Are we able to disabvle to Recent Media box? I love the mod but I dont really want something that will do that thing i nthe main index. I just want the forums to look like they aleways are and when you go to the vbtube section it has that stuff.

Hey, I've uploaded everything to my forum root, except for the xml product file (went in 'Includes' folder), ran xml and everything loaded, did the table fix, and then deleted.

When it comes to running the vbtubepro.php file, it comes up with this:

Just installed this and noticed some bugs it seems.

1. Mysterious "1" category now in drop down category list when editing an already approved video. There is no "1" category name in the admin panel.

2. One of my categories called Music shows (2) videos uploaded. However, there is only one uploaded, by me and only one shows up in that category.

Feature request:
- ability to post comments (and have them moderated too)
- rating ability
- report video (or comments)
- favorites
- better category listing (looks cramped now when there are a handful of category options)

There is an edit / delete option under the actual uploaded added media .............yes any member can add media etc aslong as the usergroup is allowed

Upload it to your forums root run it and after then delete it from your server..

1. Yes you can change the drop down list so that only one site is default and "only" site to allow from. (it is a script edit, don't know if it's available in the free version though)
2. You add categories through ACP>vbtube>Add Category
3. With the Pro package there is a browser which allows you to one click add videos from youtube.

Disabling recent media is available in the vbtube ACP as well as the many other customization options.

you need to update your usergroup permissions for each usergroup u use.

edit it and on the bottom you will find all settings. its disabled by default so u need to edit it manually for each usergroup.

All in the pro version. Plus a couple developers using this mod have been adding some other cool little easter eggs to the existing script as s7v7n continues to develop new versions. This is by far and away one the best gems available.

Unfortunately, there isn't an ACP option to check off. If you'd want to make sure specific sites don't get added and there is absolutely no possibility. You'd have to edit out those sites from a couple of the function files. After that, you'd have to do it each time you'd upgrade as well.

This is already part of the script on the "show_tube" page in the bottom right corner of the viewing window. Completely automated.

Porn is porn what's the difference? Pornotube and redtube both have clear video. Megarotic uses a differently coded url definition. Besides, there are ways to make it work. If you purchase the product there is a code section on the vbyes site which current user/owners add their own hacks just like vbulletin.org. Megarotic is one of them:)

This VBtube is really excellent!

Delete the clip altogether and do a new clip, or remove both the video link and the jpg link created. Then replace with the new video link.

I'm not particularly sure if this is part of the new features, however I do know the developer had planned on implementing prior to this upcoming release. Okay guys you got a real live one here..i own a site, got my license..looking to add some add-ons and i dont know squat. Everything is definitely installable by a beginner if you follow step by step instructions. However, if you are just getting acclimated with the forum script. I would hold off, unless you purchase new. The developer will install for you with your purchase.

you can add categories via your admin panel, login to your VB admin panel, and if you have installed the mod successfully there should be a new field on the left column called VbTubePro. Click on that and on the menu tree choose add category.

So:

1. login to VBadmin panel h*ttp://w*ww.yourwebsite.com/admincp/index.php
2.Click on VbTubepro from the left column
3.Click on add category

Scroll down to the bottom right of you vbulletin screen and click "Admin"
Login to Admin Control Panel
Look to the left side of your admin control panel for "vbtube"
Click the little "arrow" button to expand the ACP controls
Click Add Category
Start your very first categoy as "10"
Category type should be "1"

Save it, go back to your vbtube add media window and add a video link to the video and image text box from youtube, (the link in the browser bar----NOT THE EMBED CODE) select your category from the drop down menu, add your subject and your keywords

It all works now, for some reason the categories instructions are as clear as mud. One suggetsion for this mod, perhaps include a detailed set of instructions to save you guys the pain of dealing with noobs like me.

LAST QUESTION on this mod i promise.

Now that it all works, how can i add a link from the header tool bar on the forum main page to the Vbtube.php page, they seem to not be auto-linked or connected to each other.

