I am having problems with the version 2.0.

I had the previous version installed, decided to upgrade. I am on 3.6.6, I tried using the alternate product, but it doesn't work. Nothing happens with the image, just loads like a normal attachment.

you can't believe how long I sat at my computer yesterday to get your code worked. It was really a PITA. I have tried really all and it won't worked. I've checked your Product Codes, Template Codes... Nothing. After I checked all posts of the forum from Torstein H?nsi . I found no info. Gee I got almost a nerveous breakdown. I thought always your code has something to do with the Image Resizer. So I disabled all installed Products: Nothing! Then I decided to read all pages inside this thread and finally I found the answer in the post from 'bjhuang'. And this one works excellent. Don't ask me why, but it works. But I forgot to tell you, that I installed it at first on my Lokal Test Forum.

Any idea why the old code works? Currently I'm on 3.65. Gee it was a really horror trip yesterday. It never happend to me :) -Mike

It wont be the image resizer, as I have that too and they play nicely. It could be another piece of code or template adjustment you've made (or another mod has made) away from standard that means the auto-installed version isn't making the template edits.

Without seeing the "broken" install though I can't really say, and I'm not going to ask you to go through all that suffering again! You got it working in the end, and that's the main thing!

Hmmm, on closer inspection, it doesn't fully work on my board.

Attached images work fine, but if I try to edit the plugins so that the thumbnail zooms out centrally then I get the following error when trying to view such a post/thread;

Nope. I believe the part that is missing is the part that was hardcoded in, in the class_bbcode.php or whatever it was called.

Only vB ImageHosting. I have my attachments stored in a file system, rather than the database, if that makes any difference.

EDIT: Moved them to database and it's still not working.

Also, the paths to the controlbar2.gif and zoomin.cur in the highslide.css were wrong. If I read your directions correctly it says to put highslide.css, highslide.js AND the graphics subfolder in the highslide folder, meaning the correct path would be "url(graphics/controlbar2.gif)" and not "url(/highslide/graphics/controlbar2.gif)"

Sorry m² but I think I screwed up.

I have the newest version of vB installed and the newest version of highslide (yes I was happy to pay for it)

Well I followed the directions in the text file and at the start of this thread.

When I modify the Highslide Main Function and the Highslide Attachment Thumbnail scripts my thread page does not load at all. No error, just no page is parsed.

When I change it back the page generates and loads fine. Just the Image pop up does not work. it just says loading but nothing does.

Sorry dude I messed up your good work.

Any clue where to send me to find what I did wrong?

Forgot to say, this is running on my dev server so it's a windows 2003 with myphp 5+ installed and the most current php is installed too. I find no other errors because of the windows but that may be the answer.

I assume because the eyeglass image loads that the highslide scripts are being called ok.

The page attachment.php does not load at all and no errors are generated either by the script or on the server.

I just have not coded in php in to many years. Been doing .NET and c# for way to long now I think I forgot most other languages.

Great hack, but I have got two problems:

1. Has anyone been able to figure out what exactly causes the problem of attachments showing up twice?

2. I have installed this hack on both of my Vb forums and I can't get inline attachments to work in either one of them.

it wont parse anything at all. while [attach] is running as a charm!
I have also added - on bb manager - the bb button (image) and set {Use}options = YES on the bb section where the code was already well placed automatically by the hack itself.

I'm having a problem with this hack. I'm using 3.5.6 and IE I uploaded the Pre 3.6.7 version and followed the installation to the T.

I uploaded the latest version of Highslide and yes even payed for it.

It works but it pixalized my thumbnails. Opens to a clear image but when it collapses I have a cubed mess. Any ideals what I did wrong or how to fix it.?

I uninstalled it and I still have 1500 pixalized thumbs. :confused:

OK I was able to fix the pixalization I don't think it was actually this script that caused it in the first place.

I do still have a small problem with this hack.

When I load it I get the "loading" Image but it doesn't open the image into the light box.

Looking at the code from the Photopost add-on: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=139202 I found a way to use BBCodes to show the thumbnail. I just need to figure out how to modify the existing [ img ] tags.

Here are my settings for the BBCode. Note: This is very rudamentary. Customize to your liking. I'll keep searching to see how I can modify the existing [ img ] tag with this.

In AdminCP>Custom BB Codes> BBCode Manager, scroll to bottom and click Add New.

Title: (whatever you want)
Tag: (whatever you want - to test, I'm using 'image')
Replacement: <a href="{param}" class="highslide" onclick="return hs.expand(this,{slideshowGroup:'$post[postid]'})" target="_blank"><img src="{param}" width="100"></a>

I am having the same problem. It worked when I first installed it about 6 hours ago, but now when you click on an attachment, it just stays loading and never enlarges. Do we have a fix for this?

We have it working fine with showing pictures, but it is not using Highslide to zoom them.

How can I change the size (height and width) of the pic that gets displayed after clicking on the thumbnail? I'd like to get a slightly larger pic BEFORE the "expand" button appears in the bottom corner of the resultant pic, after it's zoomed up to full size.

I looked through the highslide documentation and found their example of how to do it in example-slideshow-controlbar.html. Need a little help here. I've installed and the script seems to work with the exception that I get no control bar what so ever.

