My boards run fine and then randomly put out errors and won't load. Any help? I know it's saying "can't connect", but why would it only do this every once in a while and not all the time? Would this be a server problem or a code problem? Error reporting gives me the following error....

Database error in vBulletin :

mysql_connect() [<a href='function.mysql-connect'>function.mysql-connect</a>]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

I just got this other error too....

Server shutdown in progress

You're server is shutting down. I would suggest contacting your host as to why it would be shutting down.

LMAO!!! My thoughts exactly. I just can't see how this is always the answer to this particular problem. I can almost gaurantee that my host is going to say "well... we see nothing wrong... server is fine... so there is nothing else we can do... blah blah blah... it's your software you installed... blah blah blah" and then I am going to be back on here tomorrow saying "WTF??" Haha!

No offense "da420". ;)

No offense taken.

It's in plain writing what's going on.
If my host told me that I would tell them I am finding a new host and do so.

If that is the expected answer from your host, can you please tell me who they are? So, I can make sure to avoid them. I had a very similar problem with one of my hosts, I asked them what the problem was. That attitude that you say your host is giving is what I was experiencing. I pretty much told them to go 'F' themselves after about a few dozen attempts to resolve the issue. I did my research and switched hosts, no software changes. Haven't had that problem with this one. They either tell me straight up what's up, what to look for, and/or tell me how to fix it... or they fix it themselves.
