It seems that videos get screwed up sometimes when changing themes... but pictures and mp3's don't.

alright i have a small problem. I installed vbadvanced and for some reason in the news module whenever you click to watch the video I get a "you need to upgrade your flash player" it seems to be working perfectly on the forums though. Ive upgraded to goldbrick 1.5 and still have the problem.

I had photopost, i removed that and another old mod with highslide last night. I completely uninstalled glodbrick and reinstalled it. you can click on the thumbnails now, but they open up full screen in a window without highslide. ( i turned post cache temporarily off until this gets fixed).

Hi Nix, I am new to VB and I am trying to install VB AnyMedia Player / Media Sites 1.5 on VB 3.6.

I am trying to follow the instructions to upload the content of the upload folders but according to the instructions: . "Upload the contents of the "upload" does not provide any break down of which content need to be uploaded in which folder or directory so I am not sure in which folder I should upload the contents of i.e "includes, plugin, style and the contents of Media player"

There is no file path to follow in the instructions for all the files or directions, can some one help me in finding the path for uploading the file via ftp for each folder content on the server.

I am new to VB and need some help please:) Any one can help please:)

If I used vBadvanced modules to show entire posts, it screws up those posts in the actual forums and on the vBadvanced page, until the post is edited. But it reverts to being screwed up the next time the home page is visited on the computer.

I have removed the module that shows posts with goldbrick tags from my homepage, and now I haven't seen any issues when people change styles at all.

have you went to "forum permissions" and enabled goldbrick there? and have you set your goldbrick settings in the "vbulletin options" ?

to clarify, you now have an actual "goldbrick" and "players" folder in your forum root?

i actually meant "forum manager" its located under the "forums and moderators" tab. once there hit the edit button next to the correspending forum. at the very bottom of all the settings will be "Enable Goldbrick in this forum".

Right now in my ftp folder the chmod is set to 755, do I need to enhance that or else??

Do you have PHP 5? If you're getting a blank screen, check to see if your server has error reporting displayed.

Show me a link and I'll look real quick. Hard to say without seeing it.

All the "you need to upgrade your flash player" error mean is that 99% of the time the paths to your .js files are incorrect. I should change that message.

Again, however, others are able to play the video, even on FF. But only on MY IE browser is not working. Are you sure because of its path?

probably not then. Did you try firefox? Sounds like IE is blocking Javascript for you.

FF is working fine. IE was working fine at first. Then, after I upgraded to vb 3.7 b4, I got the error since then. Even now, I reinstalled 3.6.8, I still got that error. I did even try to upgrade my IE but nothing could be fixed.... this made me so mad... any hints?

I checked with my hosting company, they told me to add PHP5 to my .htaccess.
Did that.
Im using 3.6.8, Firefox, and have disabled AME. (thinking it may have issues with your extension)
Disabling it didnt work, so i uninstalled it via Managed Products.
Still didnt work.

ok the only file that will play on my test post is the flv files all others extension will not play at all.

mp3 play good in Firefox browser but in IE it won't play it ask to download.

the divx also will not open is shows the missing image tag and when i right click to properties it only show the url but not the file name.

I've installed gms in my board but I'm having troubles with the bbcode.
My former hack used the bbcode [video] and I can't get gms to work with that tag.
The only way I get it to work is with the tag [media]. I even changed the configuration in vbulletin options "BBCode Tag Name" to "video" and nothing changed.

Is there anything I can do to use [video] as a bbcode instead of [media]? otherwise all the posts until now would have the [video] tag and would stop working :S

I have installed and I am using PHP 5.2.5 and this mod is working fine, the only issue is when I add multiple images in the post it does not displays the images as it is shown on the display Examples of Highslide JS core on this link http://vikjavev.no/highslide/

Thats a highlside setting. I don't have it set up like that. But I probably will in the future. You can still use the arrow keys to navigate between pictures and videos though.

I installed this product but for some reason it doesnt seem to be working properly. Perhaps I missed some of the configuration options. I followed thei nstruction on the documention manual. However when I try and create a new post with a link to a youtube video for instance I get a little thumbnail of the video with the following text underneath it (see attachment):

When I try do the same for a flash clip it shows the thumbnail of a big "M" with a play button in it, with the same text about needing to update the flash player. Although My browser has the lates flash player installed and I am using IE 7 not Firefox. I have attache a picture so you can see what the post looks like.

Hey Nix! Thanks for the awesome (and much needed) upgrade to Crist's AMP! :) I've got just one major issue - and that's a big page of errors when I try to post a Porkolt video link. I'm assuming that this is probably caused by the 0kb porkolt.php file in the Sites folder? I downloaded and extracted several times, but it's the same each time!

That will only work if your site is hosted on a server configured to use phpSuExec, but not all of them are... You could always ask HG support to move you to a PHP5 box - they've done that in the past for a couple of my clients.

I posted something with a .gif attachment but it seems GB is not be used here, where it should be using the highslide feature.

I did enable yes on both Auto-detect the Attachment Type and Use Goldbrick Media system when uploading an attachment, then reposted a new post with the .gif file, same issue. Its not using highslide.

I get the video window after uploading an .avi or .wmv, but it just goes from connecting to buffering and sits at 0% when you try and play the video....any ideas?

Just FYI everyone. No coder/developer is going to support php4 anymore. It has been dropped and no more updates except critical anymore straight from php them self. This has been dropped for a long time. So everything new or in past 2 years should have been php5+ we are now in php6 world. People still in php4 need to upgrade pronto.

Great hack and working like a charm. No issues with the small edits I made either to make pictures next to each other.

I have noticed that the goldbrickplay.gif doesnt always appear for the videos where grabbing a thumbnail/title may be hard to retrieve like it should.