The Expand graphic shows up on images, but no control bar. The fact the Expand shows up makes me think it's finding the graphics directory. Any ideas as to what I should look at?

Ok, it looks like the original issue could have been the escaped single quotes in the Highslide Headinclude & Initialization plugin.

When I changed it, it's like I uninstalled the highslide product. Viewing source on a page that once had highslide references, showed no evidence of the javascript or css. Images went back to normal VB behavior (new window for me).

After trying to uninstall and re-install... Now my VBA CMPS index is blank and the pages still have no highslide references. It's like it doesn't exist. If I disable highslide, the CMPS index comes back to normal.

Any suggestions?

When I changed it, it's like I uninstalled the highslide product. Viewing source on a page that once had highslide references, showed no evidence of the javascript or css. Images went back to normal VB behavior (new window for me).

After trying to uninstall and re-install... Now my VBA CMPS index is blank and the pages still have no highslide references. It's like it doesn't exist. If I disable highslide, the CMPS index comes back to normal.

Any suggestions?

All fixed now, made the single quotes double quotes and it's working great now.

Just as a side note to those that might want to try this. I have successfully used Elenna's suggestion to get highslide to work with the img tag. Here is the suggestion.

Today I've withdrawn support for this modification as I've just not been able to devote the time to it I'd like to. Apologies for that.

As it happens I've uninstalled this due to several IE users on my site complaining of problems with highslide (which I was unable to replicate and bug fix).

I'm instead using my own lightbox modification, which I may release later on (it's based on this code actually).

Mini2, as a suggestion, if you do release your other mod, email all those on this mod.

I did all the file edits and have a question. 1. What does inline attachment mean? How do you make an inline attachment? I have photos linked by their url that show in a post. Is that what is meant by inline? None of those photos that I link to seem to get thumb nailed and have the highslide effect. All my attached images work great with the bbcode for comments.

I guess inline attachments don't work or I am missing settings somewhere?

What I've done is created another BBCode for images that people don't want to "zoom".

The replacement text is:
<img src="{param}" border=0>


You can make a third BBCode and use this replacement, taken from the Borgs' BB Code Pack (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=103257)thread:
<a href="{param}"><img width="100%" src="{param}" border="0"></a>

That will link to the larger image, while displaying a smaller version that doesn't break your layout.

From what I can tell, this is interfering with the vbgooglemember map. I think the code used to overlay images on the google map is being messed up by this.

Is there a way to tell it not to try and use this code on certain pages? I'm hoping that that might help with the GoogleMemberMap issue.

Any one got error when using the caption? On mine, without using the caption, it's fine. But when I have captions on, and when I click on the image first time, I got page error and gave me internet error. Then I clicked on back button and click on the image again, then it's fine... anyone got something like I get this?

Slight problem.

I have had this installed for several months and it was working perfectly. In fact, my members LOVE this mod - it has to be one of the most bragged on items of my site. Last week I updated the site to VB 3.6.8. After that, I removed the previous version of this add-on and installed the new version.

During the uninstall I went step by step using the previous version install instructions. But I might have missed something.

When you click "preview post" the thumbnails are invisible. The thumbnails can be inserted inline, and they become visible. The remaining thumbnails at the bottom of the page are still invisible. When previewing the post, the "attached thumbnails" box at the bottom of the thread, where the thumbnails should be is very thin, as if there is nothing in it.


VBSEO is not installed on my site, however the VB site map generator is installed.

Google members map is not installed.

I've not upgrade to the latest vBulletin yet, but as far as all my testing showed it worked on http://www.MINI2.com/forum/ perfectly with no bugs other than with Highslide itself (the main reason I now use a lightbox version of this mod).
After your post, there were 3 newer versions of HighSlide published. By now, HighSlide is at version 3.2.10. Did you try the newest version? I'm still using your Add-on with the "ancient" HighSlide v3.1.10 and it works very well with vB 3.6.8. With vB 3.6.7, we already had the problem with the invisible Attachments when previewing a post (and that bug is still there), but that's not so bad, I think, because the attachments appear when you save the post.

I'll try the newest HighSlide-version today, to see if solves the "invisible-attachments-in-preview"-bug.

Couldn't install this thing.

Directions aren't exactly crystal clear....waste of time.

Anyhow, it worked fine for me for 24 hours using the newest version of HS and vB 3.6.8 p1. I came back to it and now it stalls at preview. Anybody else having this issue. I know somebody mentioned it around post pages 15-23 but no resolution came up.

20 bucks is a bit steep for 24 hours of usage. :)

Weird. It works fine now. The effect is not working on my work Mac after 24 hours, it still works on other PCs. Not sure why it woudl work for a while on the Mac then stop, but it's not the scripts fault.

I was able to solve the problem by modifying the plugin "Highslide Headinclude & Initialization" as follows:

remove the first "\" in the highslide path. In a nutshell, originally I had

and I modded it as:


<script type=\"text/javascript\" src=\"highslide/highslide.js\"></script>


Hope this helps if anyone else runs into similar problems.

I have installed lightbox and Highslide before on Joomla sites but never had this issue.

Some days it works a treat, other days it just sits there and says loading.
I disabled it for now and use Thickbox. :(
