Well I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled and I still do not see anything while posting to add a video of any kind. No "M" or film strip or anything I have read in the thread. What is the trick here and I know I am tired but what am I missing? ACK! :confused:

It doesn't look like it's coming to be honest, which is a shame. Jan did an amazing job of his YouTube/Google video hack - I would install that except it requires seperate BB codes for each - so all my existing videos would die. Shame really...

im currently using the one created by this same author...the SEO Google/Youtube one and it works perfect for me, and i love it. Really a shame that it doesn't have a feature for custom video URLs (not just Youtube/Google) because it would run so perfect for me if it did.

anyways I use vbadvanced and this mod doesnt seem to work with vbadvanced...really ++++s with the login and messes shit up

I can't get any player to work at this point, google and youtube are the one's i have tried, and have messed with the setting in my admincp, anymedia......

I noticed to on your test site that the video play box has the windows film icon in the bar.......when i upload a video to my site, i am not getting that.....

On the editor on my site i have the "M" from the original and that film icon. The "M" is clickable and the film icon isn't......does that make any difference?

locate Editor Templates and open it, then open editor_templates_toolbars_on

listen guys, I am using 3.0.4 cris's anymedia on vb 3.6.4 and everything works just perfect Except the flash player. The problem is, most of the time it shows a white player (flash player only) and that happens Mostly with youtube clips.

SO the flash player is the only problem it seems. does anyone have a IDEA how to resolve this? if the flash works again, I would be more than happy with my current version....

Do you honestly think that when a software product is released into the open market, there are NO BUGS whatsoever? For example, why on earth do you think there is a Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Windows XP? <-- and you have to pay for the XP product! And, vBulletin isn't without its own bugs (wasn't there an update recently for a cross site scripting threat, or something?) :eek:

I've read this thread from Start to finish, and I've only seen a few posts that seriously support and appreciate the work this bloke is doing.

And, as far as a 2 year old friend goes... slimey comments on this really don't do the posters any good. Not everyone has brand spanking new shiney and lovely friends as the slimey commenting posters do; some of our friends are copmlete arses. Huh, I bet with friends as good as the commenters, they'll be akin to leaving slimey comments too! ;)

Also, with regards the seemingly lack of response from Jan, don't forget that for some reason his eMail notifications from this MOD have been disabled. So, if Jan doesn't reply the very moment after you've added your post, then hard crap! You'll just have to stick with being stressed; or perhaps just not being so stressed and 'on the edge' to begin with might help you a bit.

I know the answer to these questions...

Can anyone remember how many times Jan has stated that HE WILL PAY for a programmer to solve this MOD's problems?
How many users in this forum have also tried helping out on this MOD?

If you cannot answer these two questions correctly, then you should take some of your precious time to go back to the start of the thread and read to the very end. Oh, that's right... you can't can you? You won't be able to spend time reading the WHOLE thread, if you really haven't got the time to do some MODding yourself.

Really, there's only been one comment made about where this MOD should have been posted: that this is a 1st beta stage, and it should be in a thread somewhere where Beta testing goes on.

All problems with the functionality of this MOD are a product of it's Beta testing. A LOT of users don't seem to grasp this fact! :eek: Testing means to test, and usually implies that there will be problems, and so reporting these problems helps the testing.

NOT FORGETTING that this MOD is provided to you FOR FREE, and that someone else is PAYING THEIR CA$H FOR YOU TO HAVE IT FOR FREE is one of the other major considerations you should have at the front of your mind before leaving snotty comments.

I think I may have finished ranting now... (but, I may be back with more.)

As for the MOD itself: I'm not installing it. No, that's right, I'm not. It just seems too buggy at present, and - this is the important part for me - considering Jan's eMail notifications from this thread have aparently stopped, I cannot see Jan (or, paid programmers) being able to do any serious 2-way communications with the reports of bugs and technical issues in this thread.

But, many thanks for your time and effort on this project Jan.

You really are a STAR! (as are all other Modders - where would we be without MODs on our forums, eh?!)