Any idea as to why?

Damn. I did everything according to the manual, but I get a blank (white) page when i try to use the [media] tag. I had to disable the mod so I can get most of my threads back to normal. I was using an older version of AnyMedia previously, and it was working perfectly. I tried to upgrade to the new Goldbrick version, but I guess I'm f@#$#$ now.

I even deleted all previous files. It still shows a blank page.
Any ideas guys?

Do you have php5? If you're getting a blank white page check to see if your host has PHP's error reporting being displayed.

Can be any videos or sites. You can add your own if its not supported.

hey im having a small probably simple problem just wondering if any1 can help me.

when i post a video such as a video from youtube, it auto emdeds it but it makes a small picture of what the video is but you have to click the video for it to play but what this does is opens it in a flash player and takes the person away from my site if you understand what im saying i have posted a screenshot below.

all is ok with some vids but for some reason the game trailers one wont work. I have not really tested other ones due to the fact we only mainly deal with a certain few sites really

I installed this wonderful mod but the player comes up, I click play and then nothing happens. It appears it is not loading the video.

I left it there for several minutes but nothing. I know the video works because I watch it on wordpress with a plugin that uses the same player you use.

I checked the file names and path and everything is fine.

The window comes up, I have to click play twice and then I see only a black screen and it does not load. It is a flash video, hosted on my server.

I fixed the problem, I was missing http:// from the URL and it would not load (although it would recognize it as a media file).

Ok, this looks like an awesome product, but I can't get it (version 1.5) to work completely as advertised. I am running vbulletin 3.6.8, have php 5 on my server. I can get links to Flash sites like YouTube to put up a thumbnail and play the video. However, GB does not parse video attachments uploaded to my server (just get a link to download the file as with other attachments). I have added typical media filetypes to the Attachments allowed. So, I'm wondering what I haven't done that I should?

Highslide scripts not loading, looks like the Highslide paths are messed up or something(not sure)

The MOVIE MEDIA option works though, its the image viewer attachments and inline that fails to load. The inline option displays boxes with the words |Highslide JS| in them and the link statusbar displays the following

Ive found a quite bad bug (or lack of feature) in this hack. If you use the option Rebuild Post Cache in admincp all mediatags will stop working.
Ill try and see if I can figure out how to make a temporary fix myself but it would be really great if this would work out of the box . :)

Edit: I fixed this for now by doing a TRUNCATE TABLE postparsed and then letting vB rebuild the posts the first time someone views them. Not a good fix as its takes a bit longer to load threads the first time someone views them but at least it works.

Should also mention this fixes any problems that come with the tags being broken after installing. Although a probably bad idea for any busy forums.

I've seen this question asked several times, but I have not seen it answered yet.

I just installed Goldbrick 1.5 into vbulletin 3.6.4 and I'm also running vbadvanced. The previous version of anymedia I had installed was working fine for a long time, then it suddenly stopped working... the media tags were no longer recognized. I have no idea what may have caused this.

Rather than try to troubleshoot the older version, I deleted the files and uninstalled the product. I uploaded the goldbrick files and imported the product. All options and forum permissions are properly set.

The old media tags were now picked up, but I did have to edit and save the posts for that to be so.

Trouble is, it just doesn't work. I've attached a screenshot of a youtube video in a thread. The preview image is displayed but the image and all the text near it, just links to the youtube url for that video. I also see a "You need to upgrade your flash player message", and that's the question I've seen asked, but not answered. To the best of my knowledge, I have the lastest players installed on my computer.

Any ideas? I am at my wit's end trying to figure this out. My server is runningf PHP 5.2.5 and MySQL 5.0.51a

I don't undersatnd why. I use the default vbulletin skin.... the colors are different, but it's still just the default skin.

Why did you install this add-on if you didn't have PHP5? It says in the description that it requires PHP5.

This problem does not have anything to do with this addon, but I thought I'd post it here in case someone has seen this before. This problem only happens on one of my laptops (Dell Inspiron 9400/Windows XP/ IE 7.0.5730.13).

It only happens with IE and not Firefox and only on this computer. It works ok in IE on 2 other laptops.

In the attached screenshot, you can see that only the right half of the screen is dimmed. I've disabled the Mcafee stuff that was preventing the highslide js from working properly, so I don't think Mcafee is the problem. I'm sure it's because of some setting on this computer, maybe video related, but I have no idea what it may be.

Has anybody ever seen this before?

I have a style on my forum, forum/titanium/
I upload the files to the server to forum/goldbrick, forum/includes & forum/players
From the admin section I installed the XML under manage products and it is showing as installed. Under Vbulletin option i can also see GoldbrickMedia options

But that is it? blar.mp3 is all my posts say. I can see no sign that it is actually installed.

Could this be due to my style?

I try editing the message with the tag AND SAVE. Only that. Edit and save. The code/Tag MEDIA work again.

I've had this mod installed for a long time and working fine. But I would like to replace it with a more updated one.

On the Plugins Manager it is reported as:

For anymedia I've been using the bbcode [media]. I would like a replacement product to maintain this legacy, so that old embeded videos posted in the forums keep their functionality.

How do you change the size of the flash player? I change the size in the admin options but nothing happens.

Has this stopped giving out titles for Youtube videos? Its not pulling them for me anymore.

What does that mean? It does it in IE, firefox, and google chrome.
Also, like the above user, changing dimensions in ACP does absoloutly nothing.

Once the video is added to a post the dimensions cant be changed... but is there a fix for the submissions no longer grabbing video titles like on Youtube? I just gives the default text it wont put the title of the video in there anymore.

I see that support has stopped for this mod. I have few problems myself with this mod.

Can someone please help. The mod doesn't seem to be working.

Please give more instructions on how to install it
