total bans question

ok. a user got 50 warning points i had set to put him in the ban spot. he was released from the ban after 7 days. but his points remained. he got a warning tonight for 10 points, giving him 60 points, and was banned again.

shouldnt the points be reset after the first ban went into place?

how do i set this option if so?

Well, that's the way it works. The member got banned for whatever period you have assigned, but the warnings have not matured yet, so the points are there. The points will be removed, as the warnings mature.

There is no such option for the points to be removed, when the member is banned.

oh i see. ok so when the time gets matured, the points are removed?

if thats so, what should i set the mature time to? i dont want the member to keep getting banned if he gets a warning...

Well, if you want the members points to be removed, when he is unbanned, you have to set the maturity periods of your warnings to be less than what your banning period is.

For example, if the your banning period is 7 days, then at least the first warning a member has received, should mature within those 7 days. In that way, when he is unbanned, at least the points for the first warning will be removed.
