vBTube (paid version) is currently no working with YouTube videos (They show, but with an error message on them.) This problem is also at the vbTube site. Hopefully, it will be resolved shortly, as vbTube is a nifty program (when it works with YouTube.)

I'm really keen to try this plugin but I'm finging it quite tedious to say the least!

I followed the readme and installed it, seemingly ok.
Allocated admin permissions to use the mod.
Created a category.
Added a video and url and could watch it ok.

Then I got a white screen next time I tried to use it. I don't think I done anything to cuase it but I may have.

I've tried uninstalling, removing files, deleting tables from the database, using the tablefix.php and vbtube_usergroup.php files but I always seem to end up with a white screen at the end.

Can anyone shed some light on this please?

How bout no, I'm not the coder. I'm a customer who paid for the script. That's part of purchasing something. If you bought vbulletin and didn't like it, do you get your money back?

I can tell you it's excellent and well worth the money. It's just like anything else you are going to buy. You take a chance. All of the information you need is on vbyes.com in regard to what the script does. If you read it and don't like it, don't buy it.

Upload it to your host via ftp then browse to it to run it ex. http://yoursite.com/tablefix.php. Then go back into ftp and delete it from your host.

Hi All
I was going to get the Pro version but unfortunately my budget won't stretch that far - $75 for the unbranded version I would pay but not $129 so I am using the lite version and have done some changes by fixing up all the closing tags and making it fit my forums really well.

In case anyone else wants a similar look here are the screen shots and the updated template files - as I said it fixes all the code that is left hanging and I think makes it work better. However, if anyone else can offer suggestions on improving it further then I would welcome your comments.

vbtubePRO is a rewrite of the extinct (at that time vbtube) which was trashed by vbulletin.org because of several exploits and virus issues.

vbtubePRO took that code and fixed it and renamed it after it was completely abandoned. These two do not compliment eachother because vbtubePRO is actually the successor and fully functional "NON EXPLOIT" script.

Somebody else brought back the old vbtube standard by themselves and fixed the exploit far after the more superb "vbtubePRO" was rewritten and submitted for live use.

In essence they are two completely different mods re-written off the same base model.

The 2 are not compatible because since they are both named "vbtube", they likely have a few of the same files names or templates and phrases. They may also share some of the same table names depending on how unique the developers were trying to be.

In another note, I viewed the pro version and spammed myself, as a guest, through your send to friend feature. That should be limited to members and should record all sent friend requests with the text being stored. This way, the staff can monitor what is being sent and since its member only, we can remove anyone who abuses the system. The current method is certainly flawed.

I Replied also Messages to the Developper of the other Application and Never Received a Solution.

muratmunich has the Solution, I think He/She Should Share it with the Community if the Competition between the Two (2) Mods is Clean and is Fair Play.

I'm sorry but you don't make any valid points. These are two scripts re-written. The base model is still there. It's always going to be there. They aren't written to be compatible. There's no reason to have both installed.

If you want the "re-written" fully functional version of this vBTube 1.2.9 (CSRF protection added) then buy vbtubePRO. He's made his script "vbtubePRO" to work with that script and allow for full functionality to single click and add youtube video right to your vbtubePRO categories. You can vote, rate, make favorites, post reply, edit and delete.

Again, they are two completely different models based on the same code. That code is needed in order to make both work. If somebody wants to re-write it in the future they'll have to start from scratch, which makes no sense at all. Hope it all makes sense now. :)

Well when i edit the Administrator and SMOD usergroup to allow them to see and edit the vbtubepro links it doesnt do it but it just adds another usergroup Administrator or SMOD as soon as i save the usergroup im editing the permissions.

So i dont know whats wrong with it :(

I GO TO - Admincp - > user groups -> i dont see anythin that says permissions?

admincp -> user groups -> Usergroup manager-> (than in the usergroup manager edit the usergroups you got in there like Administrators, moderators, Smoderators, user etc) once you press edit at the end of the permissions you will see the menu VBTUBE PERMISSIONS read them and allow what you want.)

