Also my forum members just reported and I verfified that it is not working the Preview as well. It is nice mod and I don't want to downgrade it back to prior version so I hope that bugs can be removed.

I would say its stable. Its not going to mess up your forums. But a few sites need tweaking. The no preview and quick reply I've tried to tell people so they don't freak out. I'll look for away to get it in there.

Hey.

I have followed all installation instructions very carefully, have ensured that the 'Enable video sites globally' is set to yes and all individual video settings are set as I want them. I am getting an 'Unsupported file type' error when pasting and tagging YouTube and Google videos. These are the only two I have tried. Have I goofed up somewhere? :confused:

- does weird thing, plays, then freezes/crashes FireFox.
- IE7: doesn't play, close the player (close button only appears on mouseover), then crashes page if try to play again.

AGain, videos work for flashsite permalinks as long as you don't try to edit the post. and don't seem to work and crashes browsers for uploaded wmv files.

using the [ noparse ] bbcode with the [ media ] tag causes a db error.

that's not the code you are supposed to use. you are supposed to use the PERMANENT LINK URL.

Ok, I realize when posting its best to hard refresh the page before trying to click the link ( most of the time).

Anyway, streaming windows audio (wax format) shows the player, but it assumes it a video so it shows it as video player instead of the mini audio player. Can you fix this please?

You shouldn't have to hard refresh the page unless you use quick reply. But I'm going to fix that for the next release.

The mini player only works for mp3. Flash players can't play windows media.

Cause I'm a bone head and forgot to add real media back in :(

what i mean here bro nix is if i post or include all kinds of url's link...even if its not came from video sites...just a normal... like http://www.vbulletin.org or image url link
when i press the preview post button... the media tags overtake it...it will become...

and also if i post image now, it all becomes thumbnail size...or sometimes...they are inside the media player...:p
i guess i don't like this idea or the styles, or is there any possible solution for all of this not to happen...sorry for that bro...just my 2 cents...

You can change it in the anymedia.css.

I have downloaded and installed the mod, and have read every post but still cannot get it to work properly. Can you help please?

First, when I provide a link I get double tags.
Example;

I have to edit my post and remove the excess tags, and after that, I get unsupported media.

I have set all file types as No in vBOptions and still the same problem.

I assume I am doing something wrong, but cannot figure out what.

I just tried it on your forum and it seems to be working fine. All I did was post a youtube link and hit reply. I didn't sue the M button. Thats only needed if you want to use custom options.

its either a setting you have or a hack. I've tried both the standard editor and the wsyg one and they both work. Switch to the standard one and see if any extra text is being added.

I changed from Enhanced WYSIWYG to Standard and it now works.

Isn't that a bit odd? Could it be a conflict?

I just upgraded to vBulletin 3.6.8, would that make a difference?

Hmm. Yeah, I'm kinda torn on it too. There was something to be said about the simplicity of the simple embedded video window in AnyMedia 3.0.x.

But I like the bug fixes and new compatibility (like QT and movie trailers) in 3.1b.

I can see how folks would like the new way, but also some other folks preferring the original.

It might be nice to make this display (window vs. highslidable thumbnail) a configurable option (either via global admin setting, or per user in the UserCP.)

Ideally I think I'd like it to be a UserCP setting... with an Admin setting for what the "default" should be. Seems that would please everybody. :)

If i remembered correctly, just edit the inclides/class_anymedia.php
and search for :

$vbulletin->db->query_write("UPDATE " . TABLE_PREFIX . "post SET anymedia_yes=1 WHERE postid=$post[postid]");

replace it with :

$vbulletin->db->query_write("UPDATE " . TABLE_PREFIX . "post SET anymedia_yes=1 WHERE postid='" . $post[postid] ."'");

Fixed FLV extensions (well they work on my test site :))

Something is wrong. Just upgraded to 3.1.0.2 and now I get this error when attempting to view any thread that has embedded videos

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: krumo() in /home/user/public_html/includes/class_postbit.php(426) : eval()'d code on line 23

I upgraded by uploading/overwriting all files and uninstalling old plugin, uploading new.

