Just installed this on vb 3.5.5 and it went rather smooth.

Some requests though:
Why not support metric data? In Sweden and neighbour countries we use km/h (KMH), instead of MPH. Nice if one could select between MPH and KMH, and have entered data converted.
And why not support additional fields, like ET and speed on "standing kilometer", 0-60MPH and such.

Another request: Some users want to enter 1/8 Mile ET only, and skip the 1/4 Mile time.
But when doing so, the time will not come up in the list.

I guess it makes averaging more difficult to handle also?

Can it be so that if 0.000 is entered in the vehicle profile, then the list will show the value as -.--- or something, and not use that value for the site average?

Is the value 0.000 excempt from the "must upload slip" requirement on lower ETs?

has anyone tried a clean install of this into vB 3.6? We do not currently have it installed but would like it.


I upgraded to 3.6, and now I get database errors when I try to go to timeslips.php

I tried to uninstall the product, and re-install the xml, but I get a similar error.

After upgrading to 3.6 from 3.5.3, I've found that I can go to the timeslips page, but when you click on "Details" or a person's username, you get the error seen above.

Also, when you go to edit your info, there's no titles over the info boxes that you have to type in, so you have no idea what you should enter where.... not sure if you can actually submit new info. I haven't bothered trying just yet.

All of that stuff is currently editable with the current version, but it would be a nice feature to have a conversion in the new version :)

I edited the MPH into KMH, and changed wheel HP into engine HP, and also did a translation into Swedish with a tiny "language pack". Anyone for a Swedish translation? ;)

This mod is not really supported it was a stopgap while some bright spark rewrote it, it looks like Zachariah is that bright spark :)

To tide over all the people that want it. I will do a strait convert and cleanup of bugs. Later on create the better hack w/ options to import the data from this one.

I want to move this to it's own table or two to allow multi entries, cars, custom fields, what ever we can think of.

There has been a change to the user profile fields structure which is the biggest problem with the old stop gap mod on vb 3.6.0.

Okay all, i got permission from deathempreror to share my instruction's on how to make this work with 3.6..........Please and i mean please, if you have any question's about this install, ask.......I will help anyone at anytime i am online.....

Anyway's, whether it's a fresh install or an upgrade, my instruction's will get this working on your site....BUT YOU have to be sure to read the instruction''s carefully. I am not a coder, i have been trying to learn and it is very hard to get help in this area. I even got band from sitepoint.com for asking for help in this area.....oh, and if there are anycoder's reading this and are going to try to use it (hint hint Zachariah), please feel free to finish what i couldn't get done for a real simple install.

yes, it's using the xml..........If ya need, show me the database and i will install it for ya...........which vbulletin are you using too? if you are using 3.5, you don't need my work, just the original mod.....

The only thing my part does, is manually load "title" and "description" to the database. This isn't in the vbulletin 3.6, so you have to manually add those two words and the amount of character's they can use.......other then that, the change's are just like deathemperor specified....you have to follow all of his change's to the .php files, as listed, then do what i added, then run the xml.........I am up to 12 people that have run into no problem's with this addition.......So i know that it is working with other people's 3.6.

I also did some more reading, and you may get away without doing my install manually by running these queries 1 at a time:

I'm running vB 3.6.1. Currently I do not have vB Timeslip Database installed.

What should be my first step? Run the database querys first? Install this mod first?

First thing to do is the file edit's in deathemperor's instruction's.......have everything ready, and just before you are supposed to add the deathemperor's .xml, do the database changes.....i redid them and if you follow the link on post (here) , all you should have to do is run a 2 queries and you will be done with that......then upload the .xml and you are done......Only difference between these queries here and the one's in this post is the default 'aa' and 'a'.......you will be good to go.

One of the sites I visit is also running the vbpicgallery as a "garage", but I just didn't like the look of it compared to the Fusion Scripts setup. Maybe it was because I was used to the phpBB version, or that everything was in a single "mod". Plus the option to be able to list the top XX of each catergory (most mods, most $$ spent, best 1/4 mile, highest dyno, etc). I honestly have never messed with vbpicgallery, so maybe the site I'm used to seeing it on is just lacking in their setup of it...

I love the layout of the Timeslip Database and the photos of the owner's cars. I use PhotoPost, but don't have it integrated into anything but vB. Appears you have Timeslip Database and vBPicGallery. If that's the case.....that is awesome!

