so last night I was trying to insert a random banner next to my header image. I ran into issues with the placement of the banner, and scrapped the idea for now. Then I changed my header image, and I thought all went well. My problem is with the forum index page. there is a 3" blank space on the right side of the page. it forces the scroll bar at the bottom, and when you look at that space there isn't anything there. now here where it's weird. I can accept that I messed something up when I was trying to add the ad banner, but it's only on the index. if I open a section it's fine, go to the gallery. it's fine, go into the arcade, its fine. I am using VBadvanced as my front end CMPS product, and the main page is also fine. Any ideas on what I broke?
Thanks,
Larry

When trying to place the banner, which template did you edit?
Thanks, Paul.

I was in default style>header.
here is the text from that template
<!-- logo -->
<a name="top"></a>
<table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">
<tr>
<td align="center"><a href="Http://www.thescmas.com"><img src="$stylevar[titleimage]" border="0" alt="The Southern Colorado Marine Aquarist Society" /></a></td>
</tr>
</table>
<!-- /logo -->
<!-- content table -->
$spacer_open
$_phpinclude_output

Can you please post a link to your site to see the problem?

Cant seem to view your site.
I get this error message. "Sorry. The administrator has banned your IP address. "
If you haven't do any other template modifications and dont have anything else installed in the header template I would try 'reverting' the template.
Thanks, Paul.

It looks to me like your image file is longer than it needs to be causing the forced scroll bar. I would recommend changing the size of the images, and then trying to use the image again. I believe this is what you need to do. I could be wrong. I thought I was wrong once, turns out I was mistaken. :cool:

Yeah that was my original thought the size of the image, but when he said just that one page?
The Forum home relates to the forum index.
Thanks, Paul.

no dice. I made the image really small and it's still an issue.

The first time I looked at your page, I saw what you were talking about. The enlarged banner causing a scroll bar at the bottom. Now, when I look at it again, all of it looks fine. Try clearing your temp files and looking again. Let us know.

well, I have cleared my temp data, and the forum index still has the scroll, and blank area on the right side. all of other pages are fine.

recreating the template and moving my Navbar and header info into the new template fixed the issue. no idea what broke the default template.