Please help! Have recently installed this mod on a new board we are building, I was assured by the installer that this mod as well as remotly attaching media files also attaches files direct from your local PC I can't for the life of me see any posts on here refering to that, the site needs members to be able upload local mp3 & wmv wma files from their machine, please tell me I am wrong about this & that the mod dose do this & if not wich one dose.

Yes it does. You have to add the extension type to your attachment manager in vbulletin. Then set the options up for anymedia to convert attachments. It just uses vbulletin's attachments. Make sure you move the attachments from the database to files.

I would be greatful if you would go and have a look, i have added the relevent attachment types in in vb manager etc .wma .wmv .flv etc but it just dosnt do anything, i presume once attached you then just click the blue M but how on earth do you insert it? or do you highlight it in the attachment window then c & p it into the reply window between the media tags- im lost here. http://www.areyouanartist.com/forum

Sorry to be a pain, but i cant find specific text: 'Then set the options up for anymedia to convert attachments' - or do you mean 'AnyMedia BBCode Enabledand or 'Supported extensions' as most settings are set to 'yes. What do you mean 'Make sure you move the attachments from the database to files' I have got another established vb board but never come across this befor, was recently sent this, if you can sus it out 'I believe there is a 2Mb limit set. If you have access to the php.ini file then you can edit it' its driving me nuts.

Auto-detect the Attachment Type - Set this to yes.

Use AnyMedia BBCode when upload an attachment - Set this to yes.

Then look on the left hand side of your admincp. You'll see attachments. Look for

Attachment Storage Type. Create a folder in your forum directory and put the path in there. Select move from database to file system.

Make sure you do the template edit.

Then you just make a normal post and attach the media like you normaly do with other attachments. You don't need to do anything with the M button.

Right we are moving- i think? have had the server extend my php file size upload as it was capped at 2mb to 50mb wich i can now extend my self, I have no idea where to do the template edit, where might this be? and what do i need to change? and what shall I call the file path, I cant believe the person that installed this for me- want a job dooing- do it yer self lol, your help greatly appreciated.

Is there a way to preserve the 3.0.x behavior that requires the [media] tags to be used? My users don't like the autoparsing, and want links to stay as links. Only when they use the [media] tags do they want AnyMedia to kick in. Is that possible to do, by default?

Nix have had disaster with trying to alter the settings from database to file, keep getting error messages saying that the server dosnt have permission to write their, even thou i have altered the chmod to 777 & tried to turn safe_mode on. I recently tried to attach a file via data base opption and it just uploaded it as a link to down load not as a playable link as it dose do when you use the media, big blue M button with remote stuff, what am i dooing wrong? I did this btw with safe_mode off as it will not turn on.

Right I managed to turn safe_mode on a simple fix by just creating a ini file and turning it on, wich resulted in the same error message of my server has not got the permissions, having since found out my server dose not support 777 chmod! What other way round this is their? do I have to have my attachments in a sub public_html file or can I not just use the database to store my files, mps flv wna local files?

Because some sites make it a pain in the arse to get the thumbnail of the video.

The text is just the title of the video. Its the same link as the image. It doesn't take you off your site unless you have js disabled. It should pop up with the video. If you dont want that feature, uncheck use new style in options.

Is the auto parsing of media working on someone's site running vbseo?
I am just getting the URl replaced by the title(i have the vbseo title fetch option on)
Tried plugin order change to make anymedia as the priority plugin. It hasn't helped.

You don't have to you can just use the default media tag. You also don't need to use it. You can just paste the link and hit reply. I think that's what you're asking about.

tried adding the autostart flashvar manually in the templates. not working. did you do something special on the mp3 player portion? Doesnt look like any of the flashvars are being read other than the music url.

WMV files just do not play. Get invalid module type errors when trying to play WMVs.

Other than that, super job.