Got this working with hotwheel's additional queries, in vB 3.6.0. Thanks hotwheels!
As a side note, my table prefix was "vb_" I don't know how it got set this way, but it took me a bit to figure out that was my problem with the query. I noticed the difference in prefix when I looked at the table list under "Repair/optomize tables" in the vB admin CP. Maybe that will help someone else.

There is no ftforum in the query.........if you run the queries, all you should have to do is run them as written.......they are adding the word "title" and the word "description" not the title name of your forums.....Just rerun these 2 queries (queries)

That i am not sure of.......when i redid this mod for my site, my site had been hacked and the entire database was gone. So mine was started, again from scratch. Then when i found out how to make the timeslips work, i shared what i did to make it work on my website.

When you go to the Timeslip database and then click "Submit timeslip" the page it brings up doesnt have any words on it, just boxes? If you go to your User CP then Profile the words are their? Is this the way its supposed to be?

If so, can I go in and change what the "Submit Timeslip" link points to?

It should take you to the user profile, where you can edit your vehicle information and submit a timeslip.....

What happen's since you have this much of it working, if you reinstall the .xml via the admincp and click overwrite.......?

Everything should work since the only thing my upgrade does is add the title and description word back to the profilefield in your mysql....

Open the .xml file in a text editor(I use Notepad II) and go to line 433 and change "edittimeslip" to whatever you want the link to point to, in my case it was just Edit profile so I put in "editprofile" in place of "edittimeslip". Then save the file and upload it with Overwrite selected and your done. :)

Works perfect now, thanks again.

Right on bro, i am very happy that you got it working........only reason i haven't really done much to update this mod, is do to the fact that i never really recieved permission to mess with it. I just wanted to get it working on my website, and after alot of messing around with the code, i got it working and had alot of request's to share what i had done to get it working, hence, my half ass'd update...

K, I tried to help make this a product.......

I need someone with a pretty much a new set up to give this a whirl.....and then let me know what happen's.

I just don't have a way to test at this point since all i have is an online site, i don't have a test site.

Now, If you test this you will need to do all of the file edit's as per my original instructions, accept i added the query's to this, so you hopefully won't need to run the queries seperately......I believe what is happening is that i didn't make a couple change's in death's original .xml file, and when you add the queries, my queries are being overwritten.....Hopefully with the change's i made, you should be able to upload the product, edit your image.php file and it's good to go.....

If you already have this installed but are having issue's with the title's being posted, just upload this .xml and click overwrite......let me know what happens.....

Please remember, i don't claim to be a coder, i am just trying to help make a great product, work again......

I was wondering what the deal with that was. I just looked at the list that was posted a page or 2 ago and entered all of the data manually via phpMyAdmin. Before that, everything just showed up as "aa:" and "a:". I figured it was something I had screwed up or missed in the instructions. I never looked into what the code was doing though...

That's kind of wierd in a way, i just did a fresh install with smokinz28 yesterday, on a site that didn't have timeslips on the site...when completed, it worked out perfectly: http://www.f-bodyhideout.com/forums/timeslips.php?

It has all of the wording, and accept's all of the comands. I even put in my car's timeslip information and it took........I am wondering if my instruction's are kind of confusing since this post is all over the place? I had thought about doing a new thread for vb3.6 since it does update to vb3.6....

The one bit of confusion that i have noticed is about my query run's. If you go to your phpmyadmin, and look in the left hand column for profilefield, you will have to see what your field is named. My profilefield in phpmyadmin is vb3profilefield, some are vbprofilefield, and other's are just profilefield...you need to set the intitial queries to this setting as such:
ALTER TABLE `vbprofilefield` ADD `title` VARCHAR( 25 ) DEFAULT 'aa' NOT NULL AFTER `profilefieldid` ; or ALTER TABLE `vb3profilefield` ADD `title` VARCHAR( 25 ) DEFAULT 'aa' NOT NULL AFTER `profilefieldid` ; or ALTER TABLE `profilefield` ADD `title` VARCHAR( 25 ) DEFAULT 'aa' NOT NULL AFTER `profilefieldid` ; all this query is doing is adding the word "title" back to the profilefield, it was there on previous version's of vbulletin, but has been removed.

Then the second query is basically the same, you need to see what your profilefield name is, just like above:

ALTER TABLE `profilefield` ADD `description` VARCHAR( 250 ) DEFAULT 'a' NOT NULL AFTER `title` ; or ALTER TABLE `vb3profilefield` ADD `description` VARCHAR( 250 ) DEFAULT 'a' NOT NULL AFTER `title` ; or ALTER TABLE `vbprofilefield` ADD `description` VARCHAR( 250 ) DEFAULT 'a' NOT NULL AFTER `title` ; All this query is doing is adding the word "description" back to the profile field, again, it was there on previous version's of vbulletin, but has been removed from vb3.6.

