I was a little undecided about where I could post this but here seemed ok. Anyway I just bought a vb board and started to edit my templates with some help from a friend of mine but after editing them two things have happened that aren't right and I can't seem to be able to fix it. Now I'm a complete newbie to this kind of php scripting and don't even know where to look. I've tried to fix it by reverting the templates one by one but nothing seems to be causing it but I know it must be a template error because on the default skin it doesn't do it.

First of all on the changed forum skin it won't let me post threads anywhere. It says that you can not make a post that is less than 10 characters even when my post is much longer than that. On the default skin posting works fine so it must have been something I did with a template edit but after spending hours editing templates one by one to see what makes a difference I still can't find the problem.

Secondly the box around the topics area which includes Showing threads by last post time, the cutoff etc. is missing on some of the boards but not others.

I'm running 3.5 and my board address is http://www.holesandchains.com/forum/

Thanks in advance and I hope this is the right place.

The new style you are working on, is that a complete new create style, or did you start with a style downloaded from somewhere. If you started with a downloaded style, make sure it was written for the version of vB you're using.

PS Styles are not PHP, they are 95% plain HTML

It's a completely new created style. However, it was created for vbulletin version 3.0.7 not 3.5 which I have so I guess that's where my problem lies. However knowing that I've got a template error caused by version incompatibility and finding which template it is and which part of the code of that template are two different things.

As I said I've tried reverting templates one by one which all seem to have something to do with messages and posting messages but haven't been able to find where the problem lies.

Thanks for your help