Ah...to get the categories to display one per line in a vertical row under the Categories box at the home page,you'll just need to add a <br /> before the category name in your Admincp. :D

Installed ok since fixes but you still have problems with uninstalling..

try the attach one ... import ( allow rewrite )
and uninstall it ... worked with me :)

Set on admincp/usergroups permissions for each usergroup. Did you uploaded included/xml cpnav.xml file ? This should show the admincp of vbtubepro on your panel ?

That means you already have the table..

I recommend:
Login to phpmyadmin delete all vbtubepro tables.

vbtube_tubes
vbtube_categories

and on usergroup table of vb field vbtube

then install again.
1. import xml
2. run tablefix.php

Just installed this and noticed some bugs it seems.

1. Mysterious "1" category now in drop down category list when editing an already approved video. There is no "1" category name in the admin panel.

2. One of my categories called Music shows (2) videos uploaded. However, there is only one uploaded, by me and only one shows up in that category.

Feature request:
- ability to post comments (and have them moderated too)
- rating ability
- report video (or comments)
- favorites
- better category listing (looks cramped now when there are a handful of category options)

I have the latest version of this mod installed in my 3.7.1 system and have added several videos to it.

In my ACP, I click on the "Manage Tubes" link and it shows no tubes.

then install again.

Ok, I didn't have the files in the right folder but now I do. I got the add media screen and went through the process of entering the video data and it said the my video was added, it says one video next to the category but it doesn't how up anywhere?

I was about to order the professional version this afternoon. But I won't buy an encoded version. Even vBSEO saw the light and realised encoding code caused more problems than it was worth for its customers and opened it up.

I'd certainly want to be able to customise vBTubePRO if I bought it. :)

When I explained the situation and about how I couldn't afford to invest in a dedicated server, he offered me a refund. He's a very good guy.

Let me start with:

The programmer is a great guy. His customer service is fantastic. This mod is great. If you can support ioncube and zend, and if you don't need to make modifications, this mod is for you. It really is a great mod. If it was still open, I would love this mod more than anything.

However, the main issue is that vbtube worked fine for 3 months since I bought it, and I was promised 3 years of support. Why should I be forced to change hosting companies because they suddenly decided to change their selling strategy? It worked fine until the ioncube encoding. We work hard to adapt our site to the hosting company's server. Why should we be forced to put another 1-2 weeks worth of work changing servers? (We have a lot of customizations and links tied to it.)

Also, I can't use my customizations anymore. The main reason I purchased vbtube pro was because the code was open. I would have never made the purchase if it was Ioncube encoded because then I couldn't make the customizations I needed.

Thanks for the suggestions pcoskat. It's just that changing hosting companies isn't an option for me. I have nothing against the coder, this mod adds a lot to the vbulletin community. He's a good guy.

Go to usergroups and go to Admin for example and scroll to the bottom then set your permissions for vbtube once your done setting everything go back there and you should be able to get in the page.

Thanks, that worked, but now I have another question. What do I put in for video link? I tried adding a youtube video, and it won't show the video, all it does is show the url i put in text. I've tried the url of the video, the swf file path for it, and tried the link when embedding the video, and none of them work.

Also, how do I manage tubes? There's nothing there for the videos I have uploaded.

You add tubes by adding the link (or path) in your browser address bar. Not the embed code. You have to turn on moderate tubes in your ACP. Once tubes are added by you or anybody else, you will have to approve them in the admin ACP. You'll see every tube with it's id waiting for approval to be added.

You didn't create any categories. That message is stating there is no category or id to append the new tube to.

That's not the problem. If he didn't import the xml in the first place he wouldn't even be able to access vbtubePro on his site. He didn't create category's. Without any ID or category to append a tube to, you will get sql errors.

Youtube was turned off here at work, I get a blank page when I click to view a tube on mine. I'm getting the same thing when I click to view the tube on yours. It's not reverting back to the forum.

I used the page to fix the tables right off the bat because I didn't know any better. Is it possible in doing so I screwed it up right off the bat?

I'm finding I can add videos but when I go to edit them first of all the place where you put the link to the video don't come back...you can only edit certain things. I accidentally posted one video under Animal & changed it to Music. When you clicked on Animal there was nothing there & when you went to Music there was 2 videos there...but it still looked like there was 1 under Animal & 1 under Music.