People are free to speak up their opinion as long as they don’t insult anyone! In every forum when something new is getting created there are always some people like this frog: StepOnFrog, who start sucking at the creators when people speek up their mind.

Jan has done a lot and we are all thanking him for it, but it doesn’t take away that we want this to happen as soon as possible.

When u start sucking you will become useless for any new mod to my opinion, so be usefull or stop sucking and btw, who did ask you something??

I was looking at this product in comparison with some other methods of using media on my forum, but I'm still not sure of it working well for the time being.

I've spotted a few forums that are using this product already, and one in particular has a problem with the signatures form... I was editing my signature, and went to post, but the error that came back said I couldn't use the [Media] tags (or whatever they were) - basically the M button. The only tags that I'd used was the Italic & Bold [I] . So, anyway, I let the Admins know about the problem, and I've come to post this problem here, just in case this bug isn't known about.

This project has been dead for quite some time, and it has been a long time since a support question has been answered. I suggest either learning the skills needed to fix your issues with this hack on your forum, hiring someone to do so, or uninstall, seeing as your rants are falling on deaf ears. No, you misunderstood. It's not that no one cares, it's that not everyone comes into this thread to answer questions about this or other hacks, especially considering the project is currently dead in the water. There are many here to help and answer your questions.

If you want a good answer, I suggest opening a thread in the General/vBulletin discussion forums. This will probably give you an answer faster, and better than can be given here.

K, i figured out how to get the little icon to work correctly in my forums: I know it's crude, but it does work.

Go to your admincp, Styles & Templates, then style manager and open your style......

locate Editor Templates and open it, then open editor_templates_toolbars_on

now go to Show thread Templates and open it, locate Showthread_quickreply aand open it.

I added the code that quote I added and it showed up. Seeing that code is in my template and the code from the install is in there, I should have two buttons... however I only have the one [which showed up after I put the code in by hotwheels].

Well, I also put that code in the postbit_quickedit also to get the Media Icon to show there too!

I think it has something to do with <if condition="$show['anymedia_bbcode']">. Cause when I removed that the button attempted to show [but the gif was wrong]. Once I changed the media.gif from the install/edit to the real icon's name [vbmediaplayer.gif] it showed. However, "MEDIA" was not placed into the brackets.

So, the whole thing with the Media Icon is bugged, heck the gif is not even the proper name. ;)

I click on "select All" to allow linking to all video sites in the list, I hit save, then I go back to it, and only some of them are checked....I can do this over and over and the same thing happens.

If I "switch state" and save, all is good...but then it shows that the You Tube videos won't be allowed?

I haven't tried other types, but I can tell you I've been using just YouTube...Google never worked, but I dunno if that is a Google-side issue or what...I think it may be so. It's supposed to work with Meta-cafe or whatever, but it doesn't. Haven't tried any other types of videos, but I tried mp3's and that works, too.

EDIT: Just discovered it works with swf's.

This mod is not working at all for me. I get a blank collapsed player when using the media tags and when uploading attachments it is not automatically adding the media tags...

that is b/c the title has a " ' " in it. that is a sql restricted character and more than likely same w/ PHP. it signals end of statement. in c# a " / " would have to be put in front of the " ' " to prvent that from happening. not sure how to do it in PHP but the title is ur problem.

wherever it reads and spits it back out on the page, the php would have to be modified to replace anything with " ' " in it with another safe character or w/ a break in front of it.

I just use BBCodes for the sites people post the most videos from..... YouTube, Google, Liveleak, Daily Motion, etc... also use BBCodes for Win/Flash/Quick Time/Real Media...

I believe you need to rebuild your bit fields. Search back a few pages. I ran into the same problem and that was the solution.

I find (not using this mod as yet) but in general, you have to change the country designation to www.

so in your case, uk.youtube.com.... whatever to
www.youtube.com...whatever.

hi anyone knows what i am doing wrong? i uploaded the files as instructed in the root directoy of my forums, installed the .xml file from the import folder in my add-on menu, set Plug-In/Hook System 1, edited all templates as instructed, but i cant find any options for the hack in my admincp :o .
