Disable all plugins by adding this to your config.

<?php
define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
?>
If the problem still happens, download vbulletin again but just upload usergroup.php in the admin CP.

Also makesure there is no MGC Chat product still in Plugin & Products -> Manage Products

The file you posted was a nulled copy of vBulletin. As there is no need to run nulled files on your licensed board, i strongly suspect that you try to get support for a unlicensed different site.

i dont know what you are on to, but i HAVE my license and its all about MY board.
What do you mean by "nulled" files ?
I buyed vbulletin license from vbulletin.com, i have my customer number and all support i want to get is to get my board running like it should.
i trust you and if you want me to, i will pm you my detailed vbulletin.com infos so you can prove anything you want.There is no need to offend me like that ...you DONT know me.

Sorry if i offended you (not sure why though).

You posted a nulled copy of a vBulletin file.
You are asking for support with that file.

If you are running a licensed board, then you should be using your licensed files, not a nulled copy. We can not provide support for nulled files.

PS No need to sent me any details, i already do know your details.

vBulletin.org staff and vBulletin.com staff simply can not condone piracy and have to protect the IP of Jelsoft. If you run pirated files but have a license we require you to change your pirated files (nulled copy) with your legally licensed files. We can't provide any support for them.

Simply get the latest stable version of vBulletin, currently 3.6.8 PL2 and replace the files you run. At which point you're liable for support again.

If you steal a Ferrari, and then buy one, but drive the stolen one. .. It doesn't magically turn it into a non-stolen one.

good to know you know my details ;)
if you do, you should KNOW that my license and product are LEGAL and valid.
you still didnt reply to what this "nulled" files are...and how did i get them if i download the 3.6.8 patch 2 VBulletin version DIRECTLY from vbulletin.com ???

LOL..."i stoled a ferrari, buyed another one and drive my stoled one" ? comon...

like i explained a few times already...i OWN A LEGAL VB LICENSE I BUYED !!!
and why should i ask 4 support for "pirated" license, EVEN if i would have a "pirated" version AND a legal one ?

Nulled files are ones which are edited (i.e. nulled) to allow people to use the software(/files) for free. vBulletin files, amongst other things, always have the license number displayed at the top of the PHP file. According to post #5 the License number is not there, as such it indicates that the file you added as an attachment was not downloaded from vBulletin.com and as such is not a legal vBulletin PHP File. (Basically your License may be legal but the file is not)

Maybe you uploaded the wrong file from the wrong folder or something, however what they are trying to say is that you need to ensure that you upload a fresh copy of vBulletin 3.6.8, from the vBulletin.com members area, to your server.

There is not much use in discussing this any further in public, but i will tell you (some of) what i know:
- You asked for assistence with a vBulletin file named ./admincp/usergroup.php. You also included this file (which by itself is already a breach of our rules, but that is a different matter). The file you included had the following in the header:
|| # vBulletin 3.6.8 - Licence Number DGT-SERIAL
This is not the signature of a licensed vBulletin file downloaded from the members' area. This is the header of a file nulled by a group named DGT. I don't know from where you have downloaded that file, but it is for sure not from the Members' Area.
- I have no clue on which site you are planning to use the usergroup.php file you had attached. It could be on the site you have a license for, or it could be on an unlicensed site.
- Using nulled files is illegal.
- You do have a valid license for 1 site, but are using on this licensed site files from another license (and owner). Currently this other owner is having problems with our piracy department because the files from his license are used on many unlicensed (and your licensed) board by an unknown (??) person. This owner is currently risking the license being revoked.

- WOW - :erm:

Thank you for clearing this up now and you are right, i think.

i will explain it to you, if you dont mind.
i started my site with a partner who told me he "OWN" a vbulletin license...i was used to be an administrator on another site that was hosted on an free forum and got deleted in cause of violating their TOS...however...i wanted to have my own site and i met this guy and i bought the host and he "owned Vbulletin" so we started our board. I didnt know anything about how VB works so he made all the settings and installes. He didnt gave me his pass for VB or told me how i can profe it. i wasnt even here on the board in cause of that.i was a guest and told my partner in what modifications i am interested him and when he got time he did them. After some argues we broke now since almost 2 months and i buyed my own vbulletin to be independent and the "boss" ;)
But i didnt know which files i can "overwrite" and whicj i shouldnt to not mess my board up in any way.Maybe you can give me a list what files are important for the system and which files for the board ? So i could work save...you know...its a live board.
i upgraded then to 3.6.8. patch 2 but i dont think the admin cp/usergroup.php was updated in any way, too...however...

I will dl now a fresh 3.6.8. - 2 and copy this file.

thank you and Opserty for clearing things up 4 me !

Cheers !!!

I strongly suggest you overwrite ALL files with a fresh copy downloaded from the members' area.

i uploaded the fresh usergroup.php and still dont work :(
if i overwrite ALL files what happens to my forum ?
- will i lose my modification installed ?
- will i lose my forums,settings, members ?
- if i do a backup and upload all new files from vb.com and restore my backup then, may that work ?

Overwriting vBulletin files will not harm modifications unless they have had modifications in them (which I highly doubt).

hmm...i think if i overwrite ALL files out of the UPLOAD folder of the fresh VB i will also overwrite the config.php and thats NOT good to my mind. And where are the important board informations stored ? in what file ? i want to overwrite now folder by folder contains and prove if it works, but i am afraid to delete needed informations inside the files i overwrite.

sorry my bad english...i am german.:)

There is no config.php in the ZIP file from the members area. There's only a template called config.php.new which needs to be renamed only if you are doing a brand new installation. You won't overwrite your current config.php uploading all files.
