I need to extend vB to accomodate non-forum data. For example I need to maintain a directory of hospitals that provide bloodless healthcare. I have created a table called _cos (companies). I looked high and low for a way to build a web-based frontend to maintain the data. If have rediscovered a tool called CodeCharge (http://www.yessoftware.com/products/product_detail.php?product_id=1).

Has anyone used this in conjunction with vB? I know it would take a lot of work to sync styles, etc. But for granting access to developers and moderators, it would be just fine.

I have built a hospitals directory here (http://www.noblood.org/stage/_hospitals.php) (this is a staging site) and if you have permission, you would see a link to an edit page produced by CodeCharge.

What I plan to do next is to see if I can grant access to CC user based on permission from vB.

If there is a better way to do this, please do tell. :)

Thanks! :)

Try one of the link / directory mods that are out there. I bought the one at vbadvanced and think it was worth it especially since it intergrates nicely with vb and uses the same templates and usergroups, etc. It also lets you add your own custom fields.

I am using it to add in local stores which you can see here:

Thank you Reeve,

I'm really liking CodeCharge and would like to wrap CC data pages within vB pages. My requirements are more than adding a few fields.

Before I dive in further, it sure would be great to chat with anyone who has already gone down this road. :)
