Yet in the instructions it mentions template edits, and even shows the code to find - but it doesn't state which templates to edit.

Just tried the latest version and the instructions are a bit vague.

make sure you overwrite all the required files
and if google banned the iPs of your location,
just turn the proxy option on in your admincp.

Ah, I found out why I couldn't see the template edits in your install read me. All I could see was the edits but not where they actually are supposed to be done.

They don't show up in Internet Explorer 7.0 - it was fine once I switched to Firefox. For some reason IE 7 wasn't pulling in the js files.:confused:

Now perhaps I might be able to get this hack working. Only testing it for now, because of all the prolems other people seem to be having on here. I'll report back if I get this working.

I installed it anyway to try.... but didn't do anything. All I have now is a player installed on my computer that I can't read (menus in english, but all the content is still in Chinese :()

so will all forums membres who want to view have to install pplive?

2. how do you find a channel code? its all in chinese. can't I just repost the one you posted and will it work?

don't know if its just my comp. but redid everyone AGAIN. and got the same problem. HOWEVER, the only way it fixed itself (this and otehr google videas) was "resaving" them. :/ ie: edit the post and resave it.

can't do that for all of em (too many)...but there it is.

Well, I did say I'd report back regarding this hack. After a few hiccups I finally got it working with no problems.

However, on a test install using vBulletin 3.6 beta 1 doesn't work, you cannot save settings in AdminCP.

I tried again but under vBulletin 3.5.4 on another test installation, and voila it worked first time. This is one mod I would like to see in vBulletin 3.6 - when the full version is released.

I still think that there's sth wrong with the permission cache.

follow these steps:

1.upload and overwrite the 'bitfield_anymedia.xml' file.
2.rebuild the permission cache.
3.make sure you have the permission to use AnyMedia bbcode
4.make sure you do not custom the tag name
5.make sure you turn on the AnyMedia system

and then try again

Are you using vBulletin 3.6 beta 1 or above? This mod isn't compatible with it yet. I tried several installs before it finally worked with vBulletin 3.5.4. So far it's working fine on 2 sites I installed it on. The admincp in vB 3.6 has all boxes un-checked on installation, on vBulletin 3.5.4 all boxes are already checked correctly, unless you wish to change them and other settings.

If you have other mods, check they aren't conflicting.

Eventhough I've done thorough testing of this hack; Google I cannot get to work. However, most videos on Google are on YouTube.com if you do a search.

Do you have AnyMedia checked in admincp-> vbulletin options-> AnyMedia BBCode Options -> .wmv checked?

If it's unchecked you will not see .wmv files playing. Note if you're using Firefox you will require a plugin.

I'm still having a problem, under IE when page with media player loads I get error messege and sometimes reply box doesn't load, in firefox everything works fine.

But if you post too many videos from supported video sites in a single thread,

When I try to play website videos a white color appears in the movie space when LOGGED IN users try to play it, however for guests it's just loading fine (no error or something, everyone got permission to view).

I don't know what else to do. WMV and stuff plays fine. I tried YouTube and Google Videos, they only play 5% of the time for logged in users, 95% of the times loading the page, that white space appears.

It's a known issue with the defualt AnyMedia flvplayer in IE.
I guess that the player's not working fine with IE's cache function (not sure).

I may change it to a stable one in 4.0

and you could use youtube's official player instead of it.

Now it's working, but there's one problem the reference mp3 file is showing an error on page 'Access is Denied'. Obviously, you need access to the mp3 for the flash player to call it in to play. Check the CHMOD settings on the mp3 file.

Just one qstn i have to download everything and cant watch it in the player itself :( - I did set it to autoplay in the options from the control panel but it appears as a collapsed box even though its set not to.... And that settng for it being a collapsed box is also set to 'No' to 'No' in my VB control panel. It's a known issue with the defualt AnyMedia flvplayer in IE.
I guess that the player's not working fine with IE's cache function (not sure).

I may change it to a stable one in 4.0

and you could use youtube's official player instead of it.

Some people do not know that there are 2 versions of refreshing in Internet Explorer, you could possibly try these:

1. Soft Refresh - By pressing F5 or Refresh on the browser window.
2. Hard Refresh - Hold CTRL + F5

If it is a browser cache issue, then a hard refresh should fix the problem.

My question now is it seem there is no restriction. Someone could load the first page of a thread with 10 1.5 GB avi's and it will sit there loading each one eventually. You can even use the ftp:// protocol in the tags One avi will load quickly but how is a thread page going to handle multiple posts with media tages or even a single post with multiple media tags.

In next version I'll do some restriction work on it.

this must be caused by the cache system of IE i think.

Not yet, Crist is going to release a new version for vBulletin 3.6. And a few fixes with the flvplayer.

I did try it on vB 3.6 beta 1 - but it doesnt save settings in the admincp.

but I don't think I'll add that to this free version,

1. i installed the extension as it is mentioned in the folder.
2. it works without bugs.
3. i ran cache posts from the admin cp
4. all the entries between [ media ] and [ / media ] are made invisible but are still there if i open the post for editing.

Can you include in your first post what future updates you plan to include in the next version? Reason is, I want to request a fix so that

1) people can't post the code twice in the same page
2) it doesn't play in peoples' signatures
3) it doesn't play in certain areas such as the journal, photopost

Basically, the problem with the player is that people may post multiple instances of videos and the forum goes haywire unless you leave autoplay off.

Crist thanks for the great mod however im having a problem.. im trying to make it Valid XHTML and it only seems to have 2 errors... ok but the problem is that when i change the simple errors they dont show up or even change.... i edited the any media template which is where the errors are and when you refresh the page it dont show the templates being edited...

here is a example in any media template:

before alt:
<span style="float:$stylevar[right]"><a href="#" onclick="return toggle_collapse('media_$media[id]')"><img id="collapseimg_media_$media[id]" src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/collapse_tcat.gif" border="0" /></a></span>

after with alt:
<span style="float:$stylevar[right]"><a href="#" onclick="return toggle_collapse('media_$media[id]')"><img id="collapseimg_media_$media[id]" src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/collapse_tcat.gif" border="0" alt="" /></a></span>

but the problem is when i add the alt tag in there and refresh the page its still giving me the same error no alt tag when its in there and even if you view the source it dont show the alt tag there... any help on this?

I am having problems getting a YouTube video to play, the flash player simply shows a white blank screen (doesn't load), when I turn off AnyMedia override in the admin settings, this same flash player is loaded and still doesn't work.

maybe you installed prefix hack wrongly
I have installed vbulletin by default , then install anymedia mod but doesn't work . Topic with media code always turns blank . It is very strange, my server is virtual dedicated from godaddy.com
I test default vbulletin with anymedia hack on other sharing host and it works correctly .
has godaddy.com banned this script or something like that....?:confused:

make sure you put Class_AnyMedia.php into the includes dir of your forum
