I believe they have a converter for that, which is usually very simple to use :)

No vBulletin will not it however they will "walk" you through the process of doing it yourself. After you got access to the members are at vbulletin.com you can download impex (vBulletin's converter) and there you go.

http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/main/impex_introduction

here's a link to the impex manual.Offcource ones you are licenced you are entitled to product support (unmodified vBulletin only)

The choice wheter ti hire somebody todo the convert is still yours offcource

I've used IMPEX once. It's pretty simple to do a conversion

IMPEX is fool proof considering you follow the simple tutorial. However if you have modifications on your forum, eg an attachments system on phpBB, some features may not work in vBulletin. So in this case the attachments wont work. :)

Attachements for phpBB2 have been supported for years, it was the first system for ImpEx that had the attachments added.

Then why didn't it work for me?

As Jerry replied: Attachments are supported for phpBB2, and you posted you tried it on phpBB1.8.
