Well atleast you guys are getting a black screen. I cant even get the options to show up in the permissions, to turn the feature on and off it shows in the vb obtions.. but not in the usergroup persmisisons. Weird.

You're a upgrade user?
So the old post need to be re-parsed.
You could edit them (just add a space and submit),
It will be re-parsed automaticlly.
And then,
It will use the new way to load medias.

the flvplayer.swf is not working for me.
I test it without vbulletin, in a simple html page to certify the problem, with something like this flvplayer.swf?file=video.flv (and the rest of the code) and with the flvplayer.swf my flv don?t play, only black screen is shown, and with other one flv player it shows fine.

Hi, with regards to the google video, I too can not get this working. My google video is at http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4329325124823019531, and having a look around the code made me use the following media tag as it didn't recognise the google url as a video...

This didn't work, but having thought about it it's not surprising really! On the google video page is a "Put on site" section which gives you the html code needed to embed the video in a web site. I took just the part within the src="" tag and put that into the player instead. It still didn't work due to the URL being encoded, so I then used http://www.us-webmasters.com/Decode-URLs/ to decode the URL and ended up with...

Now this almost works. The video player is happy that it knows the type, but if you click the play button it pops up a message saying "Buffering" and goes no further.

I'm kind of just using trail and error here to get it working but hoped the above might point someone who knows what they are doing in the right direction of getting this working properly.

Would it be easier to add the google video embed tags to the anymedia.js script and display them that way? For reference, the google embed tag is as follows...

I do the same you say, copy the url in the scr from the code that google gives, and it works. (with no decoding)

Make sure that the “Number of Characters Before Wrapping Text” is set to ‘0’ in your adminCP in one of the vbulletin showthread options. If it’s set to another number it will break your google url that is very long and it’ll not play

Crist it would be great that the “Number of Characters Before Wrapping Text” not would to be disabled for google video to work, as it is a useful option to prevent posts going out of the screen

Plugin System -> Plugin Manager -> Create AnyMedia BBCode

Replace this:

As I said before, I upload another flvplayer.swf instead of the one that Crist shares. Whit the new player all the videos based on flv format (flv, youtube and vsocial) are now playing fine with url

I just found out that .wmv and other video files Autoplay in Firefox while they don't in IE, and the problem still remains with YouTube auto playing no matter what browser you are using. Crist, please acknowledge this problem - thank you.

Do change the permission for every usergroup after you install the hack plz!

To resolve having to do this for each Usergroup I set the default to "0" in the .XML such as:

This way I can choose only the Usergroups I want whereas all other Usergroups have been disabled.

I've noticed one glitch in the behavior of with width and height. Sometimes the video displays a 5x5px and the rest of the screen is white. Sometimes pressing refresh or going out of the thread and coming back in resolves the issue. This behavior occurs when the files are untouched.

I've adjusted some of the scripts in the .js and .xml files as well as the Anymedia template to force a 4:3 ratio for video. I did that to see if it resolved the display issue but to no avail. I'll keep testing the scripts to see why this is occuring. Any ideas are appreciated. I'll post back on my progress. :)

hmm to me works fine all with firefox.
I got some problems with IE6. Try to Load a IE page containing youtube movie, When the movie is loaded and player display "Click here to start" then, reload (F5) the IE page. I guess some cookies troubles, but wont be anymore visible, u need to close the IE page, to see it again.

I've noticed one glitch in the behavior of with width and height. Sometimes the video displays a 5x5px and the rest of the screen is white. Sometimes pressing refresh or going out of the thread and coming back in resolves the issue. This behavior occurs when the files are untouched.

1. does it load the video file along with page, as it takes for ever for me load a page with an avi file on (does it stream or downlaod to local system?).

Both the whole url and the docid are working.
Turn on the proxy option if google bans your ip.

Now, I have upgraded with the new version.
I have 2 questions or issues I wonder if you can help me straiten out.
I had reinstalled it since you had worked on it last, and now im having issues again.
1. When I try to play an mpg file, it does not work. It just sits there with no play button. I Have tried switching back in forth btween windows player and flash player in acp, but does not make a difference.
2. Sometimes on some file uploads, the player will be there, but when you push on the "play" button, nothing happens at all. The button just goes back to where it was, like it was not pushed. Sometimes the wmv files work, sometimes they do not. Seems like if the wmv file is a long video, the player will not play it.
I need to be able to play BOTH wmv and mpg. Can you comment on what I need to do?
The permissions on all the groups seem to be ok.

I think I know what the problem is, I tested this with another AVI and it worked perfectly. My AVI was too large... even after some compression it was something like 34 MB in size. The other AVI was like 8 MB in size. Going to try and compress my AVI more then I will try again.

