and save, the actuall page where you edit forum overrides then takes AGES to load, because there's so many usergroups/forums.

The forum itself slows to a crawl

i got also the Problem with the Bitfield Collision: prefixrequired = credits_cantearn stuff, here some links in the thread but the Site went down oder shut down or whatever, tried to delete and/or upload the new version of the bitfield_credits.xml file.... nothing changes....

so, can somebody write down here in the thread how to fix this ?

Did you have RC1 or RC2 installed on vB3.6 prior to upgrading to vB3.7? If RC1, the instructions are in the zip for RC2. If RC2, then download the zip from this thread. Follow the instructions for installation (dont skip steps or do them out of order!). When you do the template edits some may already have been done, so just skip those as you come across them. Should do the trick :) If not contact me via PM.

is this something like NamePro's cash system?
vBCredits includes all the features and more of the cash system they are using (uCash)

how to show the banking function? i dont know how to do that? just showed the donate function, not loan, not saving?

Make sure that usergroup has nonzero maximum savings and loans in the usergroup settings. Choose carefully the maximum loans or they will get out of hand. Also check the global vBCredits bank settings to make sure you dont have any extreme requirements to access the bank (like a lot of posts, days registered, or reputation)

Do you have donation moderation enabled for that usergroup? If so, you will find the donations in the queue in the Moderate Donations / Awards link in the vBCredits menu in the acp, and you can process them there.

It used to be tied to auto disabled when no post counts - but some people want to earn credits but not post count, and vice versa. Using the override system you could have it any way you want. Does it slow down the forums themselves or just the forum override page (which is in bad need of some grouping/pagination I admit). I have some big changes planned for vBCredits 2.0, but keeping myself from working on it as I have other more important addons to work on first ;)

interest is always applied regardless of the maximum limit. however, once the limit is hit, you cant add more to it manually.

Also really wanting to know if it's possible to add credits settings for social groups.. like cost credits to make a social group then the leader of that group can require a entry fee for others to join the social group, things of that nature.

I still am not seeing any link to choose to pay credits to play a game instead of using one's arcade pass. I double checked to be sure I used the edited files you provided and I double checked to be sure I followed all of the instructions (including uploading the file in the plugin folder). I even tried using a different template. Still no luck.

This isn't something their doing in their spare time just for kicks. Their looking to make their products reliable and safe, considering that money is going to be exchanging hands utilizing a lot of these products. Their reputation for a solid product is more important to them then their reputation for a speedy product. Speedy products seldom deliver anyway.

I'm sure its taking them a long time to deliver on their promises. We're just tired of hearing about how great they are going to be, and how close they are to fruition.

DarkWaltz started a poll on his site asking the public if they are taking too long to release products. I guess he and Pixeldude didn't like the answers, so the site shut down. The poll was 10 months old.

Not a big deal, but I'm more cautious about using any of these products, and certainly suspicious of paying for anything.

Like Waltz said, that has nothing do to with why the site is closed. Not to mention, your last statement is a logical fallacy. The only reason we keep hearing about how close they are to completion, is because people won't stop asking the same question over and over again. I'm also going to take a huge leap of faith here, and presume that having a baby is one the best excuses in the world as to why development would be delayed. Ever had a wife that wondered why you where in front of the computer all day? Ever had a pregnant wife wondering why? Yeah, we're lucky he's even going forward with production at all.

Would like the ability to have people need to spend credits to buy the name changes if possible or something of the sort..

Also, wondering how to integrate this with Name That Tune, currently have it installed but says everyone has $0.00 when you go to Name That Tune even though I put in VBCredits for the "Cash System Used " settings =\

( I know these are already probably explained in detail on the site of yours but obviously can't access it right now so hoping you have an alternate spot where the instructiosn are :D)

And.. one last thing.. I'm importing my forum from SMF soon, building everything first.. on there I have a mod called SMFShop which users have credits already for. It saves them in the database with each user ID having credits .. and in their bank.. Would there be any way to import the numbers to their VBCredits once I import the forum from SMF.. or would I need to manually change everyones credits in VBCredits?
(In the database on the memberlist it has each user ID column & member name column with money column & money in bank column)

Charging for name changes is already planned for vBCustomizer, but I looked at that hack and I think I could put in something quick for you if you PM me about it.

