corrupt postindex table

Lately I have been getting sql error 145 in the _postindex table.

after running the repair tool this table was listed as this:

Warning: Table is marked as crashed

&

Error: Size of indexfile is: 1560576 Should be: 1563648

&

Error: Corrupt


is there a way to reapir this table?

Empty it and then rebuild it, a rebuild of the search indexes in in the ACP.