So I tried to delete both videos & start over but now there's still 1 next to Animal & (4294967295) <--- that's next to music.

Any help would be much appreciated. :)

What I did was uninstalled this then tried to go into my database & see if there was dups. There wasn't. So I reinstalled it without touching the "fix the tables" file.

Of course uninstalling it deleted all my categories so I had to re-add them. Then I was trying to make it so guests could see because I figured you might show up. But when I saved the guest group permissions there was a database problem. So I had to use the "fix the tables" file after all. Then I was able to save.

I added some more videos & sure enough I screwed up again. Trying to edit an entry doesn't bring back the link to the video so if it is wrong until this is fixed you'll have to delete & start over. Otherwise all other options come back (category, language & link to image). So I switched it from Animals again to Music again. Same problem as last time.

But this time I went over to "rebuild counters" & the 1 under animals disappeared & reappeared under Music like it was supposed to. Rebuild counters fixed it for me. :) Thanks for adding that.

Other then being able to edit the video link should it be wrong...I think this is working like it's supposed to. Thanks for creating it. :)

Is this the new version 1.0.4 lite? You might want to check his forum. I know Pro is now ion-cubed because of piracy. I also know it needs the domain name in order to function. Perhaps you hadn't changed the domain name in ACP?

This creates a whole other environment outside of your vbforum. It's essentially a youtube type environment where you post a video and your members can comment back and forth the same way, with ratings, views, voting, approval system, bookmarking, favorites etc. It's very nice.

It re-directs to the "tube-Show" page not the add video page after add. The only way you can add media is by clicking add media.

Can you elaborate on your query?

If you select to manage tubes in vbtubePro ACP, no videos will show up unless you approve them in the manage tube queue.

I spent a lot of time getting videos to display in the featuring, midbox, & rightbox, so I wanna share it with everyone to save you the trouble. :rolleyes: FYI, these boxes are used to display special videos like sponsors, featured, announcements, etc.

1. When you first install vbTubePro, its side admin menu does not appear until you refresh the page.

2. The instructions for adding videos to featuring, midbox, & rightbox do not work. The thread's example uses the object tag for embedding, but nothing shows. Solution: strip everything inside the object tag except for the embed tag (don't forget to remove the end object tag). For example, to get a Rihanna video (I luv Rihanna :D) from youTube, youTube provides the embed code on its page:

You need to change that to (noticed I changed the resolution to 250; 270 is the recommended max so the video does not break the sidebar layout):

3. But the above embed code will only show in IE. To get it to show in Firefox & IE, you need to add: wmode="transparent" to the embed tag (ie: after height="250').

4. But now the code from #3 will still break your layout for the rightbox. To fix its layout, you need to surround the code with <tr><td> tags. So the above example with #3 & 4 hacks would be:

<tr><td><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nXmJ-yaQAIw&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="250" height="250" wmode="transparent"></embed></td></tr>

5. And also the code from #3 will still break your layout for the midbox. To fix its layout, you need to surround the code with <table><tr> tags, and each video should be surrounded by a <td> tag. So the above example with #3 & 4 hacks would be:

<table><tr><td><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nXmJ-yaQAIw&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="250" height="250" wmode="transparent"></embed></td></tr></table>

6. For the featuring box, you should surround the embed code with a <div> tag.

7. Note that using the embed tag is only necessary in the featuring, midbox, & rightbox. When creating an entry in vbTube, you can simply use the url address in your browser.

8. If the above codes do not work, you probably forgot to: 1. add trailing tags (ie: </td>, 2. remove the end object tag (</object) from the sample codes, 3. change the width & height to 270 or less, and/or 4. add wmode="transparent".

I know, all this editing sucks! It's poor layout/ template design, but at least it's fixable. Hope these tips help everyone. :rolleyes:

It actually looks and feels almost exactly like youtube. There is a seperate upload form which if you want to add any of the supported tube site videos. All you need is the browser address. No need for the embed code. However, it does also have an embed code option, as well as an upload of raw video, convert and embed hosted on your domain as well.