These 2 queries, need to be the very first thing you do in order to not get confused on what is happening here. Then, after you run these 2 queries, make the following file edit's:

Once these edit's are completed and saved back into your site's database, upload timeslips.php to your forum's root directory (/forums/) then // Upload slipicon.gif to your forum's misc image directory (/forums/images/misc/) or what ever your forums root directory is. Mine happen's to be forums/.....

After all of this has been done, you will now Go to your product link, then add new product by uploading the product-timeslips.xml file.

If you did this step by step, you shoudn't see the "aa" or the "a"......

However, if you have already run the query and are having issue's with this not showing correctly, go back to your phpmyadmin, open the profilefield, and look to see if you have the word "title" and "description" in there. If so, put a check mark in front of "title" and "description", and look up just a bit and click on the word "drop", this will remove "title" and "description" from your server. With that done, run the query that best fit's your site from the above queries (Still in phpmyadmin), look at the left navigation bar, and up at the top, the third icon over "sql", is where you need to run the queries from.

After you have rerun the queries, and you know for sure that you have all the file edit's done, go back to your admincp, and rerun the product timeslips.xml, and select overwrite......now check your www/yoursite/forums/timeslips.php and see what is there, and then click on submit your timeslip at the bottom of the box that appears.....It may take about 15 minutes to reupdate depending on the size of your site, but it WILL work......

Rather than re-adding the titles into the profilefield it would be far better for soomeone to fix the section of code in the xml that calls the profile fields and titles to address the titles in their new location. I have had a look but it is beyond my abilities :(

Ok, here is an updated product XML. From what I saw, there was an error in the ALTER TABLE syntax when setting the default values. So I just removed that part of the SQL and it worked.

FYI, I am currently running 3.6.3, so it appears to be working on that.

When you are uploading the .xml, are you selecting override "yes"?

well I can't wait too. I've just got a new job and is kind of busy, I work 9 hours a day. This is what I've done. Although tested in my localhost for new installation and upgrade, please report if you guys found any problems and I will fix it when I get home.

I have modified the xml slightly to do some checking for existing tables etc. This worked for me doing an "UPGRADE" from the old 3.5 version and all the profilefield tables are referenced correctly without having to create bogus profile field entries as in the other workarounds. I have also Australian ised it with HP changed to kW and Altitude etc to Date.

All I did was on my existing installation where the titles were missing because of the change to userprofile field layout etc is just overwrite my existing install with the 1.2.1 version attached here. i am running vBulletin 3.6.4 also.

That error means it didn't write into your user field for some reason.......the alter table in the .xml need's to tell it to do so.....

The above error, Unknown column 'title' in 'field list' is do to "title" not being in the profile field in your myphpadmin........If i was you at this point, i would wait and see if there is a better way to fix that, then my bogus query write into the profilefield......

That second file looks like it was meant to be some kind of ammendment to the original. I'm starting with this code here to manually add the "customfile" field. The syntax is wrong in the SQL which is why it's not being created.

there are: 43 lines added, 129 lines modified, and 85 lines deleted.......

Alright I made some headway but I'm having problems with the $vbphrase. Here's what I did to correct my problem. I couldn't get rid of the old XML file because the SQL wouldn't let it finish. The problem was that it was trying to remove a table that wasnt there. So I simply took the lines out.

Everything highlighted is what I deleted from the XML and then I saved the file and re-uploaded it.

I had to change "field51" to "field52" and then delete the whole line that has "field52". This may or may not apply to zincpony it just depends on what tables and fields were created for him.

After I re-uploaded it I was able to do a clean uninstallation of the product. After that I uploaded the new product-timeslips1.2.xml and everything worked fine except for the $vbphrase function. For some reason some of them were giving me problems. I couldn't get the following to show up at all:

Go into your database in phpMyAdmin, then go into the "profilefileds" table and click "Browse" at the top. Delete fields 50-65. Then go to the "userfields" table and do the same thing.

To uninstall you need to revert the template changes, remove the custom profile fields as well as drop the customfile table.

For zincpony, are you sure you downloaded the right zip ? Timeslip 3.6 v1.2.zip is for vb3.6 while the other is not. If you downloaded Timeslip 3.5 v1.1.4.zip and install it in a 3.6 forum, the errors "missing title" will be generated. This is because from 3.5 to 3.6, they change the title of the profilefields into phrases (so that you can translate into other langs). As a result of that is the "title" column is removed from table profilefield => old queries of the Timeslip hack does not work. The upgrade was fine for me. Because: if you import the xml file again, vbulletin won't check for changes in installation codes instead it will check for code of newer version and replace all plugins, templates, phrases etc. As of right now I don't think your code is important, I will test it again this weekend.