Try putting "credits" (without quotes) as the value for points hack in Name That Tune

While obviously the data is still there, I have no experience using/editing either SMF or Impex :( It is slightly less obvious because vB re-assigns userids..

I can tell you that you would want to convert the points column in SMF to the credits column on the user table in vbulletin.

Perhaps if you asked vB and gave them that exact info, they could tell you what to edit. I would think it is something small, I just have no idea where to edit.

Is there an option of "Admin Donate" Like in the previous version?
I want to give users credits, but i want the transaction to be stored as "Admin Donate" and not to have the given credits taken off from my account.

The admin donate feature has been expanded into the Post Award System in vbcredits 1.4x. Now there is a series of limits you can grant such that anyone could use it - without getting too out of hand. However, if you want the old functionality, set all limits to -1 (unlimited) for your admin group.

Import credits feature.. can import it from maybe a csv file, text file, something? That has 3 columns you need to put in.. user id, credits, saved credits.. then you import them and they just change the data in the mysql columns accordingly?

pretty much like manually changing each persons credits through editing the user but more of a mass updater if you have every users id & such already defined in a list like I do with each amount of credits.. just an idea if possible.. let me know

A user just reffer 40 members but he dont seem get any referrer point..YES those user did add his nickname under referrer .

You are using the vB3.6 version of vBCredits on vB3.7 - upgrade to the vB3.7 version (in this thread).

Dark how do you remove the banking/loans from folks profiles? i read in other posts to put a lot of number in validation days, but that doesn't remove it, that just stops folk from using it.

Also do you have the addon for vbookie mate?

If you are using the latest version (1.4rc2) then it will remove those features. You will have to edit the text of the link (search for it in the phrases) if you want to remove even that - the transaction log is still there for nonbank stuff, so I suggest changing it to say 'Transaction Log'.

Also if you PM me your email address I will send you the vBookie integration addon

No but I didn't decide upon installing vbcredits for those type of things. Ever since vbplaza was found to have exploits, I was waiting and hoping for something similar (a store where members could buy fun things with their site cash). Like username color, change others' usertitles and so on.

I've got another Credit Hack (taken from the wBB and converted to vB in 2006).
In this one, I've got "Account Statements" (see Pictures below).

Is there any AddOn like this ?

What does it mean:
Anything I do, like "create a Thread", "create a Post" .... it will shown in the "Account Statements"

Yes, I have a converter you can use, but I recommend just disabling vbplaza afterwards if you want to preserve your items for later conversion. PM me your email address and I will send you it.

It has statements, but currently not for regular earning entries, only stuff that is directly human-related (like donations, awards, etc). Entries for regular earning was left out due to server strain issues, but will be put in for vbcredits 2.0 (thats the plan anyway)

Maybe a HOOK is usefull after those lines:

Yes, but you also have to insert a row into the transaction table and give it a unique action tag :p theres also a hook in the function that grants awards which you could probably use to put the insert query

I don't know if this is a vbookie issue, a vbul. issue, or a vbCredits issue.
I've read all the pages in this thread, and searched around elsewhere (vb.org) and found nothing so far.

I've installed vBookie, it's running, works, well, using the built in vCash or whatever it is.

I want to move my forum to use vbCredits so I've installed vBCredits, and then installed the patch that integrates vBookie with vbCredits. All is working, at least as far as I can tell. I can bounce through the config screens, mass credit add to user groups, etc. When I place a bet in vBookie, I see that the mass credit add I did works, etc. vBookie is configured to use the "blank" credit / cash system from the vBookie drop down. All works there, blah blah blah.