Just another question, I will be using vBadvanced, and wondered if there is a way of getting the movie to show up on the vBa page? I checked on http://www.vbadvanced.com and there doesn't seem to be anything on there. I only found this http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14076 but it was related to videos in general, not to this extension. It would be cool if someone could write a module or something for vBa and AnyMedia.

You had helped me with an issue I was having before.
Now, I have upgraded with the new version.
I have 2 questions or issues I wonder if you can help me straiten out.
I had reinstalled it since you had worked on it last, and now im having issues again.
1. When I try to play an mpg file, it does not work. It just sits there with no play button. I Have tried switching back in forth btween windows player and flash player in acp, but does not make a difference.
2. Sometimes on some file uploads, the player will be there, but when you push on the "play" button, nothing happens at all. The button just goes back to where it was, like it was not pushed. Sometimes the wmv files work, sometimes they do not. Seems like if the wmv file is a long video, the player will not play it.
I need to be able to play BOTH wmv and mpg. Can you comment on what I need to do?
The permissions on all the groups seem to be ok.

not sure about your .mpg file but i would say that you dont have the codec's installed on your computer for the video's that fail to play.. some people encode the video into formats that may not have the codec installed in your machine.. its like putting a square peg in a round hole.. it wont work

It was playing mpg untill i changed something..like a tag that was /ANYMEDIA
or something of the sort. I changed something, but crist had it working for me and it would play anything on my site without a problem. Not any more.

It was playing mpg untill i changed something..like a tag that was /ANYMEDIA
or something of the sort. I changed something, but crist had it working for me and it would play anything on my site without a problem. Not any more.

I think I know what the problem is, I tested this with another AVI and it worked perfectly. My AVI was too large... even after some compression it was something like 34 MB in size. The other AVI was like 8 MB in size. Going to try and compress my AVI more then I will try again.

Just another question, I will be using vBadvanced, and wondered if there is a way of getting the movie to show up on the vBa page? I checked on http://www.vbadvanced.com and there doesn't seem to be anything on there. I only found this http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14076 but it was related to videos in general, not to this extension. It would be cool if someone could write a module or something for vBa and AnyMedia.

I'm working on it.

If you dont know how to upgrade exactly,
just upload all the files in the "uploads" dir,
and re-import the product xml file,

Is it possible to mod your current hack so rather than showing a broken URL with media tags it would show something like

I used the Chinese Product ID write the Code Mods of the English Version.

Now I've Updated the zip pack already,

go into your administration control panel then click on the (left menu bar) vBulletin Options, thjen click the same name again under vBulletin Options.
Now in the main window on your right you will have a list of options, scroll down till you see AnyMedia BBcode Options and double click that.
your options are inside there ;)

if you cant see it then its not installed correctly.. read the installation instructions and start again :bunny:

Yes i have the same problem with the vbulletin post cache, when the post is cached by vbulletin, i can view the posted videos

Just updated to the latest version. It's been working fine for mp3's... but when I try a valid mov I get this:

Error: Non supported media type.

The Quicktime movie works fine in my browser when I link to it though.

Any ideas?

I experienced this too... then I Rebuilt Bitfields (an admin maintenance routine made easily accessible with this (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?s=&threadid=103565) or this (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=99279&highlight=admin+tools)) and it started working again.

I suggest listing them without the spaces, so that if/when someone screws around and erases them all in the box, they can add them back easily by copy and pasting. (If you copy and paste, with the spaces, none of them work!)

Either that, or perhaps include a "Default Settings" button to be able to revert to the original settings.

Or lastly, consider making it work even if there is a comma and a space separating the extensions.

but it won't wrap automaticlly,
otherwise you add a space between them.

Google hasn't banned my IP, I can manually go to the same URL and watch the Google video just fine. It's only when I post it on my forum, inside the [media] tag, that I get "Error: Failed to parse video url."

Hi Crist i have a question,say if a member uploads a .wmv file from their computer,is there anyway you can make that file play directly in the post with the tags? ive tried and had no luck i would like it so members can watch the vid in the post without having to download and watch on their computer,see below screenshot on what i'm saying with the file type that a member has uploaded.

u mean once the member has uploaded the media file, it will be auto-played in the post, even the member do not need to use any bbcode for that?:cool:

but on their page the embed tag looks like something else (youtube is really slow right now)

Very very nice hack... Only problem that I have with it...
The Auto Collapse Module Setting in the vbsettings doesn't work.. hence.. every time someone looks at at thread with anymedia tags... it starts caching the videos automaticly... and that's something we don't want because it costs a shitload of bandwidth etc :) Is there any work around? Thanks!
