I am starting up a general forums site, but am Not sure what to add to it.. I was thinking a graphics section but it needs more. I don't want it targeted on one particular thing I want it to have multiple things ranging from general chat, to graphics etc.

I just need help with what to actually add to it to make it unique and appealing to the users.

Suggestions?

The most successful forums are the ones that focus on 1 subject of interest only.
If you chose your subject as being unique and well thought, your forum will become a giant, soon.

Example of a bad choice: Gaming Forums
There are one zillion forums out there, no way you will succeed, unless you spend heavy money in advertising, free forum props, member registration benefits, monthly contests with free prizes, etc.
Then ya, you will have a chance to grow in this tough domain where big fighters like large console manufacturers rule.

teck makes a good point i ahve a general forums site and it does not do real well right now we have graphics area photography area tech support just a general chat and an area for off topic stuff and a few others but not having one set thing seems to not draw people in So you may want to consider a general discussion an off topic and then 1 more that is dedicated to one thing

I would agree with teck yet just because theres are a million and one gaming sites out there, you can still compete in the market, IF you have something that the other do not.