Here's the issue:
When I look at the users / mods, admins etc. in the threads, I see nowhere where you can see the credits for each user, or how users can access their "checking" or savings account, etc. When I look in (my or other) user profiles, I see nothing there where a user can access their vbCredits account (checking, savings, donate, etc.)

The only thing I could think of was the rebuild the postbit script that I ran after installing vBookie, (per the support thread) but still nothing.

Any ideas?

(edit, running on vb 3.7.1. patch 1, and vBCredits 1.4rc2 (rev1) vb3.7)

Reason being, I don't like using the Forum overrides system, as it's a nightmare to manage when you have as many sub forums and usergroups as I do
I figured it'd be easier to run a query to disable it on ALL forums, then selectively enable it on a per forum basis.

theres some awesome news on vbcommerce at the site if anyone wants to know

this will ONLY work for the vb3.7 version (include your table prefix if applicable):

vbcommerce is a free product. However, premium users will have first access to beta test the product on the 9th... the day it's released. Everyone else will be able to download it for free once it's stable for mass release.

We have on our website a free addon for ibProArcade to intergrate the arcade with vbcredits. Our "cash conversion mod", allows people to buy credits with paypal. We have v3arcade intergration addon for vbcredits as well.

I have a question. RIght now the modification is buggy to the fact that whenever members have credits on hand and another member send credits over, their credits on hand are reduced back to 0 plus the amount they recieved. Do you know if this is an error in the code of the modification itself or is it some kind of setting problems that I might have misconfigured?

Really? I am using 1.4 RC2 on my vb 3.7.3 board and it's having problems with keeping credits when someone transfers them over. I really dont know what is wrong. Probably because it's being overdone 'cause I also have ibproacrade and the thank system as well as both integrations for them to the vbcredits.

I just installed this amazing system on my cars forum! My question is not a tecnical question and so i dont know if i can post it here. It s more a "political" question: My mod are afraid by this system, everyone think that there are many risks that the quality of the discussions will go down, and that there will be many people with the main goal of receiveng credits.

If I installed vbcredits, is to give gifts to people who have reach a certain amount of points, and as i wrote, its also my fear that credits will be used in a bad way. I told my mods that we just have to think about the best way to do that, to limit the possibility to loose the quality of the discussions.

So my message is more intended to know your experience, if there are tricks or rules that permit a good management of this product.

You are always going to run that risk. Same risk if you award privileges based on post count.

With vBCredits, you can set it up so that if a post (or thread) gets deleted, it removes any credits previously earned. You can even set it up so that it not only removes that credits earned, but also impose a penalty. For example, if troublemaker posted spam and earned 20 credits and you delete that and impose a 50% penalty. Then they lose 30 credits by getting it deleted. If that happened regularly, people would learn quick not to post spam.

Another thing you can do is not award so much for simply making post, but rather have larger awards for getting your threads replied to. If a topic is not worth discussing, it won't get replies and that person won't earn credits, but if its a good discussion, then they'll earn a lot.

That said, we have not seen that problem at our board since vBCredits got installed. It has been business as usual as far as the quality of posts go.

This error has nothing to do with vbcredits, despite occuring on a vbcredits page - your mysql server crashed due to too much traffic on your site at the time overall. Ask your host to increase your limits to match your traffic needs.

Upload the latest files and import the product file again and see if it still does this - make sure your ftp client is actually overwriting the files on your server (your current settings/credits wont be lost). Your error should not be occuring, and I havent heard anyone else complain of this happening.

Avatars dont seem to show when any of my members recieve cash although it does tell them which person sent it inside the private message receipt.

It shows my No Avatar image instead. Does anyone know how to fix this I am guessing theres an option I have missed.

All options are set to no for each usergroup too which I dont get lol

From what I can see. If a user posts a large post, and then edits it to a small post. They still keep the credits from the large post.

You mean loans? Set maximum number of loans to 0 in the usergroup settings. You can also set the transaction fees to 0 in the global banking settings.

If you followed the instructions to the letter, you would know that those manual template edits are part of a normal installation..

