What you can do with this hack is add multiple fields when someone creates a new thread. You can specify what fields can go in which forums.

To add, edit, or delete a custom field go into your ACP
Forums & Moderators --> Threads Field Manager

This is a great idea, I would use this for forum areas I have set up for classifieds, however, I am using 3.6 :(

This looks good - what would be the chances of having the custom fields at the top of the post rather than the bottom?

Thanks

You can place them anywhere you want with a template edit.

Not currently, I'll add it to the list of things I need to code into it.

Err... You forgot to put parse html after the post, right ? :paranoid:

All the <br /> show unparsed...

No biggie, just fyi.

Oh, to make the Custom Field mandatory to all posts in that thread:
in the thread just copy the contents of Custom Thread Forms [newthread_form_start] plugin to a new plugin and save it under the newreply_form_start hook, do the same for the Custom Thread Forms [newthread_post_start] (now save it to newreply_post_start) and duplicate the template changes you did for newthread into the newreply template.

Can this be enabled (per forum)

I would love to see some html formating options for the fields. This could be used to submit specific preformated event listings and in the process I would like to resize via CSS images for the final result.

Yes, you set it up per forum.

It sounds like you want real forms, not just a field. Did you check the Forms Hack (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=93970)?