Can't get it to work. I download the latest version, imported the product uploaded all the files and the image doesn't appear on the Reply box and the media tags do not work. I don't understand what I did wrong. Can you maybe make a text file detailing the install. I think I upload the files in the wrong spot but I'm not sure.

There is a text file in the post up top. Just upload the files so they match your forum directory. Import the product. Goto usergroups and it will rebuild permissions. If you want to use attachments do the template edits. If not just post a link and hit reply.

I've just installed. The mod seems to be running great. I've done numerous test posts, many videos from YouTube, one from Metacafe, a few from Gametrailers and the mod seems to handle them all quite well. Only complaint is that sometimes the media opens directly, not using the flash player. Other than that, great mod and I can't wait for the final product.

to the template and it shows up in the html -> source on the page. Just acts like the player is not getting the var.

My next step is to hack the player flash source to always auto play and I dislike flash so I'll be extremely grateful. :)

Finally .flv is working on my site! Thanks Nix!

I would love for local videos to appear like supported site videos with the video thumbnail versus the Anymedia icon, and the video title versus "click here to watch video." I am sure you are working on this for a future release, so in the meantime, can you suggest a way I can make it work? Like maybe adding an html file with the video embedded and specific code for Anymedia, then using that as the link versus the actual file link. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

The problem with that is that it would change it for all users. But if people want this I can.
Why not just add it in user options and let the user select their Anymedia style preference? I think allowing admin to decide upon install or allowing users to select their style preference is a good idea. Even though I prefer Highslide, I can see why others might prefer the original.

The reason why it can't really be a user setting is that it goest in the posted phrased and isn't converted again. So it would it would what ever the style is for the person who posted.

Not sure about the thumb for the local files. They don't have thumb nails by default. You would have to create one.

Not sure about the thumb for the local files. They don't have thumb nails by default. You would have to create one.
That is fine. I wouldn't mind because we will only have a limited amount of local videos anyways and they would be content posts, not video sharing. So if you could give me some html so Anymedia will grab the title and thumbnail it would be great. Either way I will take a look at it. Thanks!

SUGGESTION: make the player title (ie: Anymedia Player v3.02 or whatever we name it) appear in the actual title bar area of the player. Also same for video title -- not just next to the thumbnail.)

QUESTION: can one turn it OFF for inline but ON for attachment use? (ie: if I want to use anymedia for when someone uploads a file...but not for linking in youtube etc).

1. ah I get it cool. so I can turn off individual sites and it'll still work for the others.
awesome!! (the point is some sites I think I want AME to pick up. Though I want most with AnyMedia and for attachments.)

* ok tried disabling individual ones -- didn't work. AnyMedia still picks em up.
* AND then tried disable globally (Enable Video Sites Globally) and still AnyMedia still picks em up. ie. disabling doesn't seem to actually do anything. At least its working...but now toooo well. lol)

Supported extensions for Image File
This setting allows you to enable and disable various extensions for Image.

I have this set to YES. Doesn't this mean "regular" image attachments will use AnyMedia Player? (eg: upload an image and anymedia player detects and kicks in? like with mp3 files?)

If so, it doesn't seem to do anything. attached images behave as normal (just open in regular new window).

I don't know why but I'm getting this error suddenly

Break video works fine. If you think you found a link that doesn't work let me know. Youporn doesn't work. They have theirs locked down pretty good.

If you know how to edit plugins look for the plugin under anymedia called

global_setup_complete

Change it to this.

All I did was change "Enable Video Sites Globally" to no, I noticed you put it on yes. If I turn it back to yes, it works. Of course, this is not suitable for my Christian site to allow all options global.

Its not a bug. If that setting is set to no it turns all sites off regardless of what their individual setting is set to. You have to put that to yes and turn the ones you don't want off.

yes, the top one tho isn't vbadvanced, the one that's not parsed, that's a GARS module. the one further down that has a thumbnail, that one is the same post but via vba.

Yep all permissions setup. other links work. Latest Anymedia installed yesterday but keep getting unsupported file type 2.