My problem persists that when i do this one instead of editing the usergroup it adds another usergroup with the same title and everything but the vbtube permissions doesnt change, driving me nuts...

Need to provide more info. When you hit add video>Fill in all the criteria. How are you adding your video? Is it the link or embed code? Is it from a site supporedt by vbtubePro?
In the case of a YouTube video, add the YouTube URL, not the embed URL, to the Video Share Link box on the vbtube page. That's what actually embeds the video into your site - adds a link to the YouTube video in this case. HTH !

vBTubePRO is really cool but here are some things it needs:

1. Support for audio

2. A way to turn on/off photo support. (This way if we have phoot post or another photo gallery on our site we can use that with out the photos in vBTubePRO)

3. Instead of having it's own admn area for the Category Menu and other setings why not add the Category Menu or other setings to the vbTubePRO area in the vBulletin Admin Control Panel

Getting some weird issues: 1. the vBTube template was actually showing me the contents from the other vBTube mod...when I tried to uninstall the plugin i get this error:

I just want to add my two cents here, if I may?

I think the way this is being "marketed" is missing the mark! I had skimmed over this mod/topic awhile ago, not realizing it was EXACTLY what I was looking for!

I am sure there are many people like myself, who have purchased video upload/sharing scripts like v-share or clip-share and wanted some sort of bridge or integration so that members of our forums didn't have to create a separate account to upload as well as be able to fully integrate the video system into Vbulletin.

The PRO version of this product does just that! I'm glad I took a second look at this topic, as I didn't realize this product offers the kind of setup I have been searching for. My members can upload and share videos and they are already setup with an "account" as a member of my forum.
I am a longtime member of vbulletin.org and am not here to "spam" for vbtube. I am posting this because I think that this is a nice product and the support from the coder has been outstanding. If you are looking for a video sharing system to integrate with your vbulletin you have found it.

Embed code. Only admins can do this. (the embed code next to youtube and movie site video window)

Users can still use the links to embed their favorite movies like your bbcode mod.

Hi Everyone.

Ive just updated from VBTube LITE to VBTube Pro.

Its all working fine except for one thing.

It seems the HOME for the new URL of the updated VBTUbe has changed.

VBTube Lite installed a VIDEO link in the nav bar and the PRO version did not update it it.

How do i change the Link in the nav bar from what it is now to the new VBTube Home?

That is from:
forum/vbtubepro.php
To
/forum/vbtube.php

I've not used the lite version, but I would venture to guess the controls and ACP are different. Check over all your settings first to make sure in regard to adding photos. As for uploading raw video, check by contacting your host provider. Not all cpanels are the same or offer that kind of info. You might need to talk to them directly. I don't want any media streamed from my site. It's too bandwidth intensive. I only do the embedding.

Typically, the error regarding "you didn't add a video or photo" will display when you attempt to upload a file larger than the php.ini file settings. When you are on the vbtube admin page, what does it say for max filesize and max execution?

open the relative template and add a " <br />" after the instriuction of the category :)

Very weird bug..when I copy the Sharelink and post it in a thread on my forum, and the user clicks it, it opens up Youtube, and not VbTube. But if you manually type it in your browser...it works and goes to VbTube!

Admin CP>Styles and Templates>Style Manager>Click the dropdown next to your style>Edit Templates>Navigation Breadcrumb templates>Double Click on Navbar. Put your link anywhere on your navbar :)

How do you add links to the Nav bar or the main menu drop down. Installing VbTube doesn't add either of them. ie.. there's no default way to get to vbtube.

I couldn't find any blocks to add a top 5 videos, or recently uploaded videos, ect.. is there any integration with vbulletin or vbportal? I couldn't find any.

3rd:
I purchased Photopost pro and it has a featured photos that is listed at the top of the forums, and main page. I would like to do the same thing with vbTube, adding another bar with vids in it

Generally speaking, modifications do not add links to the user navbar automatically. Too many people have custom navbars and custom styles that makes this impractical most of the time.

Are you having problems with Metacafe urls on your site? they don't embed on mine anymore. I think they changed them. In fact they don't work in the forum with passive vid anymore either.