It was your mistake, you was absolutely using the old zip file which contain the old product xml file and old instructions which leads to the errors you got. I suggest you completely remove the hack and try the file Timeslip 3.6 v1.2.zip. Please be careful this time.

The reason for the mistake was the same reason I made the mistake and that is because the product-timeslips.xml was included with the zip when it should have. On top of that the SQL syntax is wrong which causes the "customfield" table to NOT be created. As a result when you try to uninstall the product from the product manager it runs into an error becuase it tries to drop a table which does not exist (customfield). Also "tdban" and "field50" were not added as well when I installed the products-timeslips.xml.

I have it all fixed now with a bit of modification to the old XML file.

Also just so you guys know you can also have the "Ride" coincide with a custom field.

A while back I created a custom field (field5 for me) that listed my members cars. The car would show up in the profile and would show up in the postbit. Since field50 was never added for me and "field50" is the field where you enter your car information, I simply left "field50" out and used my field5 which was already entered a long time ago.

Then I just went to the timeslips.php file. There are 2 instances of "ride" in that file. I just replaced the one that links to "field50" and replaced it with "field5." Then voila, people who already entered their car don't have to enter it again and it automatically shows up on the Timeslip.php page.

Sounds like your "field51" doesn't exist either. Go into your phpMyAdmin and click on the table "userfields". All of your fields should be listed. Check to see which fields you actually have. The old XML file has to match that exactly so if you are missing "field51" in your table in phpMyAdmin then you need to remove that line from the XML uninstall code. Then try it again.

lol, that's what i had to do too.........I am going to stay with my upgrade, since i did manage to get it going......and if i did try to upgrade to the newest .xml, i think i will have issue's and don't feel like messin around with em again.......

hopefully, if you don't mind and you get the .xml right, post it up so other can share it with those 2 line's of code removed.....that would be awesome.

I don't mind but it seems that some how the SQL is causing varations in the installations. For example, my XML file only forgot to add the field50 while his forgot to add the field51. I would be afraid that my XML wouldn't help others out if they had the same type of variation.

Also deathemperor said that he removed the old XML so if anyone new d/l this file then only the new XML will be in there and won't be a problem.

what i did was i uploaded the 1.1.4 into my test forum, then exported the two tables from the test database then drop the two tables from my main database, imported the two. then imported the plugg in that was edited according to Turbolasers guide and uninstalled it completely.

Something definatly is not working properly. I removed all traces of the old timeslips hack and when I install this vB3.6 hack using the 1.2 it will not load any tables etc in the database. It shows up in the plug ins and won't let me uninstall it because those feilds do not exsist now.

I tried reinstalling and it will not add anything to the database :(

Thanks for the point out, I updated the zip with this fix.

For those of you want to remove the product (after remove all tables and column and profilefields), edit the product, remove its uninstall code and then remove the product. that should do it.

i get it to work to where you post what is needed and what not and they appear on the timeslips.php file and all that but everytime i do this. user profiles get broken. if i click on a user name to view their profile it does not work. i get a database error.

You must remove what you edited using the old instructions. As I mentioned above it's your fault on using the old version, replace all edited file and use the correct instructions.

For those of you want to remove the product (after remove all tables and column and profilefields), edit the product, remove its uninstall code and then remove the product. that should do it.

Well that worked so far for me. on v3.6.4 I haven't had time to enter any info yet. Hopefully I don't get any error.

You can include it or not I don't think it makes a big difference. I left it out on mine and it works fine.

One suggestion --- dont ever put your email address as a link on a hack... You'll end up getting TONS of spam email form bots that look for email addresses.

The hack seems to work.. But I lost all my old timeslip data and had to uninstall the original version to get it to work.

bluebullet........basically what that error is telling you, that in your mysql, you have field's there (#50), etc........these are now in your userfield, therefore you have duplicates.......not sure on the new 3.6.4 upgrade, but you will probably have to delete the "title" and "description" from your profilefield, since they are now located in the userfield......

OK I have read thru many post and I'm bit confused, I was running VB 3.5.4 with the timeslips and just upgraded to vb3.6.4, so what do I need to do to upgrade to vb3.6 1.2? Just upload the timeslips.php and re import the xml file in the zip file?
