Upgrading MySql?

I never really had a reason to upgrade MySql until now, (to upgrade VBulletin)

I have a Linux 2.6.5-1.358smp server, with a Plesk 8.0.1 control panel. My processor is AuthenticAMD, AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+. Currently, my MySql version is 3.23.58.

Can someone give me a link, and (dummed down) instructions on how to upgrade MySql?

Do you share the server with other users or is it an housing?
I have no idea on how to do with plesk but we can try if you have root rights by terminal commands.

We have dedicated servers using plesk and we update using YUM and the ART rpms.
