Great Work there.

anyway i encounter a problem wonder if anyone can help me out.

When i install and edit according to the instruction, everything was fine.
however my forum had 3 theme, 1 default, 2 custom

i editing all the templates in default but however nav bar will be editied indivually.
what happen was, the default and last theme cannot load the vbgarage.php?do=list
only 2nd theme. tried check and eventually could not find anything wrong anywhere.
wonder if such a problem was reported and is there any fix?

thanks for kind assistance.

Maybe if I every bought vbaGallery we could use it to handle the photos an vbGarage could just grab them. I am working on converting vbGarage to store images in folders instead of the database, but still trying to get images seperated by garage.

joeychgo, I wanted to go ahead an convert how it stored images since it was looking to be a big concern. Especially when I went to back up my own garage with just a few images in it. Multiple garage part works fine, just working on the images part of things right now.

Jacko, I was actually doing this already. It's pretty cool stuff, but I stopped all that extra features so I could release a version just with multiple car garages at least. Since that is what most people are waiting for.

You need to have your host install GD. It's in the readme I believe.

You need to have that installed. Ask your webhost.
( you can do a phpinfo to check if it is currently present on your host -> in Admincp )

Action, do you think you could try to incoporate a means to dynamically add new fields. I am sure this would be a welcome addition to the next version.

Yep, file storage system is a must, and I hope it will be in the next version as well. Multiple garages would only mean MORE images per user, MORE images in total, MORE space taken up in the db...you get what I am driving at..

Yes it will.
But for the changes in init.php ( in the zip package's instructions ), instead of following that, use this change instead :

Code found here

Installed on 3.0.3 - install went great, and I can post / view garages. However, I did notice that all users, including unregistered, can view garages regardless of the setting of the Can use vBGarage? usergroup variable. If Can use vBGarage? is set to NO a user can't create a garage, but they can still view all garages. This leads me to 2 questions:

1. Is this behavior by design?
2. How can I set it up so that only particular usergroups can view garages (for example - registered users can view only, users of a custom usergroup can view and create / update)?

Thanks!

Yes it is by design.
The Can Use vbGarage option simply allows that particular usergroup to be able to add a car profile or edit it.

If you want to restrict the viewing of car profiles or the main list page, you will need to add an if condition to the vbgarage.php file in the do=list section.
Something like this:
Code:
if ($permissions['genericpermissions'] & CANVBGARAGE)
{
...view_car_profile_code_here....
}
else
{
print_no_permission();
}
Hope it helps