Hi, I just got one question before I'd like to install this addon.

Is there a system in the hack or an extra addon which people could use there points to promote themselves.

I currently run a site where people get extra content when they are promoted. After a month they get sent back to their original group just like a subscription. So is it possible for the members to use up points to get promoted?

I am looking for a promotion system based on credits. I want to set up different user groups with different permissions. The more points a user gained, the more permissions he should get. This should be handled automatically without user interaction, so this is a little bit different than the feature rowlandc requested. Is this possible? If not, a cron job would help, right?

Promotions system doesnt come included and I am currently focusing on vBCommerce at my site, but you could still suggest your idea there for when I return to this. None of the vb3.7-specific features are integrated with vBCredits either, but it should still work with vb3.8

Currently the last remaining issue that keeps vbcredits from being 1.4 gold is the broken post/thread negation awards. to allow you to at least complete the action without errors, the code was simply disabled. So, if you want to remove credits yourself i suggest allowing your moderators the use of the post award system, such that they can deduct credits as part of their regular maintenance, from right in the threads themselves.

I was just about to report this bug myself. Glad to know it is not just me then lol.

Have you found any hurdles with this action? Last I heard from a different coder is that a file edit is needed to make this work properly. Is that still the case?
This is the one thing that is stopping me installing it live on my site. I would pay to have it working, or at the least donate.

vBCredits doesnt really have anything that guests can see or use... guests cant earn/manage/use credits. all you can do is look at someone else's credit amounts, sorry.

you messed up your file edit. I recommend sticking to exactly the code I put instead of adding your own. Try over with a fresh copy of that file.

I ended up taking this out because for some reason, users were being allowed to award each other credits. Like, normal registered users.

From what I've read CBACK CrackerTracker blocks everything you try to do in your own Admin CP. You'd likely need to ask the CBACK developers why it's blocking installation.

Hi, thanks for this great plugin. I installed it, but I'm not sure what I did wrong since I cannot get the links under vbcredits menu in ACP to work. configure global settings, award settings, specialty settings, banking settings, addon settings not showing anything when clicked. Other links in vbcredits menu are fine.

I have found that some servers (I *think* when using https) the ampersands from the links get dropped, and not just with vbcredits but vbulletin links as well. You could try editing the includes/xml/cpnav_credits.xml and removing all do=options& from them - but this issue should be reported to vbulletin (avoid mentioning vbcredits or they will say that its my issue only :p)

im fairly certain it should work alongside vbexperience
generally this adds only 1 query in places where you have configured to gain credits (such as during posting). displaying credits does not add any queries. my optimized internal plugin system keeps the server load down and i know of several big boards using vbcredits without any slowdowns.

I've spent the last week or so creating a smaller store addon to your vbcredits addition. I'm nearing completion and expect to be done by Christmas morning as a gift to my posters. I added the store functionality directly onto the credits.php file that you include in your root folder and am in the process of adding a new store.php page to the Admin CP. Should I release the changes I did on this forum for users to be able to have a store functionality that is completely based off of your vbCredits system or keep it private since eventually your developing your vbcustomizer?

chances are these fields were not retained when switching to the vbulletin database. if you still have access to the old database switching would be possible, but i would have to create a custom converter for you which connects to both and does it. alternatively, if you have a full dump of your old user table i could make something to parse it and go that way.

Did you disable the whole product or any plugins? Then there is the global, usergroup, and per-forum disabling that everything has.

Then only set an award amount in the usergroup referral setting. You can disable display to private globally or per usergroup, and set your staff groups to able to view private credits.

Sorry, the only way you can count a referral is based on reputation, time, and posts. do some usergroups have a base reputation amount? something could be done with that maybe.

all you need to do is run this query (i might be wrong on the exact column, but you could always ask on the vbexp thread to be sure). use your table prefix if applicable.

if you just want it to be in the postbit, find the code you added there and alter it to include your image. if you want it to everywhere credits are shown, alter the phrase for credits, which is linked in the description of the first global setting for vbcredits in the acp.

Is there a way to change the ammount of credits a user starts off with? Such as; when a user registers and is still in awaiting email confirmation they have "100.50" credits, then when they confirm email and activate they get 200 credits. How do we change this to make it higher or lower?

vBCredits is just the point system (vBCommerce is the shop system but its only available from vbcredits.com). Also on the site you can find an icash converter.

works fine on vb3.8

to add a $ to the display you would have to modify the template edits you applied :-/ to change the word Credits to something else you just edit the phrase though (linked in the first global setting)

ucash mod - each time a member download an attachment will cost X amount of points.

download credit mod allows admin to set a specific amount of credit required to download each attachment.

If vbcredit allows that, then I can start using it.

you can disable the display of the post awards (staff can still see them in the transaction tables or the moderate post awards area). if you really want, you can modify the template edit for postbit so that it only shows to certain groups. let me know.

There are multiple ways to give credits to user outside of the action awards you set:

1) You can edit the amounts directly by editing their user information in the admin cp.
2) You can run the mass credit updater to calculate their amounts based on their overall stats, not just from when you installed
3) You can use the award users by criteria function in the admin cp - first find use the regular user selector system to gather a group of eligible users and perform changes to everyone's amounts simultaneously - from editing directly to adding or multiplying, or forming your own custom equation to put everyone's amounts through.
4) The post award system allows you to give/take credits from users using ajax right on the threads.

I'm pretty sure you can do this. When you recalculate things, you select what types of things you want to recalculate as well as what forums. You also specify if you want to zero everyone's credits or add to them when you do this.

I have tried to install, but the navigation is not working properly. It is missing an '&'. Here's what I get in ACP navigation:

you are suffering from the libxml bug with vbulletin. to bypass, edit the forum/includes/xml/cpnav_credits.xml file and remove all occurances of do=options&

Just a suggestion.. why don't you post it in 3.8 mods section too :D

I mean that would be the first place I would look for mods for my board if I have purchased a new VB or have already upgraded. Plus having it there would assure me that it works for 3.8. No need to ask questions. :)

The install notes and other still need to be upgraded for clean install, few other things, however I'm sure darkwaltz will update this script to the 3.8.x mods area as soon as he's ready! In the mean time ... yeah it works great on 3.8.x

Created a test raffle, added user to it, then deleted the drawing before start date. Credit was not refunded to the user. Is there a setting to refund users?

add option so we can add site bux to members or add certain amount to all users also add a option to delete all bux also add option to check history and logs of donations

all of that is in there.

you can mass add/remove credits to users using several tools (mass credit updater or the award users by criteria)

clicking moderate donations / post awards is a log of all donations which you can also revert if you want

My question is... is there any way to control the Central Account or see how much is accumulated in it? I think it is a great feature being able to collect funds and disperse them, but kind of mysterious. It is just kind of in my nature to see what's going on as I am an accounting student :p

Currently no way to control it (without writing queries)

You can see how much is in it by enabling the post award system with no limits (preferrably on admin!!) and then in global specialty setting, set to spend from central account. when you go to award someone, the amount available will be exactly whats in the central account

you can use the mass credit updater:

base 0, select all groups, select NO awards. run it.

even quicker to run this query if you are comfortable with it:

UPDATE user SET credits = 0

(use your table prefix if applicable)

That is run as part of the product xml import. Unless the instructions say anything to do with it (they dont) then there is nothing to worry about :p

They can coexist. If you arent getting any points from either, then you havent confirgured either correctly (they wont normally conflict unless you set vbplaza to use credits)

unfortunately no (why would i have two different methods that do the same thing?) check your error logs in your site panel (cpanel, plesk, etc) to tell me exactly what the error is when that happens - although i suspect you just have a low memory restriction.

If you tried to integrate vbcredits with the post thanks hack, you probably did not follow directions correctly, and at any rate should be asking for support for that addon in the addon thread where you got it from on my site. thanks!
